I had picked out a particular multicolor hoop, and Andy advised me that it wouldn't fit correctly, so he suggested another ring instead. So I picked a pretty rose gold hoop. Me and my wife have had 2 tattoos a piece from this "shop" over time. Out of 4 artists there, there was one who had done both mine and my wife and did decent work. The other tattoos are bad and barely visible. Today we went to attempt to get the 3rd tattoo for the both of us. Arrived at 9pm and the there was 3 tattoo artist there. Someone told us 45 min wait possibly we ended up waiting almost 2hrs and then the artist says he'll only be able to do one while the other artist just leave. That was my last time going there. I was here with a buddy of mine who wanted to get a tattoo a couple of weeks ago. He wanted it on his butt, which I understand in the tattoo world is not the most favorable place for an artist to work. We had spoken to someone on the phone at Atomic who told us they did walk ins. They were very friendly on the phone so we figured we would give it a try. We walk in & let the man at the counter know what (a name in simple cursive lettering) & where we wanted the tattoo. The guy at the counter told us to have a seat & wait for an available artist. We sat & after about 10 mins an artist came over & asked the question again. My friend showed him a picture of what he would like to get, & he was told that anything on the butt would be at least $180. After waiting on the couch (about 25-30 mins) for the artist to return we decided to leave & try another tattoo shop just a walk away (All-Saints tattoo) The people at All saints told us they could do it for $100 & were overall more friendly & inviting. I didn't even get a tattoo but I still felt the need to write a review about this place. I would urge people to at least visit All-Saints & get a quote from them. Their art was just as good imo, & for almost 50% less. Would give 0 stars, but it was overall very clean in Atomic & their couches are very comfortable, so it made the long wait a bit more bearable. read more

I went here to get a tattoo (big roses on my left shoulder for $150 flat rate) done by Cody and I can't tell you how pleased I am with my tattoo also he wasn't rude and he was also patient and he tried his best to make me comfortable for the hour it took. The tattoo took awhile too heal but after it did it looked good! I have gotten so many compliments and even a friend who now wants to get a tattoo here. I would definitely recommend everyone that's looking for a tattoo to this place. And I also got my belly button piercing cleaned here because I had bad keloid scarring from another tattoo shop and I kid you not!! The scarring went down over night ! My artist was Ben Depietro (I hope I'm spelling it right). Ben did an awesome job. The piece is by far the biggest I have and we did it in 3 sittings. He was very laid back and easy to be around/talk to for hours at a time. He was very detail oriented and went above and beyond what I asked for (gave me way more detail than I thought was possible for the piece I wanted). Great work - the best tattoo I have. The rest of the staff were great too. Very laid back, friendly and professional. They always asked if I wanted anything from Taco Deli when they went on a food run. Good guys. I walked in and talked to a guy earlier in the day at Good Times Tattoo in Round Rock. The guy treated me very poorly as soon as I walked in. I thought I was put off tattooing the rest of the day. But I decided to not let it ruin my day, and drove over to Atomic Tattoo the same day. I was in and out in about 15 minutes. I just wanted a small red heart. They were very friendly, and didn't act like I was bothering them for requesting something so simple (which I worried about because of my experience early in the day.) They take cards! (which is unusual for a tattoo place). Overall, a very modern facility, and a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. I will return for more complicated work. read more

