I stopped by the Waterville store to have my chain saw sharpe. I was told they no longer sharpen chain saws.

Had the merchandise I needed and expected to find. Store was organized, in stock and well merchandised, inviting me to browse for other items I "needed". We just moved to the area and I needed some help selecting a paint color for the main living area in our new house. Caroline listened to me ramble on, showing much patience I might add, chiming in with her thoughts when I stopped to take a breath. I finally picked out a sample to take home along with some paint boards she suggested I use to move around the different areas of the house. Whatttt?? You mean I don't have to paint patches of different color all around my house before I decide which one I want??? I wish Home Depot would have told me about these things when I had picked out 3 different trial paint colors from them!!! GRRRR. (I had tried 3 different colors from Home Depot first and hated all of them) Anyway... I then went on to Sherwin Williams to pick up 2 paint samples and had an entirely different, very unhelpful, experience with them. I painted 3 color squares, 1 with the color from Aubuchon with the Benjamin Moore paint, and the other 2 with the Sherwin Williams colors. Crossed my fingers, asked my SO which he liked better and Woooohooo! Benjamin Moore was the winner. Thank God. Back to Aubuchon and Caroline's wonderful customer service!!! Since that day 2 weeks ago we go to Aubuchon for all of our hardware/paint needs, only venturing to the big box stores if Aubuchon doesn't have it. There's much to be said for great customer service and I'd rather pay the slightly higher prices in small town hardware stores, building a personal relationship where they'll know my name when I walk through the door, than driving out to the big box store and saving a few bucks. read more

I have been a regular customer of this Hardware chain store (since 1987) and I can sincerely say that the service that I have received over the years and continue to receive has been extraordinary. The Waterville store is always very clean with shiny floors and is always well stocked and properly lit . Rarely are they out of an item that I have an instant need for. Greeted by friendly faces who are always eager to assist and even though I am well known to them; I still am greeted and asked if I require assistance. Bought to much or the wrong item or simply changed your mind, NO PROBLEM, you get your choice either a replacement, money back or account credit...merely bring your receipt. This type of service and attention is rare is today's business climate; even from entities that claim they provide customer service. First you have to know what customer service is before it can be rendered and the store manager is responsible for that training and making certain that the corporate policy of customer service is adhered to. I believe Aubuchon is the epitome of how to render knowledgeable, authentic, genuine and personal customer service. Now, they don't have everything that the big box stores have but they have enough to take of almost anything you require and if they don't have it and I if you can wait they will get it from their Massachusetts warehouse. Hint: Get on their e-mail list and receive weekly incentives and promotions. read more

This store is nothing short of amazing! It is clean, well stocked and always has plenty of helpful staff ready and willing to walk you through the store to find exactly what you need. It is not the most convenient place for me to shop but well worth the extra effort and time. Well done Aubuchon...I will always choose you over any of the big box stores! read more
