I have a 2006 SportsMobile 4x4 Ford EB350 diesel and after years of "discomfort" due to the ride, I decided to upgrade and swap out the suspension. I was researching for a bit and I was talking to local shops(Bay Area) but couldn't find a local shop to build out custom leaf springs for my heavy van and to install them. I then spoke to Deaver, Alcan, Ujoint 4x4, and Atlas Spring. After weighing my options I chose Atlas Suspension in La Puente Ca. Keep in mind, I'm from the Bay Area and I would have to drive my Van there and have it there for a couple of days. I'm glad I did. First off, Chris was clear and set my expectations up front ,and he was the first shop to provide me a quote and availability. He spent almost 40 minutes talking to me and after exchanging pictures of my current setup and discussing my goals, this was a good sign and it showed that he was very helpful and responsive. The build took one day longer than we planned but in the end it was worth it. Chris weighed my vehicle, and even putting on recommended Leaf springs on the rear, the van sat 2 inches low. He then added another leaf, and it then sat 1/4 inch low and then he added another leaf which brought the rear to a perfect hight. This was the main reason why I drove down here since things like this would cause multiple iterations and wasted time with a local builder who doesn't manufacture their own springs. They also modified my Airbag system so that it sits on "floating" cups rather than being secured to the axel. And so how was the ride? We'll I had 6 hours of driving to test it out and on my way back to Livermore, btw I was also carrying my xsr900 on a motorcycle hitch, the drive was smooth, and floated like a "Cadillac" especially when I compared it to the stock Sportsmobile suspension. THe stock suspension was harsh and my family always complained of it being too rough. I also was nervous about the motorcycle in the rear where it would bounce around anytime I hit a bump or dip in the road going 70 miles an hour. Well, this problem went away and the "white knuckling" was a thing of the past with this current suspension setup. The suspension now "floats" and does what it was supposed to do. I'm super happy with the results. This is now a 6inch lift v.s the 4 inch lift running on 35's K02s. I highly recommend Atlas Suspension for anyone needing to a custom leaf spring setup for a heavy rig like mine(Gross Weight - 10,240 lbs - Front - 4280 lbs, Rear - ~6000 lbs Rear. I came here fore several reasons. I wanted the best people working on my truck and I needed a better ride. I'm not a person that complains about cost because I feel you get what you pay for but it better be the best of the best. So I added a flat bed to my truck. It was a little heavy for the stock leaf springs so I purchased a air bag setup for the rear and took it to them to have it installed. The gentleman doing their estimation work told me I should also add a spring to help out. Reluctantly I agreed because he's the pro and does it daily I have no leg to stand on and argue. I got my truck back an eternity later. Now the truck rides like I'm constantly in the Baja 1000 and when you put air in the bags one side is higher that the other because one bracket was welded nice. The other is a half inch lower and crooked on one side. I'm a busy man so finding time to fix this stuff isn't easy. I'm just bummed I went to the best but didn't get the best. read more

I took of my leaf springs and took them to atlas to get new ones pressed in, they were quick but unfortunately one of the new bushing failed after installing it, I was busy for a few weeks but once I had time I took it off and brought it to them, they instantly fixed the bushing and did it for free with no hassle, great customer service read more

Just be aware that they work with Imperial units - not metric, so do your conversions to inches to save time. Got my sway problem fixed! 2018 Ram 3500 DRW diesel and 1165 Eagle Cap truck camper. Bought truck and camper over a period of a few months in mid 2019. Stock suspension and shocks including upper overloads and 5000 lb air bags that dealer installed. Rig was very smooth on highway with bags up to 100 psi., on smooth roads. It didn't take rough roads very well and any divits in road it would jar the teeth when it hit. Since then I added upper and lower Stable Loads, Hellwig sway bar, 7500 lb air bags, Fox 2.5 adjustable shocks. 19.5 tires. Everytime I added something the sway improved and rough road performance improved but was never eliminated. Drove from CA to FL and back over the holidays and blew a rear shock somewhere on the way to FL. Getting frustrated trying to get the ride dialed in. When I got back I sent rear shocks in for rebuild and revalve. Changed valving to stiffen them up about 30%. Yesterday, got it fixed. Took rig including camper to Atlas Suspension in LA for evaluation. On the way there I noticed quite a bit of improvement with the shocks when hitting bumps. Sway was better too but not eliminated. Atlas removed the spring packs and lower Stable-loads entirely. Left upper Stable-Loads in and air bags in. Disassembled spring packs, inspected and added 2 leaves in each pack. Reassembled and reinstalled. Gained about 1 1/2" and upper overloads are now just starting to engage with 30 psi in the bags. When I hook up the trailer the upper overloads will engage and take up the load of the trailer. If I need a little bit more height I can add some air into the bags. Haven't hooked it up yet. This was an all day job. Started at 8a, done by 5pm. Hung out reading a book. Results? My first impression was driving on city streets to the freeway. No sway, none. Steering seemed stiffer. Got on freeway and very stable, no drifting. Hitting rough patches on freeway (So Cal freeways pretty bad in some places, err, most places), truck took it no problem. Got off freeway approaching home and driving around town I had to remember I had a 6k camper in the bed. This fix also took care of the camper rocking nose to tail as it wasn't being supported at a small pivot point created by the air bags anymore. Cost was $750. Cheaper than my upgraded air bag system (replaced 5000 lb bags with 7500 lb bags and onboard air system). I have yet to evaluate the ride when unloaded but I suspect it will be about the same because the added leaves will not be engaged yet. So, if you're having a sway problem or problems with your suspension on rough roads here is a possible solution for you. Find a shop in your area that specializes in leaf spring repair and modification and of course check out their reputation. Big thanks to Atlas Suspension in LA. Best $750 I ever spent! read more

I've got a large motorhome that broke a leaf spring. Not the best situation to be in. I called up to find out timing for repairs as well as pricing. They gave me a fair quote over the phone, and were able to really accommodate my schedule. I dropped it off and the check in process was super smooth. I went to Atlas spring to get my leaf springs rebuilt for my datsun. I was quoted $480 which I was ok with, the following day I get a call and was told it was going to be 100 more due to the leaf spring they had to use. I agreed, when I went to get the car it was a total of $840 dollars which I never agreed to. If I would have know it was going to be that much I would have ordered new ones online. I was not happy at all for that big price jump with no notice about it. Also my car had black overspray all over from them spray painting leaf springs near the cars, that really sucks since my paint is show quality . OK guys i'm back again. So 2 weeks back my leaf spring supports leaf on both driver and passenger side pop in half and i had to bring them back. In less than 5 to 6 hrs they were ready and back on my truck. Atlas Techs as top notch Pros. (Side note: now i have the Toyota Tacoma Shakes at 35-40mph, i know its the drive shaft angle issue but this is not the leaf springs fault . Toyota Tech. know and cant fix the issue yet.) read more

This place is great. I took my f550 to get extra leaf springs for hauling heavy loads. I talked to fernando and told him the type of work i do and the type of load i put on my box truck. He recomended how many leaf spring to add to both side to help with a heavier loads. I was really surprised how much weight it takes before you notice any sagging in the back.
