I requested a full pack-and-ship service for a box of books, and the associate helping me (Myra) made it feel like I was asking for something unreasonable. Her attitude was noticeably dismissive and unhelpful from the start, which already set a negative tone. What really stood out, though, was that she took two personal phone calls while in the middle of helping me. I was left standing there waiting while she finished her conversations, which felt pretty unprofessional and inconsiderate. I completely understand that workdays can get stressful, but basic customer service and respect for a customer's time shouldn't slip--especially when you're paying for a service that's supposed to be handled for you. Hoping this was just a one-off experience, but it definitely left a bad impression.

Bedtime rolls in like the tide it is in our household... and she announces she needs pictures of dragons printed TONIGHT. We do most of our work online, so our house hasn't donned the headache that is an at-home printer since prehistoric creatures drank from swamps. She gives me the look... you know the one. I swear on all things holy, I'm immune to this tomfoolery. But after tiny heads hit their pillows, I find myself looking for FedEx Print & Go... nothing opens early enough or offers delivery. So I find a random print shop, Capitol Blue Print, and shoot off an email after 10 p.m. Rude, I know. But the little face keeps me up at night. Finally, I fall asleep. 4:17 a.m. I'm awakened by my younger child, who informs me she needs me to snack on blackberries with her. This face is also my kryptonite, so colander out, berries rinsed, and back in bed, I neurotically check my email. Mind you, it is after 5 a.m. at this point... CRAIG FROM CAPITOL BLUE PRINT IS AWAKE AND PRINTING THINGS FOR A CLIENT WHO NEEDS ACTUAL BLUEPRINTS. Not 8.5-by-11-inch photos of drooling dinosaurs. AT FIVE IN THE MORNING. I roll in at 8:30 a.m. to snag the pics, and THE MAN DOESN'T EVEN CHARGE ME. Craig gets a cape from moms everywhere. IF YOU ARE A CONTRACTOR, ARCHITECT, CITY PLANNER, or one of the many other folks who need blueprints, and you are sleeping on hiring Capitol Blue Print--specifically Craig, who is out here printing at 5 a.m. to meet his clients' needs--you should call your mom and reevaluate your life choices.
