Destiny is always super upbeat, a great conversationalist and (albeit 4-6 weeks between visits) always remembers what we talked about last time and what was/is going on in my life. Not to mention she is an incredibly talented hair stylist, I would constantly get compliments on my hair after I started going to her! As time went on Floyds kept falling apart. The front desk girls were rude and unwelcoming, when you would come in they make customers feel like we are inconveniencing them.. sorry to make you do your job. But because my experience with Destiny was so good, I did my best to overlook the failing infrastructure of Floyds. A few months ago Destiny told me she had opened her own place within a few hundred feet of Floyds, I was psyched. The Gents ATX experience feels like a ride in a luxury Mercedes compared to the 1994 Ford Taurus that is Floyds 99. Destiny and (also former Floyds standout) Kelsey have created a great atmosphere and offer FREE beer/beverages/snacks. I've been in 3 times and they always have something cool playing on the tv or stereo. Their online booking takes a minute and provides me with a text reminder the day of (and email reminder the day before). I can't speak highly enough about my experience at Gents ATX.

Instead I left with a balayage on the front half of my head, where there are giant black chunks of my natural hair color. The "bright" money pieces I asked for around my face are excessively warm and look harsh considering there's no blending into the deep black. I was told to live with it for a week to see how I felt about it, and I went home crying. When I called asking for an adjustment they told me they had no time to repair within the next 48 hours as they were too busy, and so now Im left with trying to find a new salon who will remedy this on short notice because it is try unlivable for time and money spent here. My assumption for price range (I thought) would be your typical city prices of $55-$75. But I should have asked first because the total upon checkout with a 20% tip was a whopping $146.10!! I enjoyed the friendly attentive staff and Ashley's professionism and cuts (obviously as I returned several times). Hearing that Ashley had transfered to Bee Cave/Lakeway I went ahead and made an appointment there yesterday (Wednesday April 30 at 10am). I was told Ashley had upped her price by $10 in an advanced email prior to my appointment. The email also stated that any NO SHOW of my appointment would result in a 50% charge on my credit card on file. The total drive from my home to Wild Orchid was over 45 minutes. Upon arriving a few minutes before my appointment time, I was greeted by at least 3 people offering me something to drink, which was greatly appreciated for the customer service. But after waiting for nearly 10 minutes for Ashley to show, I left because Ashley didn't call, text or notify anyone anything about her NO SHOW. And still today, I have yet to hear of any apology or excuse as to why she didn't show or call. Not a word from management either. I should expect a 50% refund from my last appointment. Neither was I offered a included hair wash with any of my previous appointments that I was unaware it came with the cost of the cut. I thought I'd found the one stylist I could depend on to do my hair the way I wanted and was willing to travel over an hour and 15 minutes round trip to get. But I will NOT be going back to Ashley nor Wild Orchid for anything UNLESS they make this right. So far, I've heard nothing.
