ALways looking for a cool comic book shop where people aren't awkward and weird when you walk-in because you aren't a regular. Stumbled upon Atomic Comics so we went in and took a walk around. They have a very huge selection of everything - comics, collectibles, etc you name it. Everything is organized and in decent order. The people that work there are ... typical comic book folks. They are super helpful, but not super social but not awkward either. Nice place, inside, the parking can be a little a tight, but it's not bad. Prices seem to be on point with other places in the area. I like it and I am glad we stumbled upon it. read more

Looks smaller than it actually is. Comic selection is pretty big compared to some other stores. Unfortunately, they don't carry Pokemon singles. Besides that, the card selection seems pretty good. They have older magic and yugioh cards as well. The Asian guy in the front was saying that he's pretty new to comics. But he definitely didn't lack in the service department. He sold me on a sentry comic and recommended I give the new avengers a read. Only downside is that's it's kinda messy up front with all the boxes and what have you. I have known one of the proprietors of this business for close to 20 years. He started out as a tabletop card game player and comic book enthusiast. Now, he helps run one of the best shops in SoCal, in my opinion. Comics are prepared and ready to pick up when people create "pull lists." The staff is friendly and understanding. Every inch, except the bathroom, thank god, is decked out in fandom and geek materials. Do you like Power Rangers, Pokemon, Superman, Wolverine, Magic: the Gathering, My Hero Academia? They have all of that and more. If you like comics, cards, statues, toys and everything in between, then this is the place. The guy behind the counter and the owner do their best to keep prices in step, especially when it comes to new items and the driving prices that tend to skyrocket. Could not recommend this place more. $5 an hour for the arcades is a hidden gem in a not so side room in a comic book store. My husband scored cool points for sure with our 8 year old. Arms are sore from rapid fire arcade & cardio down memory lane. Lol. Highly recommend if you're remotely close in the area! read more

Everything. I've been to places not well organized and that should be such a base. This place has a vast catalog of books that invites new readers. This visit was actually bringing my GF to show her how shops work after going to another that was ALL bad. She got a bonus bad and 1 out of 2 we won a lot of fun stuff. Side note. I'm a POC reader and they had a side room of things of things to come and I never felt like I was targeted for exploring this space. That's rare. I'm 30 miles away and incapable of a pull list and hope those that are know, this is the place to be. read more

I used to go here all the time but it has gotten worse. The place is poorly organized, they don't have much of a selection, but what's worse is the service. Everytime I go in there to get help on something the staff seems too preoccupied and have no desire to assist. The last time I went there, I stood at the counter waiting for awhile for the worker to help but he was too busy on his phone so I just walked out. I'm done with this place. read more

Great LCS! I've found many back issues to fill in the gaps to the sets I'm trying to complete. I could spend days going through all the boxes, but my wife would probably come looking for me! I joined the membership program and the discounts have definitely more than paid for the cost, it's a great deal. Also, I've sold some of my duplicate back issues and got offered a really fair price for them. I'll be going back again and again. read more

I went to the store and was only there to find video games and funko pops. I found that the store has classic NES and N64 games. I went to check out the games, and he had the two Super Mario Bros. variants, the one by itself and the one that comes with Duck Hunt. I took the Mario/Duck Hunt variable since it's a 2-in-1 game. I gave him a hard time deciding what to get, so I apologized to the owner. The only minor complaint I have with the store is that the owner charges customers $5 to play only 1 hour of their arcade games. The guy could improve on it by making the games free to play. Overall, it's a nice experience, and I had fun looking at all the comics, video games, and apparel the store had available. Definitely recommended for comic book enthusiasts. read more

My Boyfriend enjoys ducking into Comic Book Stores once a month or so & I wander around while he looks for what he wants. He seems to enjoy Atomic Comics the most. The shop recently moved just one door down from itself & is now larger than before. The first time we came in, there was a card tournament going on. I had no idea what was happening (The Gathering, I think) but the participants were totally into it! Everything is well organized & there are action figures & related collectibles on display. The Owner is super nice & you can tell he has a passion for this business. He's also very helpful, buys as well as sells & wound up tracking down an issue that my BF needed to complete a series. The guy working at the store needs some customer service training and public health awareness. My partner and I walk in and the guy just says hi and goes back to watching supernatural on the TV in the back. A big red flag should have been he wasn't wearing a mask during this pandemic. we were left looking around with no help and he did not make himself available. When we were ready to check out we just stood there for 15 minutes waiting if he would come to the register until I had to go get him myself. He finally put on a mask when he got to the register and was very short with us about any questions we had. This was an unpleasant experience and unfortunately happened again when we returned two weeks later to grab some new issues. Last time I go to this shop. read more

Now I can actually buy physical copies instead of having to go far to get one only to say F-it and not buy any at all. And now I come to the place maybe 2-3 times a week! But yea back to Atomic Comic: The store is New and Roomy. Great selection of Comic, I was able to find all and some new ones that I wanted. I've been frequenting this place as my main LCS since moving back to the area, and this place is like the new and amazing S/O you have after a terrible past relationship--except with comic stores instead of actual people! This place has been pretty great, with MANY key issues in their back catalogue filling up my wishlist of comics I've wanted to own (a LOT of first X-Men appearances FYI). This place updates regularly with a lot of new stuff from smaller publishers as well, so don't worry about only finding Marvel/DC stuff! I was surprised they'd been in the area for a while, but the store itself seems to have had a recent expansion, so that might've caused the store to be a bit more noticeable. Kyle and Eric are a huge help, and they're both pretty knowledgeable about a lot of events, right down to being able to help you find a specific issue with a event (even if you badly describe it to them). The staff dedication here is great! You can definitely tell they get enthusiastic about comic runs when you strike up a recommendation discussion. read more

It's nice to have a comic bookstore that's only 5 minutes away from me in Cerritos. I've been here 3 times so far and do intend to keep coming here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There's always one guy that's there whenever I go (don't know his name) but he's a really cool guy and I've had some cool conversations with him the past few times. The main reason why I go there is to pick up their Funko POP! that they stock. For me it's a good selection that always has some goodies every time I decide to stop by. Other than that, there are a lot of comics and collectible figurines from what I've seen. Overall, very nice people and a really cool shop. Today I also signed up for the membership which is only $20 for the year, but you save at least 10% off the items whenever you get something. Definitely worth it if you plan to keep going such as myself. Keep up the good work Atomic Comics! read more
