My bike was vandalized! The thief took my seat, stem, and entire headset. I went to Atown bikes to get some replacement parts. My bike is nothing fancy, just a straight forward, simple bike. Can I vote 6 stars? The owner here is beyond helpful. I was looking for an XL size bike within a certain budget I had never had a bike specifically suited for me so he let me test a few ones out. I found the one I wanted but it wasn't in stock. I called around, no one had it but everyone could ship it in for like $50. This place had no shipping charge! The couple that runs this place are very friendly. I brought in my cheap Schwinn bike that I bought at Walmart to get tuned up and walked out with a smile on my face. The bike works better than when I brought it in and it was assembled in the store at Walmart. Atown Bikes helped out that deaf man in Sacramento whose hearing impaired modified safety equipped trike was stolen by actually giving him a replacement! They deserved to be on the news for doing that and from now on I'm going to buy any of my parts through these guys. It makes sense to support the people's businesses who step up to help our disabled fellow man. I'm SOLD. If there's a part you need then go through these guys to order them and if you need a bike then put Atown as your priority in who to buy from. Owners (husband and wife) were incredibly helpful. We got a great deal on a set of mountain bikes. We are beginners and have had a lot of questions about maintenance and just getting started. They are consistently available and have helped us get off to a great start. We have even called on their days off (not that I'd recommend bugging them on weekends), and they have always gotten back to us. A small shop, but lots of selection. Involved in the community and very customer oriented. Questions? Call ahead of time, they'll trouble shoot it for you over the phone or via text. No need to drive a long way for nothing. read more

I seemed to be more of an annoyance than a customer when speaking to the lady (I'm guessing the owner) When regulars or personal friends came in she spoke a lot nicer to them. This place is great. Duke has given me fantastic deals on a Klein road bike and a Dolce bike as well. The other bike shops sell some used bikes as well but not even close to the deals that Duke gives. I also have noticed that the other one or two shops that are very close to A town have an "elite" type of attitude which I don't like at all. A town is friendly and very helpful. read more

My wife and I wanted to purchase exercise bikes. Looking for lighter quality bikes instead of the heavy box stores types I live in Auburn and like to buy local Visited the local shops in Auburn and they pretty much blew me off .Basically stating here's what you need one choice,one brand,without really listening to what I thought I wanted. Then met Duke and Christy at A Town.Duke was very patient and showed me a wide range of bikes from $250 to several thousand. I was convinced that I need a carbon frame and high end gear set so it would be fast and lightweight .Duke walked me through all the options available. He knew that I didn't need a high end bike but listened anyway. The next weekend Duke let us ride several bikes around Auburn so we could see and feel the difference in materials He had a Giant Fastroad SLR Disc on the floor in my wife's size and it was discounted $350.She tried several others and bought that bike on the spot Still convinced I needed something even lighter I kept researching online. I went back the following week with all the bikes I thought I wanted and Duke did a side by side comparison.Finally the light bulb went on I was basically looking for a high end road bike to dumb down into a hybrid.Paying for all the upgrades Id never need. So I ordered a 2017 Giant Fastroad SLR. A week later it arrived and Dukes shop assembled tuned and fit it to me. I love it Its nice looking, fast and relatively light. Just what I wanted. Looking forward to getting in shape and having fun. Also want to give a shout out to Josh. He helped me the day I picked up the bike. Josh even installed the bike rack on my car. Duke is a great guy! He is honest, helps kids in the community and takes the time to get know the usuals that come in. He goes out of his way to help and never tries to get you to buy more then what is needed or asked for. My only problem is his wife.. She is short with kids and doesn't treat them respectfully. They are paying customers and it seems like they are good enough to take their money from her but not good enough to be treated right. :( Just because of Duke he is our first choice to shop at his shop for bikes and bike parts. read more

When I turned to Christy and Duke over at Atown bikes I knew I would be in good hands. They were helpful and very informative on what bike would be a good fit for me. Fantastic local business! Stopped in several weeks ago to look for a bike for my husband to take to Burning Man. Not wanting to spend a lot and less than a week to plan/get tix/fully equip a BM experience! I explained to the owner our situation and he kindly informed me he had a bike in the back that would be perfect for my man. Living downtown near the bike shop, the owner knew my man by sight and was able to accurately guess his height and weight (impressive) and knew the bike would be perfectly suited for him. Since the bike hadn't been "tuned up" (which is why it was in the back) we couldn't take it home that day...which was a problem since it was Saturday and the shop is closed Sun and Mon AND we were leaving for BM Monday. So the owner stayed late and did a full bike tune up...so we could take it home! My husband so loved the bike that he is fixing it up and is going to use it as his regular everyday bike :) Since then he has walked over several times for various tools and bike parts to fix/maintain/tune all of our families bikes...A-town bikes is our favorite local bike shop :) read more
