Hands down 10 stars , highly recommend! My friend and I wanted piercings on Friday and walked into Monique's shortly before closing . We were greeted by Bella who was so helpful and knowledgeable she asked what we wanted , made suggestions and even in my case I thought I was "re Peircing " two of my old Peircings I haven't worn in 20 years but she explained she was going to check to see if the holes were still open . The fact that Bella could have charged me for a Peircing and jewelry but said she was going to check to see if we could just get the jewelry in was one of the things that stood out the most , I love an establishment with honest people that aren't just trying to make a $ and genuinely love what they do . Bella was a whole vibe and so sweet and gentle for someone who's jabbing you with a needle ! They had a GREAT selection of body jewelry and the establishment was super clean ! We got several piercings and it was so nice that Bella took her time even though it was close to closing time ! I highly recommend Monique's and that is where I will continue to go for my body art needs ! read more

An amazing experience at Monique's. I have multiple Tattoos but the first time here. I had JD do my tattoo. He was patient and went through a few renderings for me until I found the one I liked. I have to say that two hours went by very quickly to do the fact that he and I never stopped discussing various topics. I love the tattoo I received and the pricing is very reasonable. I will be back with my wife in the near future for a little tattoo that she would like. Billy's crew is the best read more

Super cool people for piercing, just don't get anything advanced. tldr: the male piercer that works wednesday and thursday has an ego and used incorrect jewelry several times, eventually nearly causing me to have to go to the ER for a nesting/near embedded cheek piercing. long, reading: My current set up at this moment is : clown eyes, bridge, nostrils (one each side), septum, vert labret, and dahlias (most recent, got in jan 2026). I started with the nostrils and got 2 ladies that took care of me in every sense of the way, even showing me the best way to clean them. I was also lucky enough to have them do my clown eyes. It was great having a shared goal to get everything even, the piercer with me even bringing in other people to check. However, my issue started when I got the labret and bridge. For context, I got the labret out of town but it dramatically shifted to the left when healing so I removed it to get redone. When going back in a few months later, I am told they don't do those and I'll have to come back wednesday or thursday for the more experienced male piercer. I don't see him do anything sus until he grabs 2 curved barbells. While I do have knowledge that bridge are done with straight bars, I know it is common for older professionals to use the curve so I don't say anything. When sitting down, he examined my previous scar on my lip and started shaming the previous person (while i understand it still put a strange vibe). When I feel him put the dot i mention "if you're planning to line it up with my teeth it'll turn out like that again." He dismisses me and assures me that it looks even to him. Yes it looks even but, with future knowledge, i can tell you it's not. it is still slightly to the left but i really can't be bothered to spend the money to get it done a third time just for me. Strike one. When moving onto the bridge, i ask about the bar. as i assumed he reassured me they "used to do it this way all the time". it is now lopsided and, while this can't be entirely his fault, it still has yet to heal completely. I am considering healing it over and going somewhere else as i dearly need to be symmetrical. strike 2. The nightmare i shouldn't have bothered with was with my dahlias. I again am asked to wait for him as it's a delicate spot and can be botched easily. fine. on the day, i see him again grab 2 curved barbells. i think "surely those aren't for me, this is a cheek piercing even I know that cheeks swell." sure enoug, in go the curved bars. i really should've walked out. they looked good for about 1 day. once the swelling started it wasnt long before the ball on the inside was starting to tunnel. since i had gotten it done on thursday and this is the only place in a 20 mile radius willing to tackle dahlias, i am forced to wait it out. when going in wednesday the following week, i have a hole in my cheek and the other is catching up quick (keep in mind this is all near my mouth so i'm barely able to even talk without some pain). while i admit this may have been rude, i did say to the receptionist when signing in, "i told you guys this isn't the right bar and you didn't listen". she of course didn't relay this to the piercer and seemed rather offended that i'd question his methods at all.? to their credit, they changed the bars no charge but that was certainly strike 3 4 5 and 6 double play. if y'all read this and remember me, sorry not sorry i still have the long bars in the dahlias and it's been 6 months now. no teeth chipped like you were oh so afraid of. read more

