Lesson learned: check the timing of any show at the Pitman theater before heading over. We put in a large order and sat down to wait. Big crowd then lined up and put their orders in. I realized they were headed to the show. All their orders of pizza slices and salads were filled before ours. Our final order took an hour to arrive and we got attitude when we asked about it. There are no fountain drinks, either cans or bottles. Don't ask for ice if the soda was just stocked and not cold - you won't get accommodated. Pizza was decent, wings were great. Parm sandwich was barely warm, not much cheese or meat. Will come back for wings though. read more

We came in on a busy night, the owner was the only one working. He was so polite and took his time with us. Such a nice guy! We got a plain pizza, crispy fries, and cheesesteak Stromboli with added American cheese and banana peppers. The pizza had ZERO flop, and the sauce and cheese were perfection. The Stromboli was a cheesy marriage of cheese and steak and was crispy and not doughy at all. It was SUPURB! The pizza place itself is clean and cozy and the kids loved it in here. My cousin and I were in town visiting for a Yelp event. We were not sure of the food to be had at the event. To err on the side of caution, we stopped in for slices. The restaurant was not crowded and there were plenty of seats available. It wasn't rowdy or loud at all. Nice place to sit and enjoy a meal with family. The menu options were many, but we didn't have much time to spend. My cousin and I both ordered a slice. I ordered Cheese and she ordered a Vegetarian slice. The pizza was not too oily and cheese was just right!! The crust was thin and had a nice crunch to it. The young people behind the counter were super friendly and patient as we decided what we wanted to order. They had a variety of drinks (I wish they sold SmartWater or even Deer Park but they don't!) and snacks available by the counter. Usually we have no complains about this restaurant, owner is super cool and nice but today we came to pick up our order that we ordered through their website and order said 35 min till pick up so we waited 40 min and came inside to pick up and one of the employees was on his phone sitting away from register and not paying attention and comes to register and says we never put the order in it , came in right now so we haven't started it yet and we than had to wait an extra 30 min for food. Finally a great "nyc slice". Crust is thin with the base crispy thin. Cheese is real and topped upon a fresh, bright, not overly sweet homemade tomato sauce. It's heated to perfection and when you bite into the crust, it's a perfect bite!! They are super friendly and accommodating and after searching and trying tens of pizza slices after moving to south Jersey from nyc, I was so excited that I ran to the counter and thanked them profusely!! The younger proprietor (I unfortunately forgot to ask his name) said he's been making slices for 35 years! I couldn't believe it as he looked so young. This was an all together weird experience. My friend ordered, then we went to order and the guy taking the order aggressively asked "was this supposed do be added to another order" we clarified and let them know it's a new order. We got our pizza fairly quickly- we were told that there would be a wait for the garlic knots. They ended up coming out 45-50 minutes later. I wouldn't call the service the friendliest. Went here to kill some time before volunteering at the theater and to get a bite to eat. Got there a little after opening, so it wasn't busy. Place was clean and nicely decorated. Staff was pleasant and took a quick second to see whether ot would dace me money to buy slices vs a whole personal pie. Food was good and prepared fresh. Only downside is that the place charges you a little more if you lay by card. Seems to be a theme with places nowadays. Tonight, I ordered 3 plain slices of pizza for my husband and a chicken Caesar salad for me. The man at the front counter was nice, but that was just about the best part of the whole experience. My husband's slices were all burnt. He took one bite and immediately threw the box in the trash. That says a lot, because he is not picky at all and will eat just about anything. My chicken Caesar salad was okay, but nothing to write home about. The chicken was fresh, but was really lacking flavor. The supposedly "homemade" Caesar dressing that is advertised is most definitely not. It tastes exactly like the Caesar dressing you get at most other pizza shops. Most of the kitchen staff were young men cursing and gossiping while working. I really don't mind, but considering the rest of the experience, I decided to note that. This was such a disappointment! My GF and I were here more than an hour before our show's start time across the street. We ordered stromboli and 2 cans of soda, $27.55 total. We waited, and waited, and waited...and after 30 minutes, I went to the counter to find out what was going on. I was told that the stromboli they made needed to be remade and it was already in the works. So we waited, and waited, and waited. Finally, after almost 50 minutes since we placed our order, we had to leave to go to the show. We went to the counter and said we need a refund, and we were told that the stromboli was now ready for us. Too late! We had no time to eat at that point. If they had come to our table after the initial issue, we would have ordered some slices instead so we'd have time to eat. So our refund was in cash, and when we got outside I saw that it was only $22! So we paid $5.55 for 2 cans of soda (and wasted almost an hour of our time). Terrible! We would have been fine with some slices and our soda if we had known that they messed up our order when it happened. So we left hungry, and we had popcorn at the theater for our dinner. And on a minor note, the cans of soda were marked as $1.25 on the cooler. On the menu, $1.29 for cash and $1.34 for credit card. But although I was not given an itemized receipt, I did see "2.98" flash by on the register when my order was taken. There might have even been a credit card surcharge on top of that, but we certainly weren't charged the $1.25 listed on the cooler!!! All in all, a terrible dining experience. With so many other options near the theater, we'll go elsewhere before our next show. And after getting a partial refund for the stromboli, we paid $5.55 for 2 cans of soda!! They messed up our initial order, they never informed us of the delay, they never served us our food in a timely manner, and they only gave a partial refund, leaving us with a $5.55 charge for 2 $1.25 cans of soda. My favorite place to go for take out dinner! The owner is amazing, always willing to make customers happy. The buffalo chicken egg rolls are my absolute favorite EVER! On Broadway in Pitman, there are three pizza joints. I have not tried the brick oven place yet. I have only ever had slices here. I like their slices. The dough holds up. It's always fresh. The owner is personable. The prices are good. Two slices and a can of soda is $4.00. Excellent price these days. They aren't the largest slices I have ever been served, but they are tasty.
