A terrific find. Read many of the reviews and they are all on target. The food was only outdone by the service. if you want a non-touristy great food experience in the center of Paris, this is the place. Staff speaks very good English and all was great. From salad to mains to desert. Recommend the Saigonese crepe filled with pork and shrimp and veggies. Deserts were all excellent - flan to pudding and the flaming desert looked like. Lot of fund as did the fried shrimp at next table. The owner's son Laurent was incredibly helpful as was the entire staff. His was a restaurant that made us feel like they really were happy that we were there. read more

I think this is more of a Cambodian restaurant than a Viet or Thai restaurant. The place is exceptionally clean. The table is set up nice with cloth towels. I had the noodle soup and Phnom Penh style. It was delicious. No complaints good place to get some hot soup on a cold day. I love this little neighborhood restaurant close to our place , it's quite small so you need a réservation. the food is from Vietnam , Laos and Cambodia, but it really has that French touch which make it really exciting .They have an extensive menu , and Everything is surprisingly delicate and tasty .great service and the owner or the charming waitress is more than happy to help you if you need advice . they have a wine "of the day" to pare with some of the menu and a wide selection from Bourgogne which is my favorite! I was staying at the nearby Westin Vendome and wanted to stay close by. Le Souffle next door was fully booked, so we tried this place. I grew up eating Asian food so I prefer more traditional flavors rather than Asian-fusion. Although this restaurant's menu contains items from a few different Southeast Asian countries, it was not fusion cuisine, and everything I tried was very good. The Bun Bo was close to true Vietnamese flavor, but ask for more veggies and fish sauce. The Nem addition to the dish was not what I expected, but instead was fried spring rolls. Unexpected, but tasty and provided a nice crunchy texture. The Thit Khor had very tender meat (you could tell it was stewed for a long time) and a sweet, caramelized sauce. A bit too sweet for my taste, but still very good. Order with a side of steamed white rice to balance the dish out. The cost is a big high, but the convenience if you are staying in this area cannot be matched. The service was good (they speak English), and we even met the owner. Plus, we had no wait to be seated. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will come again on my next visit to Paris. read more

If you are in the Marais and interested in something that is not smothered in a delicious buttery cream sauce, this is the perfect antidote. This restaurant has an assortment of different, delicious offerings from not just Vietnam, but also Cambodia (and Laos, if I remember correctly). I do not have access to a Vietnamese or Cambodian restaurant close to home, and immediately fell in love with Au Coin des Gourmets. Despite our very short stay in Paris, and the food was so deliciously different, we made a point of eating here for two of our dinners, and did not regret this decision. It is a cozy bistro located on Rue Dante, which is convenient to Boulevard Saint Germain (and even more convenient to the Metro). This is lovely for lunch or dinner for an adventurous someone visiting The Cluny, which is nearby. read more

We had wanted something Asian and the place we originally wanted to go to [Kim Lien] was closed. So we wandered around and we saw the awning with 'Indochine" on it. We thought we'd give it a try, and we're glad we did. We liked it enough that we came back again a few days later. This restaurant is a combination of Cambodia/Vietnamese/Laotian. I know, I know. I was thinking the same thing. "How good can a combo ethnic place be???" Well, it wasn't like going to Cambodia or Vietnam, but it was pretty good for Paris. We ordered the bun and the pho and though it wasn't a 100% authentic, it was really satisfying and it was really tasty. When we go back to Paris one day, we hope that Indochine will still be around with the same cook and staff. Reasonably priced, I would suggest the Laos prix fix menu. Yummy! Sat outside with my boyfriend. He had the pho, which was OK. I had the full cod wrapped in a banana leaf (ordered because some locals next to me were having it), and it did not disappoint! Our server was lovely and helpful, we really enjoyed him. read more

The restaurant our concierge recommended down the street was closed that evening so we randomly found this restaurant just walking around. The food was excellent. We had the crispy Vietnamese pork egg rolls, pork stuffed chicken wings and chicken satay. It was so good we ordered a second order of both the egg rolls and chicken satay. It was a little pricey but had a reasonably priced Cote du Provence rose. Service was friendly and fast. Good find!! read more

I had the shrimp noodle soup as an appetizer and the red curry with chicken for my main course!!!! i was in heaven! the shrimp soup was light and flavorful, the curry was rich and creamy and delicious! The place is small but cozy. Me amd my husband came just before dinner time so we were the only.one there. Tried the pho on cold and rainy evening. Soup very tasty and rich. The beef was perfect, tender and juicy. Service also great. Great value too. read more

Stumbled upon this restaurant not knowing it was in a book of Top 100 restaurants in Paris. Me and my family were enticed by the lovely scent of food coming from the restaurant when strolling in the area one night and vowed to come back to enjoy a meal before we left Paris. The meal and service were exquisite and it was a nice change up from the typical Parisian restaurant. I particularly enjoyed a papaya salad with Shrimp and a Cod Fish cooked in banana leaf. Avoid! The owner came out and yelled at us, for ordering $25 of desserts and coffee. This was after they took our order and served it. As our desert wilted in the heat, he lectured us on other places to only order desert. I offered to leave then and there, but of course they wanted our money...beware. We were given no indication by the waiters that ordering desert only was some sort of crime. PS, the desert we suffered for was the usual tourist fare, and in no way special. All the food we tried here was delicious. We were just wandering down the street looking for asian food and we chose this place out of several nearby asian eateries. We knew it must be special because of the Zagat sticker in the window and also the need for reservations. Since we didn't have a reservation they were able to seat us outdoors in the cold evening air . Because of the outdoor wind my order was unavailable due to it needing a flame heating pot. My alternate order was delicious as well . My wife loved her special 3 course meal and soup appetizer. read more

Excellent pineapple salad appetizer, but pho left much to be desired (according to my dining companion, although I'm almost convinced they were just too accustomed to MSG-laden vietnamese food to appreciate a cleaner broth).