Monique's is really one of the best in all of Pinellas County. They've been around for decades and always consistently providing high quality body art. Billy is an amazing piercer. He did a triple forward helix for me back in 2015 after my ear had already rejected a daith done by someone less experienced. He is so kind and an expert in his field. He also makes jewelry!! Most recently I asked if he could create a custom helix earring for me out of a ring that belonged to my mother. Within a couple weeks I had a beautiful earring with so much sentimental value. I live almost an hour away but I'd still never go anywhere else for any piercing needs. PS - Please take your babies here instead of the mall for their ear piercings. The mall rips the ear versus an actual needle that pokes a little hole. read more

Wow, what a great place! Called beforehand to schedule an appointment with JD McGowan after doing reviews research and seeing his art. Front desk was great and handed me over to JD, himself. Got a same day appointment for exactly what I wanted ~ old version Playboy Bunny on my back left shoulder. He was super sweet, meticulous, and clean. Explained everything as he went along and made it as painless as possible. I had a really great experience for my first tattoo and will go back if ever decide to get another. Came here for my nostril piercing a couple years ago and I remember it being a really nice experience! The lady who did my pricing was very kind and explained everything to me (I was 16 at the time so I was a lil scared lol) and the piercing healed nicely. I also started to pass out while going over aftercare and the staff handled it amazing! They just gave me a lollipop and made sure I was ok before sending my mom and I on our way read more

I went to get both my nipples pierced and Shay was extremely kind and professional and explained everything thoroughly and did a perfect job! I genuinely can't recommend her enough. I visited Monique's to get my nipples pierced one year after getting them done elsewhere. I had a few questions since the first time did not go as planned. Billy was so professional and answered all my questions while making me feel comfortable and at ease. The whole process was very quick and (almost) painless! Truly night and day from my first experience. I will definitely be going back in the future and would highly recommend anyone looking to get pierced give them a call! read more

I was looking for a place that did piercings and the Yelp community steered me to Monique's and piercer Billy. My sister wanted to get a new nose piercing to replace an old one and I tagged along for the ride. I have piercings and am fairly well inked up, so the first thing I look for in a shop is cleanliness. The shop was absolutely clean and well set up. The staff were all very friendly and even asked me about the artist who did my work. Billy was super friendly and relaxed. After all of the preliminary paperwork and aftercare instructions, we went back to his private area and he got right to work discussing my sister's previous piercing experience, measuring, and selecting jewelry. He was really meticulous about the placement. Her piercing went smoothly and she has been very happy with it. She said it was not only a much better experience, but the healing went far more quickly. Billy makes custom body jewelry. I mentioned that I have had issues finding a hoop that will fit my nose piercing. Billy said he could make a custom for me in rose gold, silver, or gold. I asked if he could ship for me and much to my surprise, he said he could have it ready in minutes! He again measured and considered the size, then put the hoop in for me. I've never had a hoop that fit and I am beyond happy with it. I absolutely will visit the shop again for future piercings/body jewelry. Highly recommend Billy and Monique's. Thanks Billy, for giving my sister a positive piercing experience and for the awesome custom hoop. read more

I got my nose and belly button pierced here in high school. Great to see them still around. Met Kevin through my brother about a year ago and since then we've had more than a few tats done combined. Took my 5 year old daughter here to get her ears pierced for her VPK Graduation per her request. This is the place to go. Everything is clean and sterile and most importantly, the staff was amazing with my daughter. They showed her videos of other girls her age getting their ears pierced so she understood the process beforehand. They were so delicate she barely even noticed when they did each ear. And then gave her a ring pop at the end. It was so smooth and so easy and they were absolutely amazing. read more

Me and my friends went to this place today (only because no one paid a bit of attention to us at the first shop we went in).  We were greeted by a really nice guy. My piercing was over and done with in about 2 minutes. I didn't quite get the girls name who pierced it but I absolutely love her and and how quick and efficient she was. Also want to add this is my second time getting my industrial pierced and the first time it was pussing and swollen for the first week. Nightmare experience! I went here to have assistance putting my original nose ring back in because of inflammation caused by a nose ring. While the piercing lady put a new ring in my nose, I mentioned it was more painful than the actual piercing itself and when I looked in the mirror I realized she made another hole in my nose!!!! I was bleeding a bit because she stuck the ring through the actual bump on my nose ! I cried so bad leaving this place. This is my face! I had to go to the original piercer and we had to remove the ring completely because it was even more infected her shoving a ring through my nose. I won't say the girl wasn't nice but she wasn't even apologetic and professional enough to admit she made a mistake. DO NOT EVER GO HERE!!!!! I showed up with my piercing below the bump. And left with the ring above the bump-NIGHTMARE. read more

