Great show! Personally, being socially awkward I really appreciate having access tot he bar before the show started. Keep in mind it is truly interactive, so be willing to have your guard down and participate. I loved the interaction and how it involved everyone. The food was excellent!!! My wife and I attended and had an ok time. The actors were funny and had a lot of energy. The show goes to 10 than the advertised 9. Not sure why they didn't use the hotel sound system. Just a heads up this is NOT a socially distanced event. It encourages mingling and you are at a table full of people. The room holds about 100, not sure why they didn't use the extra ballroom for more space. Enter at your own risk. Food wise - The chicken was a bit dry and the server took my wife's food and my salad without asking. What is the rush? read more

It was fun and interesting for someone that had never done this sort of thing before. But...They told to arrive early but then started late, the room was boiling hot for at least 30 minutes into the evening before the HVAC guy finally fixed the thermostat. I read it and it was over 80F on a winter night wear everyone is dressed in warmer clothing. It was a bit disorganized in whether you were supposed to get up and mingle and ask questions or sit at your table. There were no introductory clues about the mystery. Food was ok but not spectacular as advertised. I had the fish and it was ok ordinary. There was a cash bar and it was salvation. What a fun night out this was! My wife and I went to the dinner detective at the redmont hotel on the weekend. The show was really well put together and very fun, I don't want to give to much away but be prepared to participate, have a good time, laugh a lot all the while a murder mystery is playing out. The murder mystery occurs around your meal. The meal starts with meats, cheese and other savory delectables, followed by a salad, a choice of fish or chick on a bed of collard and sweet potato purée and finally some cheese cake for desert. The food was very good and better than I expected, water and sweet tea is complimentary and adult beverages can be purchased at any time. If you like to have fun and aren't to embarrassed to participate you will have a very fun night. read more

There were so many things wrong, I don't know where to start. I have always wanted to attend a mystery dinner, unfortunately this was not the experience I expected. You're told to arrive early, then they started late. The room we were in prior to moving into the event space was HOT, people were sweating. You are told to start interrogating the other guests, but because you have no idea what the crime is or even a synopsis for the evening, it's pretty pointless. You're in a large room and they don't use mics so you may miss something. The four course meal was a joke, the appetizer was nachos, nothing classy about that. Next up, the salad, it was wilted. Next, the main course, dry, unseasoned chicken, with rice and green beans. Finally, the dessert, strawberry shortcake that was horrible. It was served in a glass jar, the cake is what appeared to be old pound cake cut into chunks with a strawberry glaze and whipped cream. Don't be fooled by the reviews on the website, they are clearly for other cities, not Birmingham, this is not 'the Cadillac of murder mystery dinners'. If you are gluten intolerant DO NOT GO TO THIS DINNER! I was servers a chicken dinner that immediately made my stomach hurt. When desert was served the staff tried to tell me that the cheese cake was gluten free... I am very disappointed . Worst date night ever. I would never recommend to anyone.
