This was me and my boyfriend 1st experience at Atrox and the scare was top notch. We got there an hour early before our 7pm time slot and managed to get a decent parking spot. Getting in, you need to head towards the ticket booth for them to scan your QR tickets and get your hand stamp before getting into another line for the hunted attraction. As for the hunted experience, you will definitely get your money worth if you scare easily. I'm not gonna describe the details of the attraction since I don't want to spoil anything, but just be careful inside. The actors themselves take their jobs seriously in scaring the heck out of their victims. Would definitely recommend Atrox for anyone that's looking for a thrill and 1st time experience. read more

Went here with my gf and a couple of friends. I don't scare easily at all so Halloween isn't necessarily for me on that tip. The main thing I can admire is the time it took and the detail it took to create this set up. They recommend purchasing online even though it is cheaper at the ticket window. I understand the claims of not wanting you to miss out if you don't get to the ticket window in time, but you still have to use it to get stamped even when you do pay online. I have a weird skill of navigating through dark places with distractions so thankfully our group didn't run into any walls (I was the lead). Is it a fun pass time? I believe so for those that are easy to scare and enjoy that thrill. May be more suitable for kids, however, there were several adults that looked like they had a great time. read more

Atrox Factory is so cool! We went on the final night of the season this year and despite being crowded, the lines moved quickly and there was plenty to distract us while we waited! Celebrity meet and greets, horror movies on the big screen, fire dancers, and tasty food vendors are available. Atrox is incredibly well done. There has been a lot of time and effort put into the different displays and the actors are superb. There's a scare for everyone, whether you fear clowns, chainsaws, dark, or enclosed spaces, at some point you WILL have to face your fear! The actors here are very touchy. I have really long hair, and almost everyone touched it. Definitely worth the trip! read more

We went for the first time in October. I've been to MANY Haunted houses in my lifetime. Just in 2021 alone, we visited 7 events. 2 of those events had 5 different houses. So we went into 16 different houses. Atrox was, by far, the most intense. It is on a whole other level. It plays with all of your senses. They had a TON of actors. The props and overall decor was just amazing. We just visited their Christmas event, Atroxmas, last night. I will say it is not at the same intensity as their Halloween event, but it is still very fun. read more

Halloween season 2017 my husband and I went to a total of 13 haunted houses. We Hit 5 in the Atlanta area the night of September 29th and then went to the remaining 7 (all in the Central Alabama) throughout the month of October. Here is our favorite haunted houses in order: 1) Netherworld 2) Nightmare's Gate 3) Atrox 4) Paranoia 5) Hellbilly Hollow 6) Nightmare 3008 7) Warehouse 31 8) Hollis Haunted Chicken House 9) Insanitarium 10) Sloss Furnace 11) Mountain Creek Trail of Fear 12) Folklore (only BAD haunt we went to) 3) Atrox Factory- "Best in Alabama" (8.5 out of 10) (Wed night) Total time on site: 40 minutes....Total time in haunt: 12 minutes I rank Atrox as the best haunted house in Alabama, but 3rd best overall. We went on a Wednesday night (10/18/17) to avoid the lines and crowd. It was easy to park, get in, and get our tokens. There were plenty of security as there always is so safety is never a concern. They already had the stage setup for the actress that is coming this weekend. There was also a food vendor truck out back for anyone who wanted to eat as well as the concession stand inside. They have a few sets put together in the waiting area as they do every year and a projector playing an old movie on the wall as they always do. They had a monster walking around scaring people in the waiting area (there are normally more, but I assume with it being a weeknight they only had one). It took 6 minutes from the time we got our tokens for our token (Skulls) to be called. Because there wasn't a lot of people they let us go in as a couple without any other people in our group. (We prefer this because we don't have to worry about loud, obnoxious people in front or behind us.) Once in the haunt we quickly understood what the theme was and scares started within the first few feet. We also immediately noticed how much different it was this year from last year. For the past few years, the initial setup was similar....creepy guy in an old study who opens a hidden doorway in the bookcase which leads into the actual haunt. This year, however, it was completely re-done. Aside from a few familiar sets everything else was either new or used in different ways. The haunt is really well set up and the theatrics were well done. As far as the actual sets and layout go I would say it rivals our #1 haunt (Netherworld). Many haunts overwhelm you with so many things in each room that you can't appreciate the detail because it takes too long to look at it all before you have moved on, but Atrox did a great job of putting a lot of detail into each room without overwhelming you with too much to look at. I screamed a lot in the haunt, tried to run several times, and was impressed by the amount of physical contact I received from the monsters (the more touching the better in my opinion). I was impressed as well with the amount of time the monsters spent of trying to scare my husband (all failed attempts), because every haunt we have been in focuses 99% of their attention on messing with/scaring me. However, my husband was touched on his head, neck, arms, and legs several times so it's nice that they didn't leave him out lol. We were in the haunt a total of 12 minutes and that is my only negative feedback. To put it into perspective (only comparing the indoor haunts we have been to)....Netherworlds main haunt is 20 minutes & their secondary haunt is 10 minutes. Paranoia has 2 haunts each lasting 10 minutes. Nightmare's Gate has 1 haunt & it lasted 25 minutes. Insanitarium has 1 haunt & it lasted 16 minutes. So out of all the indoor haunts, we have been to our total walkthrough at Atrox was the shortest. Even though it was the shortest it was still one of the best. Between the great setup, well-done makeup, and good actors I say that it was the best Atrox experience to date (this is our 7th year going to Atrox). read more