Excellent staff in a clean modern and spacious shop. I just got tattooed by Kevin, he is exceptionally talented with his attention to detail, artistic style AND talent. I couldn't be more impressed with the quality and craftsmanship of my newest Japanese style tattoo. He drew it better than I could have imagined and executed it perfectly! Clean sharp lines, awesome colors and beautiful quality work. He made me feel very comfortable and was informative about everything down to the tools he would use, and proper after care. Would rate 0 stars if i could. Friend and I came in about a week and a half ago (im 18 and shes 19). We were both looking to get our nipples pierced. When asked for ID I explained that my ID wasnt in my purse but I had a picture of it and my old permit (before I had a license) , that they could see, since my birthday is the same on all obviously and honestly I didnt feel like walking back to the car unless I had to. They told me they couldnt accept it, which was 100% understandable, so I told them I could go back out to the car to grab it, which I did. Upon bringing my ID in, a male worker that was laying on the couch came up to inspect my ID and then gave it back to me, all in the midst of my friend and I asking basic questions to the nice girl who was helping us (like the pain scale for the piercing, etc, etc). We were still asking questions when a lady on the coach interrupted us and goes "it's gonna be a no for me". In which I was really confused, so I tried re-explaining my ID situation, to which she rudely cut me off saying "it's too many questions" and was repeatedly saying "WERE GOOD" in a hostile tone. It wasnt until we left, and my mom called the shop that they were trying to switch narratives and say we could come back but by that time we said F that and were already on the way to a WAY better , kinder, professional and FARRR more RESPECTFUL shop. Anyways, If you need piercings done go to KILLEM ALL TATTOO ! Instead of this entitled shop that uses 'safety' as an excuse to be lazy and lounge just because they cant tell the difference between a fake and real ID ;) *Oh also, upon deciding to come to this shop, we were really looking forward to being pierced by Billy after seeing all the good reviews , but unfortunately he was out of town so I just wanted to clarify that Billy had nothing to do with this situation. It was the white lady with dreads, and honestly cant remember what the guy looked like. read more

I have yet to get a tattoo here, I got most of mine done out in LA and have been searching for an awesome place locally to pick up where I left off, and I think Monique's is it! I went to Billy a couple of weeks ago for a nose ring, and he was incredible. So many shops I've been to have been demeaning, cold, and stand-off-ish, but he was so genuinely cool, glad to have me there, and he helped me pick out exactly what I wanted, and did a fantastic job on the piercing! Plus, many other shops told me they could only pierce with steel jewelry, while I wanted something clear or flesh colored to stay hidden, and he had a clear piece that did the trick! Although I have done this about a couple dozen times now, I still get freaked just before I get anything done. He was so smooth and calming, and let me change the positioning several times so I was fully happy. As for the piercing itself, of course it hurt, but he really made it quick, and it's healing beautifully. He custom makes gold jewelry fit to your body, so I'm looking forward to going back for that soon, once my nose is fully healed, and getting a new tattoo there as well! read more

I have a very hard job being an R.N. and taking care of a kid with Lyme Disease. This was my first tat and I'm not young. When I spoke to Ari at first he said he might not be able to do what I wanted and the way I wanted. He went into the back and then came out with exactly what I wanted. It was placed on the inside of my arm. The only part that was uncomfortable were the shading on the cross. The price was $100 and when you pay they ask if you want to add a tip. The wording are to remind me, to not despair. They are also the actual songs to Christian artist, Big Daddy Weave (Overwhelmed)and Jonny Diaz (Breathe) Ari did a great job read more

I stopped in at Monique's after reading the reviews for local tattoo shops. I was pleasantly surprised that the reviews matched perfectly with my overall first impression. I can honestly say that I feel at home everytime I walk into Monique's. I can also say that Billy and the rest of the staff are extremely welcoming. My tattoo was done by Thomas, and it was executed perfectly. I had a piece that required lot of precise line work. I sat down and consulted with Thomas and he made suggestions that would make it look even better. I can admit I am happy I listened to Thomas, not only did it come out looking great but it by far exceeded my expectations. Since my initial visit nine month ago, I have had four more tattoos done by Thomas. In addition my wife has had four pieces done by him as well. In speaking with other customers while waiting they also expressed there pleasurable experience and most I spoke with were repeat clients. I would highly recommend this shop without hesitation.