I'm on my third tattoo, but this was my first time going to Atomic. I was a walk-in but had already looked into artists. Alex (Smith) might just be the coolest tattoo artist I've ever met. He worked with me over and over again to make sure that I got not just what I wanted, but also that my tattoo would look good over the long-term. As someone who's had bad tattoos (or tattoos that look great at first and then blur over time) please understand that if your artist takes the time to explain to you what will and won't work, know that you're in good hands. This really is a representation of their talent and is something that's going to be on your body forever, so trust their experience instead of saying "but I saw this picture on the internet." I've recommended Alex to several of my friends, and I've already decided I'll be going back to get cover-ups for my bad tattoos. I came in to buy new earrings and the people here were super friendly. The guy (I don't remember his name) told me that since I had my ears at a 12 for a long enough time, I could stretch to an 8 without a problem. He did a good job stretching my ears for me and he made sure everything was clean and I would definitely recommend this place to a friend. I called in asking for industrial bar jewelry selections, I've had my bar done for about 7 years now but had an issue where it fell out and needed a new one to replace it. Initially, I went into a shop in San Antonio and purchased a bar. However they did not measure my bar correctly. My bar was pierced significantly shorter than a standard size. They told me they did have a selection of sizes so I went ahead and went in. Justin helped me yesterday and I was thankful for his assistance in actually measuring my bar size AND even going the extra mile by removing the bar I had gotten at another shop (that was infecting my ear and entirely way to small) and replacing it with the one I purchased at Atomic. I have several friends who have gotten tattoos at Atomic and were very happy with them, so I made the decision to get my 4th tattoo here as well. I wanted a small Venus symbol on the top of the bottom knuckle of my middle finger. Cameron was the tattoo artist, and as he drew on the rough draft in sharpie, I said over 3 times that I was not happy with the shape, that the circle was not round, and he made feel stupid for saying I wasn't happy (he eventually said "I've been doing this for 10 years, just trust me." So I did. He did the tattoo quickly, and the circle was very uneven when he finished. I expressed my concerns, and he said "it's a circle." At this point I was on the verge of tears. I am extremely unhappy with the tattoo, but Sean at the front desk comforted me in letting me know that the tattoo will be fixed after it is healed. However, even if the tattoo is fixed, it will be thicker than I wanted it to be. I paid $80 for a tiny tattoo that is uneven because the artist was too prideful to admit he needed to correct it. read more

i literally started crying over how pretty and amazing kain did to fix this tattoo. the other tattoo i got tatted at forsaken tattoo, i always go to atomic , the one time i didn't it ended up like that and it was stuck on me for two years because i wanted someone who was very passionate and amazing at tattooing. i go to different atomic locations here and there and don't really ask for a specific artists because everyone that works atomic is amazing anyways ! but my last visit , kain did my tat on my ribs and it was one of the least painful tattoo i ever gotten and it was on my RIBS! he did it so fast and smooth and is a very fun person to talk to and he made me feel very comfortable and relaxed and he was all about going into detail and making sure i walk out happy , and i sure was . i SPECIFICALLY wanted him to fix up this sunflower tattoo on my wrist that i've been embarrassed of for nearly 2 years because he seemed very confident in his work. i came in today and he had everything set up , i signed the papers and we went right into fixing this. and he kept hyping me up on how pretty this looks and he told me what he was doing and what was left the entire process. when he told me he was done i looked and IMMEDIATELY started crying. it came out way better than i expected. all i asked was for it to be fixed and he went all out and put extra leaves and details and lining ,i'm not ashamed of this tattoo at all, i'm going to walk around with my arm in the air to show it off i'm a very happy customer and will definitely come back to this location and kain will forever be my tattoo artist i will rely and go to from now on. i cant find anyone better than him! thank you kain you're a real one thank you for fixing something so ugly into something so beautiful . i'm obsessed read more

I went to see Andy to get my deaths pierced; he was amazing there was not that long of a wait on Sunday when I got it done and he walks you through the whole process.... The reason I got them pierced was because I kept getting awful migraines and I read up on them and the reviews too on getting your deaths pierced. I got them pierced on 03-04-2018 and I still have not had a migraine and for the past two or three months before I got it done I was having migraines EVERYDAY horrible excruciating pain, NO more pain yes it is a little expensive but in the end Getting them pierced was TOTALLY worth it. Ok I'm not going to name names, but N 183 location here in Austin leaves much to be desired. Here is why: I grew up here but hey, its ACL so you gotta expect more folks in town. As a business you expect it. If you can manage not to be too grumpypants about it you might even make some money with it and also gain a few new clients. Went by yesterday to see about a little arm cuff/band around my sisters forearm. Reception by main guy was warm but he was done for the day. From then on grab your sweater cuz it was frostville. The two artists we spoke to looked like we had just barfed on their counter when we asked if anyone was available that day or the next day anytime. Sis lives in another state so she was looking to get a travel tatt. I actually referred her to atomic. Never doing that again. The young lady tatt artist we spoke to said " ew..I hate doing arm bands. your arm is like... a cylinder and its really hard" oh my. well hells bells junior then by all means you don't need to be attempting it. All the while she looked at us like we had just farted in her corolla. Bad deal. The story ended well, we made a lifelong tatt friend he was up to the "cylinder challenge" he did it today in under two hours and its beautiful. Go see Shaman Tattoo and not only are they happy to see you but they are super skilled. read more

