Monique's is really one of the best in all of Pinellas County. They've been around for decades and always consistently providing high quality body art. Billy is an amazing piercer. He did a triple forward helix for me back in 2015 after my ear had already rejected a daith done by someone less experienced. He is so kind and an expert in his field. He also makes jewelry!! Most recently I asked if he could create a custom helix earring for me out of a ring that belonged to my mother. Within a couple weeks I had a beautiful earring with so much sentimental value. I live almost an hour away but I'd still never go anywhere else for any piercing needs. PS - Please take your babies here instead of the mall for their ear piercings. Took my 5 year old daughter here to get her ears pierced for her VPK Graduation per her request. This is the place to go. Everything is clean and sterile and most importantly, the staff was amazing with my daughter. They showed her videos of other girls her age getting their ears pierced so she understood the process beforehand. They were so delicate she barely even noticed when they did each ear. I was looking for a place that did piercings and the Yelp community steered me to Monique's and piercer Billy. My sister wanted to get a new nose piercing to replace an old one and I tagged along for the ride. I have piercings and am fairly well inked up, so the first thing I look for in a shop is cleanliness. The shop was absolutely clean and well set up. The staff were all very friendly and even asked me about the artist who did my work. Billy was super friendly and relaxed. After all of the preliminary paperwork and aftercare instructions, we went back to his private area and he got right to work discussing my sister's previous piercing experience, measuring, and selecting jewelry. He was really meticulous about the placement. Her piercing went smoothly and she has been very happy with it. She said it was not only a much better experience, but the healing went far more quickly. Billy makes custom body jewelry. I mentioned that I have had issues finding a hoop that will fit my nose piercing. Billy said he could make a custom for me in rose gold, silver, or gold. I asked if he could ship for me and much to my surprise, he said he could have it ready in minutes! He again measured and considered the size, then put the hoop in for me. I've never had a hoop that fit and I am beyond happy with it. I absolutely will visit the shop again for future piercings/body jewelry. Highly recommend Billy and Monique's. Would rate 0 stars if i could. Friend and I came in about a week and a half ago (im 18 and shes 19). We were both looking to get our nipples pierced. When asked for ID I explained that my ID wasnt in my purse but I had a picture of it and my old permit (before I had a license) , that they could see, since my birthday is the same on all obviously and honestly I didnt feel like walking back to the car unless I had to. They told me they couldnt accept it, which was 100% understandable, so I told them I could go back out to the car to grab it, which I did. Upon bringing my ID in, a male worker that was laying on the couch came up to inspect my ID and then gave it back to me, all in the midst of my friend and I asking basic questions to the nice girl who was helping us (like the pain scale for the piercing, etc,etc). We were still asking questions when a lady on the coach interrupted us and goes "it's gonna be a no for me". In which I was really confused, so I tried re-explaining my ID situation, to which she rudely cut me off saying "it's too many questions" and was repeatedly saying "WERE GOOD" in a hostile tone. It wasnt until we left, and my mom called the shop that they were trying to switch narratives and say we could come back but by that time we said F that and were already on the way to a WAY better , kinder, professional and FARRR more RESPECTFUL shop. Anyways, If you need piercings done go to KILLEM ALL TATTOO ! Instead of this entitled shop that uses 'safety' as an excuse to be lazy and lounge just because they cant tell the difference between a fake and real ID ;) *Oh also, upon deciding to come to this shop, we were really looking forward to being pierced by Billy after seeing all the good reviews , but unfortunately he was out of town so I just wanted to clarify that Billy had nothing to do with this situation. Okay so this was technically my first ever piercing as I had my lobe piercings when I was just a baby. They were professional and clean and even put a little bit of less stress on me since I am prone to ear infections (in which they used stainless steal). I have a very hard job being an R.N. and taking care of a kid with Lyme Disease. This was my first tat and I'm not young. When I spoke to Ari at first he said he might not be able to do what I wanted and the way I wanted. He went into the back and then came out with exactly what I wanted. It was placed on the inside of my arm. The only part that was uncomfortable were the shading on the cross. The price was $100 and when you pay they ask if you want to add a tip. My left piercing is significantly lower then my right so many people have pointed it out. I have yet to get a tattoo here, I got most of mine done out in LA and have been searching for an awesome place locally to pick up where I left off, and I think Monique's is it! I went to Billy a couple of weeks ago for a nose ring, and he was incredible. So many shops I've been to have been demeaning, cold, and stand-off-ish, but he was so genuinely cool, glad to have me there, and he helped me pick out exactly what I wanted, and did a fantastic job on the piercing! Plus, many other shops told me they could only pierce with steel jewelry, while I wanted something clear or flesh colored to stay hidden, and he had a clear piece that did the trick! Although I have done this about a couple dozen times now, I still get freaked just before I get anything done. He was so smooth and calming, and let me change the positioning several times so I was fully happy. As for the piercing itself, of course it hurt, but he really made it quick, and it's healing beautifully. He custom makes gold jewelry fit to your body, so I'm looking forward to going back for that soon, once my nose is fully healed, and getting a new tattoo there as well! read more

I came in for a septum piercing and the piercer was great, I was a bit anxious but my eyes didn't even water. The piercer gave me a sheet detailing the aftercare instructions beforehand as well and did a great job explaining the care and keeping of the piercing. He did a great job finding my sweet spot keeping in mind I may want to flip the piercing up to hide it just in case, and the needle was in and out very quickly. On a pain scale of 1-10 it would of been a 0.5 and then I was a bit sensitive after, no biggie. My friend got her nose pierced here and had a similar minimal pain and kimd staff experience. If I was to get pierced again i'd definitely come back. read more

I stopped in at Monique's after reading the reviews for local tattoo shops. I was pleasantly surprised that the reviews matched perfectly with my overall first impression. I can honestly say that I feel at home everytime I walk into Monique's. I can also say that Billy and the rest of the staff are extremely welcoming. My tattoo was done by Thomas, and it was executed perfectly. I had a piece that required lot of precise line work. I sat down and consulted with Thomas and he made suggestions that would make it look even better. I can admit I am happy I listened to Thomas, not only did it come out looking great but it by far exceeded my expectations. Since my initial visit nine month ago, I have had four more tattoos done by Thomas. In addition my wife has had four pieces done by him as well. Since moving to Clearwater, Monique's is the only shop I have been too and will continue to go for my tattoo's or piercings. The shop is clean and the employees care about what they do. So I will be clear, I did not get a tattoo, I am not against them but just the thought doesn't cross my mind. However, I was asked to accompany a good friend of mine on the one year anniversary of her mother's passing. One of the ways my friend wanted to remember her mother was tattooing the GPS coordinates where they scattered her ashes. Tom was the tattoo artist and printed out several scenarios so my friend could decide what part of her body she wanted it on and what size. Tom not only was extremely patient during her indecisiveness but also had a witty sense of humor that brought a smile to her face. The work was done perfectly and expeditiously.
