Absolutely a must, so much history. We met a man who had worked at the location of this historical location 49 years. An absolute wealth of information. A true lesson in government and history

Plenty of parking and easy to find on a Sunday. There's a Fallout exhibit currently going on for any fans out there. This museum participates in the Museums For All program meaning if you carry an ebt or wic card, you can get your family for three or five bucks in each. They also have other kinds of discounts, just ask! Young lady at the box office was friendly and helpful. You learn about the experiments with bombs that have been done in Nevada. They show you what a bunker would look like and there's even actual parts and pieces from real missions. They have a video you can watch with really powerful images. There's 3 other separate rooms with their each exhibits. I won't give too much away because it's nicer when you experience it yourself.

We booked our tickets online and arrived around 2:00 PM. The museum is full of history regarding the atomic age in general, as well as Nevada's specific role. We found it very interesting.

Love the discount for locals thank you! Always been a nerd for anything regarding the hidden universe and this place unpacks a lot of the atomic world with such fun exhibits. The staff were very polite and helpful. The simulator was fun and not too scary definitely would heed the warning if you are sensitive to lights, sounds and effects. My favorite was the Manhattan Project room. So heavy and impactful but teaching valuable lessons about history. I will be bringing the rest of my family here very soon!

A must see if in LV. History of research done locally and nationally. Offer senior and military discount.

Been wanting to come here for awhile now. My brother was in town visiting with his wife and brought up checking it out. We were worried it might not be open because of the government shutdown. But it was. Pricing is reasonable and it took us about 2 hours to finish the tour. Lot of information I didnt know about the test site and really learned the difference between fission and fusion. My dad and I are ww2 history buffs, so I took to the Manhattan project area. Learned more about the inner workings of how the bomb made it to be dropped on Japan and the size of one of the bombs. Place was clean, easy access with free parking.

If you love historical and science museums, this is for you. If you don't like reading and find it a big bore, reconsider as you may waste your $29 bucks. My husband and I love going to places that give us bits and pieces of additional knowledge, so we find joy in going to places like this. And we love to read. The museum laid out their exhibit so well that it was easy to understand their story - the tale of America's nuclear weapons testing program at the Nevada Test Site (never really delved into this before) and the world's reaction to it. Truly interesting...and yes, fun. Kudos to the museum organizers for managing to make if fun despite the gloomy topic. :) Worth every cent of the entrance fee and totally recommendable.

Visited the atomic museum for the first time today. Went with 2 teenage girls who enjoyed the exhibits. We spent about an hour and half here an enjoyed reading about the history. The atomic film was immersive. Some cool stuff to see in the gift shop as well.

Wow you need to come and find this place of pure atomic history. Exhibits are amazing . Don't miss the ground zero theater!!! You go through the museum store so much more to see follow the rails.

The Atomic Museum was such a fun and fascinating experience! It offers a great mix of history, science, and interactive exhibits that really bring the story of nuclear testing and the Atomic Age to life. From the moment you walk in, you're immersed in a timeline of events that shaped not just Nevada, but world history. It's perfect for anyone who loves learning about science, military history, or Cold War culture. A really great perk for UNLV students is that admission is free on Wednesdays with a valid student ID! That makes it an awesome mid-week activity if you're looking to do something different without spending any money. I went with friends and we were all surprised by how much there was to explore--from old film reels and bomb models to virtual reality experiences. If you're not a student, I definitely recommend checking Groupon before going. I found a deal for two tickets for just $40, which was such a steal considering how much there is to see inside. The museum is very clean and well-organized, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout the visit. They even had a gift shop with cool atomic-themed merch and souvenirs. Overall, I'd say the Atomic Museum is a hidden gem in Las Vegas. It's educational, entertaining, and really eye-opening. Whether you're a local or just visiting, it's worth spending a couple of hours here. I left feeling like I learned something new and had a great time doing it. Would definitely go again!

This was pretty cool. Very educational for the kids and myself. We enjoyed the fallout exhibit and the show they have in the little theater. I would suggest waiting for it.

This was a great museum, exploring Nevadas close contribution and connection to Atomic and Nuclear development/history. Some thoughtful details include chronological timelines, that not only show testing and development, but comparatively cultural (pop) events, to provide perspective as to what else was going on in the world at the time. There's some interactive displays, and even a short nuclear blast testing simulation, running every so many minutes. If you're really into this type of history, you could easily spend 1-2 hours going through it all.