This place is really awesome if you want a more original tattoo. If you want some off the wall or simple tattoo go somewhere else and save your money, but if want something that is artistic and creative come here. I wouldn't say it is expensive because you are paying for quality art that is worth it. My artist was Ben DiPietro, and I got a DNA molecule tattooed on my hip. It was awesome because he has a little bit of a biology background, so I would definitely recommend him for a biology like tattoo (animals, molecules, ect.). He is a really great guy and was easy to talk to during the tattoo. He also was good about taking small breaks during the tattoo, so getting the tattoo didn't hurt as much. Another thing that I liked about Ben is that he takes into consideration how the tattoo is going to fit your body and tries to figure out exactly what you want before it goes on your body. He is an amazing artist that graduated from UT's fine arts department, so he knows what he is doing. I like my tattoo so much, I want go back to him to add color to it later. Overall, he was great, and I had an awesome experience. I also got one of my dermals removed because it was infected (because of my own poor care). I don't remember his name but at the time he had long black dreads. He was great too, very professional, and you could tell he knew what he was doing. The removal process hurt about as much as getting them, maybe a little less. It was cool though because he was able to rub the dermal the the surface and just snip the skin that anchored it down. He also took the time to push some of the infectious pus out, which was greatly appreciated. My dermal removal healed up to almost normal, minus a little scar tissue. The cost of the dermal removal was very reasonable as well, $20 I believe. Overall, I love what Atomic Tattoo does and the their employees are great and friendly. I would totally go there again if wanted some other body modifications. read more

If I could give this place NEGATIVE ratings, I would. I'm sorry but you'd have to be an idiot to think this place is remotely decent for piercings. I'm not talking about the tattooing....i have no idea about that. I'm strictly speaking about the piercing here. I walked in, the guy at the front was nice, it's the piercer I have issues with. Now, I'm a serious Womanist. I LOVE female piercers and tattoo artists. I actually flew to Black and Blue Tattoo in Cali just for this reason. So, I was actually excited about getting pierced by a female. Too bad she had a shit attitude. She had a line of people to pierce and seemed really flustered and in fact when we came in, said: "I feel like when there's a line, I need to speed things up." Um....no, please. Take your time when poking holes in my body...thanks. Anyway, I had wanted to get my anti tragus pierced, as well as my nose re-pierced. (I've had my rt. nostril pierced about 7 different times over the past decade. I picked out my jewelry (btw, SHITTY selection of TRASHY jewelry.) I'm so used to going to places that ONLY pierce with internally threaded jewelry that I totally forgot to ask if the jewelry was such. I got marked up and she was getting ready to pierce, when I remembered to ask about the jewelry, and was told it was externally threaded. I KNOW that especially on my body, I will not heal if I'm pierced in my ears with externally threaded jewelry. So, I said, "I'm so so sorry, but I can't get my anti tragus pierced with that jewelry." Which is when she got the MOST sarcastic look on her face, huffed and said: pfft...why not? I wanted to flip her off and say, "You idiot. This is how you make your living and you know jack about piercing??" Ok....here, read this for more info: Externally threaded body jewelry has the thread on the end of the barbell, and it is placed inside a threaded hole in the ball. This means that when the jewelry is being passed through the piercing, the threads also pass through it, and then the ball is screwed into place. Internally threaded body jewelry has a threaded hole inside the barbell, and then an external thread protruding from the ball. A smooth barbell passes through the piercing, and then the ball is inserted and screwed into place. "The Association of Professional Piercers (APP) sets the standards to be followed by professional body piercers, and they make their position very clear in regards to threaded jewelry: "Threaded jewelry for initial piercings must have internal tapping (no threads on posts) starting from 16 gauge." The APP specifies initial piercings because they are the most susceptible to irritation and infection. Bacteria can reside in the nooks of the threading and come in contact with the raw flesh inside a new piercing hole, causing a whole host of problems. If you have externally threaded body jewelry, it should only be used on well-healed piercings." f you know ANYTHING about piercing, then you should know that NO piercing establishment should even carry externally threaded jewelry. And the fact that they piercer didn't know why internally threaded jewelry is superior should have sent me packing. But I'll be the first to admit that I have confrontation issues at times. If you value how your body heals, do your research, DO NOT frequent an establishment that uses externally threaded jewelry. So, I ended up getting my nose pierced, because I felt like shit about saying no to my anti tragus. This Wench, punctured my nose so badly that I started SPEWING blood. It was everywhere and running down my face and onto my clothes. She then said, "Wow, I haven't had a bleeder like this in a REALLY long time.----last time was 3 months ago." THREE MONTHS AGO??? She considers not having a bleeder like me in THREE MONTHS a rarity?? What an horrendous piercer. IT is my opinion that this idiot was pissed about not being able to cash in on my other piercer and was ticked and took it out on my nose. Like I said, I've had my nose pierced 7 different times. NEVER has it hurt like this or EVEN bled like this. I should also mention that i have had 17 different piercings on my body so I know quite a bit about piercing and what it should and should not feel like. She was TERRIBLE. Do not get pierced here. Go somewhere else, do your research and find a place that uses internally threaded jewelry. The only reason I came here was because I was new in town and a good friend said that they had heard REALLY great things about this place. read more

