We booked our tickets online and arrived around 2:00 PM. The museum is full of history regarding the atomic age in general, as well as Nevada's specific role. We found it very interesting.

Love the discount for locals thank you! Always been a nerd for anything regarding the hidden universe and this place unpacks a lot of the atomic world with such fun exhibits. The staff were very polite and helpful. The simulator was fun and not too scary definitely would heed the warning if you are sensitive to lights, sounds and effects. My favorite was the Manhattan Project room. So heavy and impactful but teaching valuable lessons about history. I will be bringing the rest of my family here very soon!

Visited the atomic museum for the first time today. Went with 2 teenage girls who enjoyed the exhibits. We spent about an hour and half here an enjoyed reading about the history. The atomic film was immersive. Some cool stuff to see in the gift shop as well.

Wow you need to come and find this place of pure atomic history. Exhibits are amazing . Don't miss the ground zero theater!!! You go through the museum store so much more to see follow the rails.

Been wanting to come here for awhile now. My brother was in town visiting with his wife and brought up checking it out. We were worried it might not be open because of the government shutdown. But it was. Pricing is reasonable and it took us about 2 hours to finish the tour. Lot of information I didnt know about the test site and really learned the difference between fission and fusion. My dad and I are ww2 history buffs, so I took to the Manhattan project area. Learned more about the inner workings of how the bomb made it to be dropped on Japan and the size of one of the bombs. Place was clean, easy access with free parking.

If you love historical and science museums, this is for you. If you don't like reading and find it a big bore, reconsider as you may waste your $29 bucks. My husband and I love going to places that give us bits and pieces of additional knowledge, so we find joy in going to places like this. And we love to read. The museum laid out their exhibit so well that it was easy to understand their story - the tale of America's nuclear weapons testing program at the Nevada Test Site (never really delved into this before) and the world's reaction to it. Truly interesting...and yes, fun. Kudos to the museum organizers for managing to make if fun despite the gloomy topic. :) Worth every cent of the entrance fee and totally recommendable.

The Atomic Museum was such a fun and fascinating experience! It offers a great mix of history, science, and interactive exhibits that really bring the story of nuclear testing and the Atomic Age to life. From the moment you walk in, you're immersed in a timeline of events that shaped not just Nevada, but world history. It's perfect for anyone who loves learning about science, military history, or Cold War culture. A really great perk for UNLV students is that admission is free on Wednesdays with a valid student ID! That makes it an awesome mid-week activity if you're looking to do something different without spending any money. I went with friends and we were all surprised by how much there was to explore--from old film reels and bomb models to virtual reality experiences. If you're not a student, I definitely recommend checking Groupon before going. I found a deal for two tickets for just $40, which was such a steal considering how much there is to see inside. The museum is very clean and well-organized, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout the visit. They even had a gift shop with cool atomic-themed merch and souvenirs. Overall, I'd say the Atomic Museum is a hidden gem in Las Vegas. It's educational, entertaining, and really eye-opening. Whether you're a local or just visiting, it's worth spending a couple of hours here. I left feeling like I learned something new and had a great time doing it. Would definitely go again!

This was a great museum, exploring Nevadas close contribution and connection to Atomic and Nuclear development/history. Some thoughtful details include chronological timelines, that not only show testing and development, but comparatively cultural (pop) events, to provide perspective as to what else was going on in the world at the time. There's some interactive displays, and even a short nuclear blast testing simulation, running every so many minutes. If you're really into this type of history, you could easily spend 1-2 hours going through it all.

If the movie Oppenheimer whet your appetite for the atomic age, then you've got to check out the Atomic Testing Museum in Las Vegas, which takes you straight into the heart of America's nuclear history. It's not all doom and gloom though--there's also quirky pop culture, vintage PSAs, and even artifacts from Area 51. General admission is around $24 bucks, and the museum is open daily except Sundays. For a blast from the past that's both eye-opening and unforgettable, the Atomic Testing Museum is must-see in Vegas.