If the movie Oppenheimer whet your appetite for the atomic age, then you've got to check out the Atomic Testing Museum in Las Vegas, which takes you straight into the heart of America's nuclear history. It's not all doom and gloom though--there's also quirky pop culture, vintage PSAs, and even artifacts from Area 51. General admission is around $24 bucks, and the museum is open daily except Sundays. For a blast from the past that's both eye-opening and unforgettable, the Atomic Testing Museum is must-see in Vegas.

Yes, there's a huge exhibit, theater and photo ops all dedicated to Area 51. It's to the left of the main ticket admission. Plus if you exit they the gift shop, there's even more options to take home with you. 👽

How interactive is this for kids? My kid loves museums so I'd look into an annual pass, but want to make sure she could get her times worth.

It is absolutely worth spending the extra money on the RIP All Access ticket. If you're already making the journey into one of the darkest collections in Las Vegas, you might as well unlock every forbidden door. For those seeking an even more intense paranormal experience, the museum also offers a Late Night Flashlight Ghost Tour. Guests are allowed to explore the darkened museum with flashlights and ghost-hunting equipment. It sounds like the closest you can get to conducting your own investigation--though after what happened to me, I'm not certain returning after midnight would be wise. You see, one of the dolls noticed me. Since leaving the museum, I have heard a woman whispering from the corner of my bedroom every night. At first, she only said my name. Now she tells me to come back. Last night, I woke up holding my RIP badge, even though I had locked it inside my suitcase. Still, this was easily the highlight of our Vegas trip and worth every penny. I cannot recommend it highly enough. The other thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the insistence on having exactly 13 people in each group. I understand the whole "13" thing fits the theme, but 13 people felt like too many for some of the smaller areas we were in. I'd rather they choose a group size that actually works well for the spaces instead of sticking with 13 just for the novelty. That being said, there is SO much interesting stuff inside this museum. We did the four-hour tour, and I honestly still felt like I didn't have enough time to take everything in. There are so many objects and stories that I wanted to remember. One thing I really wish they offered is a little paper or card where you could jot down notes. They are very adamant about not getting your phone out during the tour, which I understand, but I would have loved to write down the names of some of the objects so I could go home and watch the episodes or documentaries about the stories behind them. Overall, I'm glad I went. There's a lot to see and some genuinely fascinating history behind the objects. Just save yourself the extra money and stick with the regular tour. I'll probably go back again and take a notepad and something to write with so that I can try to look up more detail on some of the objects.

A little more context to some of the blurbs would have been nice, but then again there is already a LOT of information and many names involved. I did learn a lot of interesting history, and enjoyed the museum even without a prior interest in the subject matter. There were many parts of the museum that were fascinating, but I do think the highlight of our trip was listening to the speaker Frank Calabrese Jr. who was previously involved with the mob through his family. I feel like the trip to the museum wouldn't have been complete or as memorable without hearing his story. The speakeasy was also pretty cool, although I wished coming in from within the museum there would have been a little more "secrecy" or a password. The drinks were pretty good. Before we even got there, we tried one of the new Zoox autonomous vehicles that are currently operating as part of a free pilot program in Las Vegas. It seats up to four people, the ride was smooth, the air conditioning was wonderful in the Vegas heat, and you can even choose the lighting ambiance inside the vehicle while listening to either the built-in music or your own phone. The only downside was figuring out the pickup location. If you've never used the service before, you may find yourself wandering around for a few minutes trying to find the correct pickup spot. As for the museum itself, the tickets were not inexpensive, but I felt they were a fair value considering the experience and the opportunity to see genuine Titanic artifacts that most people will never have the chance to see in person. Seeing "The Big Piece" alone made the visit worthwhile. One thing that surprised me was the atmosphere. I've walked through the Luxor many times and have never personally felt anything despite all the haunted stories people tell. The moment we stepped into the Titanic exhibit, though, my entire chest tightened. Whether it was the music, the lighting, or simply the weight of the history surrounding those artifacts, the feeling caught me completely off guard. The exhibit itself is immersive, with photographs, music, recreated spaces, and historical information that really helps you imagine what life aboard the ship was like. At the beginning, each visitor receives a boarding card with the name and story of a real passenger or crew member. At the end of the exhibit, you discover that person's fate and see their photograph. It was such a simple idea, but it made the experience feel much more personal and emotional. If you enjoy history, I would absolutely recommend visiting at least once. It was thoughtful, respectful, educational, and genuinely moving.