Don't do it. Go to platinum ink instead. The worker at atomic was a huge douche. Yelled at me for not being sure if I was 25 or 24 on the spot as he held my ID. Made me feel very uncomfortable like he was going to do a real quick and dirty job on my first piercing. I walked down to platinum ink and the atmosphere was much more friendly. When I told the guy there about my experience at atomic he said he gets that a lot. My friends stayed at atomic and said the guy was not at all curious why i had disappeared. I guess he expected that. Or just didnt gaf. Idk if it is coincidence that I was male and my friends were female and had a much more "friendly" experience. He even introduced himself to one of my friends but did not give me the same courtesy. Update: Hey owner, thanks for your comments. I think you may have misunderstood me. The word "friendly" was in quotes because they didn't actually have a friendly experience, but more of a creepy, sleazy kind of experience like what you might get from a stranger at a bar who is trying to sleep with you. read more

He did a consult and even talked through some changes on the phone prior to coming in for our appointments. He really put both of us at ease throughout the whole process! His calm and positive demeanor was so comforting before permanently adding something to our bodies! Ha. I'll respect the artists opinions and expertise but not if they're completely against me and not trying to work with me. Atomic has been my go-to walk in Tattoo shop lately, but after my experience today I will not be returning. Although most of the guys in the shop were extremely friendly, my guy was not. I got a tattoo that consists of all line work, just black, very small, and quite simple. He ended up quoting me for $200, which is more than I paid for my beautiful, colorful, leg piece. I was determined to get the particular tattoo, so I went ahead and accepted. The guy seemed very over-confident in his tattooing abilities, and it definitely showed in the final product. Not to mention, my other tattoos are done by very high quality artists. After all that, for some reason, my card was not going through, and the guy literally believed I was going to screw him when I had to run to the ATM less than a minute away. Completely 100% rude, and uncalled for. Just, don't go here. Don't give these people your business and money. read more

So I lost the ball to my barbell for my nipple piercings and just needed to get a new set, so I came here. I was greeted by Dutch, who was totally down to earth and not to mention really hot in that Steven Tyler way, so I was like, ya, I'm just gonna go ahead and get another piercing. He switched my barbells out and gave me info about why my piercings were taking so long to heal properly (which I had gotten done at another shop). I also got my smiley pierced while there and it was so fast, and so painless. He made this a very simple and pleasant experience. I'm a forever customer! Thank you!
