I went in on Friday the 13th (December 2024) and I got four lobe piercings done and I got matched with Cozy. For a hectic event everyone working there was super friendly and it was a really fun vibe going on outside in the back and inside the shop. I've had these piercings for almost a year now and for somebody who has a notoriously hard time getting piercings to heal these came out amazingly well and I've had no major issues at all. Cozy even indicated that the top piercing on both lobes actually ended up hitting cartilage (small ear problems) which I could hear and feel when the piercing was going on (ew!) and warned me that it might make it a bit harder and longer to heal, but it still went fine and really healed up nicely! As a note: if you do go on a Friday the 13th make sure you get there early enough because it does take a while and be aware that you sign up/form a line behind the shop, not out front on the sidewalk. read more

Clearwater Island location was only open a week when we stopped by. Walk in session on Friday the 13th. People were in and out but Bret P. focused on what we wanted and got it done. Medium sized tattoo that was a bugger to cover the previous ink but Bret is an artist and made it look great. He took his time to get the sizing and placement right. I never write bad reviews, but I couldn't not warn people about this place. I always wanted a cartilage piercing, and I've always been super picky about which artists I go to. I've heard bad things about Atomic for years, but when you're with friends that hype you up sometimes you just make decisions against your better judgement. I was told to wait 4-6 months for healing time, and I waited the full 6 until I changed my jewelry. I quickly found that my piercing was done diagonally and not neat. I've had HELL this past week with now wanting to change my jewelry back because the hole closed in on the jewelry I originally changed it to. It was an overpriced piercing all to most likely end in having to let it close up and not be re-pierced because of scar tissue. Moral of the story: don't go to atomic, and don't let friends convince you to go against your better judgement when it comes to shops/artists. read more

I went in yesterday and asked if there was someone who could do a daith piercing. The two men told me the piercer would be there tomorrow. I went the next day, and two different guys were sitting around playing on their phones and watching Karate Kid 2 or 3. Neither day did I see any customers. I asked about a piercing and one of them said she would help me in a minute. They went back to their phones and movie while my husband and I stood awkwardly. A girl came up front. Mumbled about filling out paperwork and took my id. I don't think she looked up once. Then she went to the back and disappeared. More standing awkwardly while the two guys watched Karate Kid. After a while, I was so uncomfortable about the whole weird situation, that I took my paperwork and left. I'm too old to deal with their millinional angst. Unprofessional and rude. No wonder I didn't see a single customer either day. I decided if they are too checked-out to make eye contact, then I don't want them sticking holes in me. I left and went to Kill 'Em All Tattoo. The guy there shook my hand, told me his name, and was very helpful from the start. There were also other customers and neither of the employees were watching tv or stuck in their phones. This place has the worst customer service. I got here at 8pm for a Friday the 13th tattoo and waited for 4 hours only to be told that I wouldn't be getting a tattoo because they were "tired" and "running low on supplies with only 2 people tattooing". Wish I would have been told that before wasting 4 hours of my Friday night. Not to mention, the staff made no attempt to offer any sort of make up for the following day. Absolutely terrible customer service. They did not offer make ups and said it was too bad that they couldn't give us what we wasted 4 hours for. At the very least they should have let people who waited come back the following morning and honor the same price/flash sheets. This is crap and I will not be returning ever. read more

Mid life crisis. Got my first professional tattoo at 62 years old. Was sctually a cover-up for a mess I created when I was 17. Artist, Corey Pogue actually was able to creat a design, based on what I wanted, with a few "tweeks" I was impressed with the careful prep, and overall cleanleness. I was completely satisified and finally had something on my arm to show off. In fwct I was so happy with the job, I returned a few months later and got something to match on the othernarm. My best friend had some great work done here so they referred me here. After yesterday I am very disappointed with the service at this place. I don't doubt that there's probably some fantastic artists there, but my experience was awful. I called yesterday at 3pm asking if there would be anyone available to do a tattoo around 7 (they are open til midnight). The guy on the phone said there was a couple people coming in at 7 and to call before we come to see if there's anyone. So I called at 7:45 and asked and they said yeah, come in. So I drive the 30 minutes there and told them I was the one that called. We discussed my tattoo on further detail and they introduced me to an artist named Conrad. We waited for a half hour to speak with him while he finished with a client. Then he came over and asked me why I was filling out the paperwork that the guys at the desk had me fill out. I said they told me that he could do my tattoo tonight. He scoffed at me and said "I'm sure they did.." Then he proceeded to show me a drawing of a similar tattoo that I wanted that he already had. No. I wanted the tattoo that I described. He told me that it would cost $3,000. I was asking for a smaller piece on my shoulder. I don't care who you are, the size of tattoo that I wanted would never be $3,000 at any shop EVER. Then he tried telling us he had people "who just called and are coming in." Obviously he did not know that WE were those people. When he found that out he tried talking me out of the tattoo altogether. When I told him that's what I wanted, he said "I'm just not feeling that tattoo today, it's the end of my day and I'm ready to drink a beer." There were more than 4 artists there and only one client left in the chair, I was the only client waiting. He clearly wanted to close early. It was 8:30 when we got there and their shop doesn't even close til 12. He then proceeded to tell me to "get my sh*t together and call to make an appointment." The thing is that I am not the one who needs to get my stuff together. I DID call before I even came to try and make an appointment and the told me twice to just come in. The thing that sucks is that I have gotten some GREAT work done at St. Pete Atomic Tattoos and I went out of my way for a place that was referred to me. Now due to the way they treated me at this location, I will not go back to any location. If this is the way a corporation wants to run a chain, and hire these kinds of artists... I won't support it. There's too much talent elsewhere to have to be treated like this here. read more