Some of the staff were very friendly. Some of the staff were very knowledgeable. the exhibit themselves were extremely informative. The latest addition to the atomic museum displays the prototype of the first atomic bomb. As well as the two bombs that were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Those two atomic bombs were referred to as "little boy" and "fat man". After the two bombs were dropped that act subsequently led to the immediate surrender of Japan and the end of World War II.

This is a Vegas treasure! If you haven't been there, it's a must visit of Vegas history that is unknown to most people. I learned so much about the history of the atomic bomb in both Nevada and internationally. Their new interactive exhibit provides great bite size chunks of learning for even the littlest of learners. Make sure to not skip out on the film either.

Very cool place on the edge of the UNLV campus...got a good deal for admission through Groupon which cut the cost somewhat...the museum is very cool and you can easily spend 2-3 hours inside depending on your interest level of the exhibits...very spacious and clean...lots to see, and read about, with numerous videos as well...the theatre towards the end is really cool and somewhat simulates the feeling of being in a blast zone area...it is also a reminder and reality check into how dangerous these weapons of mass destruction have and continue to be to society...this is truthfully more of an adult oriented museum, small children and pre teens would probably not have much interest in the topic presented here...free parking but one star off because they do charge a fee to use one of the audio sticks for the tour...RECOMMEND

Is there currently an exhibit on Area 51?

Yes, there's a huge exhibit, theater and photo ops all dedicated to Area 51. It's to the left of the main ticket admission. Plus if you exit they the gift shop, there's even more options to take home with you. 👽

How interactive is this for kids? My kid loves museums so I'd look into an annual pass, but want to make sure she could get her times worth.

It's easy to walk through and not overwhelming at all. We went last Friday and it wasn't crowded which made it even more enjoyable for our 3 year old son. He especially enjoyed coloring his own mythical creatures, scanning them, and then watching them come to life on the big screen. We also loved the star raindrops exhibit and seeing all the impressive colors. It took us about two hours and we could have easily stayed longer. We enjoyed a beverage at the Arte Cafe towards the end of our experience, which was fun and interactive. Our son loved drinking his chocolate milk while watching the balloon in his drink. It was so cute. The staff were very friendly, well-organized, and helpful. They advised us that if we want to pay extra for the Arte Cafe that it's best to buy it at the main entrance of the museum for $5 per person rather than at the cafe which was $7 per person. A few things I would recommend: - Use a Groupon deal if possible. We paid $48.99 per person for NV residents. Our son was free since he's only 3 years old. - There's valet parking at city center where there's an escalator that takes you directly to the entrance of the museum. It's $15 dollars for NV locals. - The only restroom at the museum is at the main entrance so be sure to use it before going through the exhibits. I highly recommend visiting if you enjoy immersive art. We will be back for sure!

However, I did not have a good experience with Meow Wolf the business. I had a very small window of availability in Vegas because I was only transiting through for a very short time, and I was really excited to check out Omega Mart. First, we bought tickets for one day. Two weeks after the purchase, Omega Mart sent me an email that they had decided to open later on that specific day and rescheduled us to their new opening time. I asked for a refund, stating we could not make that time. They refused to refund me at first, telling me to just change the day I visit. I think not refunding immediately was poor on their part, since not everyone is from Vegas or in town long enough to be able to accommodate when they suddenly decide to change their hours. Next, on our last night in Vegas, we realized that we actually would be able to squeeze in a 2 hour visit from sometime after 9 to their closing time at 11 (we originally planned to spend the next day, our last day in Vegas, there). Around 7pm, I tried to call Omega Mart to figure out logistics (how sensitive the ticket windows are). However, the phone number on their VEGAS website redirects to a line in DENVER that has different hours. So we figured it would be safest to just buy tickets after we got there. Apparently after 9pm tickets shoot up to $75. That's wasn't posted anywhere, and since no one had picked up the phone, I had no way to learn that information. The way I learned was arriving at 9:03 pm. Sad.
