I've seen more american goods here lately, I hope the trend continues especially some locally made unique wind spinners :)

Horrible customer service. I had the worst experience ever buying an item. Bought 2 bags of…read moreconcrete. Hubby had my truck so had my sister swing by with her car to pick it up while we were out. The kid who loaded it literally just dropped the bags in the trunk; loud thud!! To the point it jolted the car & we jumped. We drove less than a mile down the road & heard a loud muffler sound. We stopped & looked under & there was a big crack in her muffler, at the flange. I live a mile from the store! Called Campbells back & told them (John) what happened & asked them to please mention to this kid to perhaps not just drop 80# bags of concrete in someone's trunk like that as it can cause damage. The concrete was a solid block too, so this was all in vain anyway! Had to return concrete & now have to pay for repairs. Manager said "well u must've hit a big bump cuz there's no way that could do that damage." Umm, well my sister drove like a turtle & did not hit any bumps. The car was completely fine b4 this. You do the math. VERY expensive mistake, buying overpriced concrete that was useless. Be WARNED: if u buy bags of concrete here, load it yourself or you may have your car damaged. Manager could've said "Well I'm sorry that happened & yes I'll speak to the guy to tell him to be careful." That's all. That would've been sufficient/decent, good customer service. Not like I expected them to pay our car repairs! Just some type of decency or concern for customers who have shopped there a lot! No more. Lost my business, my sisters & that of my contractor who brought the concrete back for me. These people do not know how to treat customers. Also told my aunt & cousin so they'll never shop there again either. Customer service goes a long way. This was a bad experience that was just made much worse by uncaring people who couldn't have the decency to just act like they gave a damn. FYI: We've hauled lots of stuff b4- trunk loaded with heavy bags of soil & never had an issue. Common sense will tell you if u drop 160#, rather than set it, in a trunk it could damage something. Live & learn! Always go to Home Depot from now on!

My Mom, bestie & I stopped in here when we headed up to Embden, ME. My Mom has been in here before…read more(many times) & had told me this location is one of the bigger ones. My bestie had never been to a Marden's before. This location is bigger than other locations that I've been in but I feel what makes it bigger is their furniture section which is HUGE. They also have a pretty big crafting material section too. I did see some brand name shoes in the shoe section. I picked up this super cute black with white striped backpack that I used as my carry on bag for my plane ride back home which after using it I was in more awh with it. Great price too! I saw a bunny in a shopping cart that was friendly & two doggies with their owner....must of been bring your pet to Marden's day?? lol Bathrooms were clean as they have some out front & in the back. I was surprised that they really didn't have a big beauty product section for shampoo's, conditioner's, body wash, etc. I did find a cat treat toy that I had found at a different location when I was home visiting in April that I told my bestie she had to buy for her cats & I got one for my co-worker. My bestie found a pair of VANS that she purchased for a great price & loves. I wasn't super impressed with this location. It also seemed that someone may have been caught stealing because when we were leaving their were undercover security & police causing a commotion. Marden's are ALWAYS WORTH stopping in!!

If you see a deal that you really want....don't hesitate, buy it, because it WILL be gone within a week or so. This location is VERY easy to find. A repurposed Kmart building, I believe... It's right off the highway, in fact you can see it from the off ramp to the right. There is plenty of parking even when it's crowded. I have never been to this location around the holiday, but I have driven by, and it is always packed! This locally owned retail chain, sells overstock, liquidation and salvage items. We have seen things from Amazon as well. It's usually so random, although they have seasonally appropriate items as well. When we have the time and energy, we like going through the clearance aisles...yes, they have clearance aisles in a discount store. The clearance aisles are only organized by the percentage off and so it's chaotic. Bring patience and a sharp eye for deals. We have gotten electronic peripherals and accessories. We also bought some great yard deals. While we didn't buy them, they had Robotic Lawn mowers with batteries for sale. This store is quite large and have things like furniture, appliances....so much stuff. If you are a patient bargain hunter, that doesn't mind being around people, you may like this store. Worth at least one visit.