Hats off to these guys for putting together an A+ haunted house, year after year. We first attended in 2012 or '13 and waited at least 1hr for tix on a Sat...learned from that mistake. We attended once more on a Fri night in 2016...arrived around maybe 7pm to find NO line. Forgot to leave my folding knife at home, so had to leave that with Security after ticket purchase. No alcohol here vs. Sloss, thus 4 stars (priorities, I know). I imagine they cut overhead by not maintaining an alcohol license, plus whatever extra insurance. read more

Atrox factory is the largest indoor haunted atraction in the southeastern US. It is amazingly scary, really cool and blows every other haunted house in Birmingham away. The place is huge. I've known the guys who run the place for years and I am constantly amazed how they keep upping their game. Great sets, amazing effects and really intense actors. It ain't your daddy's haunted house. We waited in line for an hour with tickets. We were told we had to pay another $5 to get in. Once we got into the chaos of disorganization, we found the line. We waited in line for another 25 minutes. And at the end of the line, we learned we had to have a token. They pointed to a longer line. I gave up and gave my tickets to a couple. Each time I asked for the supervisor, I was given another name. This is a waste of time and money. Zero stars. read more

Great for kids... but I've been to several haunted houses in several large cities and this one struggled to suffice. Pros.. I liked that you could eat at food trucks at picnic tables instead of waiting in wrap around lines, Cons... it's a 3 out of 10 on the scary scale, they squirt water ALLLLLL over you. Paid $95 for two VIP passes. I love going to haunted houses and had traveled 2-3 hours for some. I drove 3 hours to come to this place. Not to be over dramatic but this is by far the worst experience I've ever had. I am tempted to stand outside with a sign that says "turn around and don't waste your time." I literally am crying because this haunted house was the equivalent to me taking $95 out of my pocket and flushing it down the toilet. The only plus side was the fact that I didn't have to wait since I bought VIP. I scare very easily. Not once did I jump or scream. There was so many people that I saw everything before it happened. I was pushed together with strangers from the group ahead of us and behind us. The haunt lasted 15 minutes total. Seriously. The $15 haunt in my neighbors back yard lasts longer than this place and is scarier. They touch you here. You would think that might make things a little more exciting. Nope. Still sucked. I am so disappointed. Also there wasn't anyone signing autographs so I couldn't even look forward to that. The best part of this is the VIP pass that try wear around your neck. But at this point as soon as I get home it's going in the trash because I don't even want a reminder of this place. Hauntpay says no refunds. Atrox Factory, can I please have a refund? Seriously. As far as haunted houses go, this one is pretty awesome. I have been going every year for the last five years. This year, there were a few too many long, dark corridors with nothing going on. While the dark is designed to disorient, it does allow the adrenaline to drop off a bit too much while encouraging a little too much vigilance, so an avid horror fan is expecting the next scare when it comes. Meeting Kane Hodder was cool. The special guests / legends of horror make this experience unique among the haunted houses I have gone to. They need to get someone from the Walking Dead to drive over from Atlanta next year. read more

Just drove nearly two hours and paid over $150 for VIP entrance. The 4 D thing was a total waste of money. You pretty much sit in a dark plywood box listening to a recording and someone throws water on you. Our whole group was bored. The haunt itself had great props but not scary . So many wasted chances for a good scare . The only good thing is we didn't have to wait for hours to be disappointed . read more
