One of his greatest talents is that he knows how to recognize and capture your authentic expressions, even in a studio environment. This is evident when you look through his portfolio. When he gives guidance on posing/angles, he walks through the "why" of each step and how even subtle changes affect the final product. He takes the time to understand what you want to portray and what you don't, and the end result is MAGIC. Other details: The studio itself is spacious and well designed. It was easy for me to get to, and not in a super crowded, loud, or busy area. Prices are straightforward and fair - there are no surprises. Another thing that I appreciated, even before the photo session, is that his website is impressive and extremely easy to navigate. Most, if not all of your questions, are likely answered on the website. You can easily book your session directly. Bonus points - he made it himself! Jonathan took the time to meet with us (and even a few family members) several times before the event, and was always very prompt and professional in his communication. From helping us decide what services to go with, to planning out the flow of the day, Jonathan was extremely helpful and walked us through the whole process. We are so happy we chose to have our rehearsal dinner photographed/videographed and were impressed at the way Jonathan and Josh accommodated a hiccup in scheduling when our priest was late, throwing off the timing of our rehearsal and dinner. Not to mention, they captured all the special moments from that dinner. Day of the wedding Jonathan, Josh, Lacey and Josh brought a sense of calm to the busyness of the day. They were fun to work with and didn't complain once about the 100 degree weather and humidity we experienced on our wedding day! I've needed to get this video done for a couple of years, but I was terrified that no video production company was possibly going to 1) get me and the concept behind my idea, and 2) go the locations I knew I needed, bearing the necessary equipment. Jonathan not only got my idea and was beyond excited about it, but he enthusiastically dragged his production gear down a slippery "trail" to a backcountry waterfall, out to the beach, and around some cliffs in the Columbia River Gorge--smiling the whole time. And the video? HOLYCOWITSSOAMAZING. Jonathan took my concept and utterly transformed it, to the point where I cried when I saw the first draft--it immediately connected all the pieces of nature and people and language and made it WORK. One I found off Pinterest if I'm being honest. Knowing I had an idea but no clue HOW to make it happen. I simply asked a question "how can we translate this into photos" and Marina answered with a huge spark of curiosity. This organic curiosity to understand my needs was so refreshing. A zoom call interaction helped us (aka Marina brainstorm). We had a vision in a matter of moments. I had the utmost support via prep guide and a welcoming demeanor from Marina. Always. Incredible effort, and it shows in every clip!…read more Our photographer referred us to Chris (Last Light Pictures) and after reviewing his past footage, we were eager to work with him. Chris was calm and unobtrusive the entire day. We honestly didn't notice he was there, which let us stay fully present throughout our wedding. It wasn't until we watched the raw footage that we realized how much he'd captured, including moments that showed us just how present we were with each other that day. I don't think either of us fully appreciated his effort until we went through everything. Watching the ceremony angles, you can see him running to every corner possible to get his shots (which gave us a good laugh). Whenever there was a spare minute, he was grabbing more footage, from decor details to candid moments. As a very particular person, there was nothing that I really wanted to fix. The video clearly tells a story and genuinely captures who my wife and I are. The only edits we requested were swapping a few clips of guests for other footage of family members closer to us. Even then, Chris was a day away from deleting the project file, in the middle of a busy season, and still did all swaps the same night. I'll note to make the swaps easy, we had to be very specific about which exact clips and timeframes we wanted swapped (the requested clips were only 1-2 seconds long each). Our family and friends loved the video. One cousin, whose wedding was a few weeks after ours, told us she regretted not hiring a videographer after seeing it. My only regret is not booking Chris earlier for our cultural wedding too. Highly recommend Last Light Pictures!

The BEST decision we made for our wedding!…read more Chris from Last Light Pictures filmed our June 2026 wedding at Mountain Terrace in Woodside, and he was hands down my favorite vendor! After seeing his work, we knew we wanted him specifically to capture our day. From our very first conversation, he was so generous with his time and expertise. He hopped on a call with us the same evening we asked and walked us through all our questions with so many helpful tips. He was also incredibly honest. Instead of upselling us, he recommended a package that better fit what we actually wanted: the Bronze Package with a Condensed Highlight Reel add-on. It included one cameraman with two HD cameras, up to eight hours of coverage, and all of our raw footage on a hard drive. When we asked if he'd personally film our wedding, he was upfront that he couldn't guarantee it so far out, but he kept our request in mind and confirmed he'd be there. It meant so much to us! On the day, he captured every moment without ever getting in the way or clashing with our photographer. During our private first look, I forgot he was even there and could be fully present with my husband. I'm a very particular, detail-oriented bride, and I sent Chris a long email weighing every song option for our video, from the lyrics to the overall vibe. He took it all seriously, gave us his honest take, and even sent sample clips so we could hear how each would feel with our footage. He recommended "Somebody Like You" by Keith Urban, and he was right! It left room to weave in our vows, which is my favorite part of the whole video. Chris didn't just string clips together. He crafted a real story with so much feeling, and you can feel the vibes and the love in every moment. Bonus: he even made our awkward photo poses look good! It was delivered on time, and he kept us updated the whole way. Our contract billed changes by the hour, and he only keeps project files for a short time, but when we asked to swap in a few clips of family, he made the edits the same night at no extra cost.
