Do you like undersea adventures? Do you like dad jokes? Atlantis submarines is happy to provide both. We took the junior roommates on a submarine tour off the coast of Maui and it was a fantastic experience. I can't even explain all of the sealife we encountered, there was so much. I want to go back

AWESOME! If you see this, GO GO GO! This place is legit, and it is very educational and the team is great. The adventure was so exciting and seeing another world and seeing sharks and fish hunting fish was awesome. JJ made the trip funny and the captains were awesome and I really want to go a second time to see what happens next. Don't be scared, the vessel is sound and the way they get you to it is by boat, and when you are boarding the crew is all around you ensuring you are safe. It is a experience unlike any other.

SUPER fun, saw lots of beautiful fish, rays, a shark and many kinds of coral. The captains were really knowledgeable and funny, they played cool music and overall an awesome experience! Highly recommend!!

Had a great experience in Atlantis Submarines! A unique way to touch the floor of the ocean at 130 Ft below sea level without scuba diving. While you will definitely see a lot more variety of fish while snorkeling instead, this is still a good experience to see the ship wreck and get to the ocean floor. Reduced a star cause of the price point & number of people in the submarine, you are quite squashed together, but everyone has a window or half a window to themselves for a good view.

What a fun experience!!! We booked our tickets via the adventure & experiences concierge at our resort- the Hyatt. The tour starts off in a boat which ferries you from the pier to the submarine. I thought it was really cool how they gave us an opportunity to watch the submarine surface and we waited a very short time for the previous batch of folks to get off the submarine. The submarine trip was a very interesting 45min, filled with amazing things to see underwater, fun narration of exciting facts and jokes. I thought it was great how every seat in the sub had a cool window to look out from...the kids thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it was one of the highlights of their Maui trip. I was a little concerned about seasickness , but I was absolutely fine and did not need any medication. Definitely recommend it as a family friendly adventure!

    Love this tour!

This is a MUST do when visiting Maui Hawaii. This well organized submarine tour is sooo much fun. Yes and well worth the cost. Kids will be amazed. A beautiful boat ride to the loading area is more like a Lahaina site seeing viewing. Staff/Crew are super professional and marine safety knowledgeable. Underwater is just another experience if you love the ocean, beaches and marine life. Side Note: Boarding and off boarding might be a little difficult for seniors and little children. Something to consider but staff crew can advise.

The entire experience at Atlantis Submarines was out of this world. Cat, who checked us in, was clear with instructions and full of energy. Randy, our narrator, was funny and a delight. His stories and clever puns made the bottom of the ocean exciting and something to remember. The submarine has extra large portholes that make it extremely easy to see and photograph the scenery. We didn't go during "whale season" but we did see sharks and plenty of colorful fish. We will be back again to see the whales.

This was a great experience! To get in a submarine recreationally and checkout the bottom of the ocean without having to train for scuba diving is a great opportunity. The crew had a great sense of humor, and the playlist was spot on! I highly recommend this experience! It's very cool, you get to take so many pictures, and you never know what you'll see down there! We ended up seeing a shark at the bottom of the ocean!

Wonderfully magical experience. Way better than the Finding Nemo ride at Disneyland. Friendly staff and informative guides. You take a 10 minute boat ride from the wharf to the submarine, which gives a beautiful view of the island. The submarine wasn't overly crowded first ride of the day, and we were able to spread out a bit. The sub captain turns it around to make sure both sides can see points of interest, nobody misses out. We saw several resting sharks 10/10

What a great activity in Maui! First time on a working submarine and it was so fun! Saw a ray, a shark, all kinds of fishes, oh and a sunken ship!!! The staff were all great and friendly and very responsive on emails. Great day!

How freaking cool was this experience?! I highly recommend taking this tour on the submarine. The guide was really nice and told dad jokes the entire experience. They're really knowledgeable and the price is well worth the experience! We saw tons of fish, about 8 blacktip reefsharks, several spotted eagle rays, and a really cool sunken ship. The views of Maui were incredible and when else can you go to the bottom of the ocean, 130 ft down?

Awesome experience! Felt totally comfortable. They were very accommodating and knowledgeable! Loved seeing the underwater stuff! Amazing experience

This was such a fun experience! Our guide Brandon and Captain Ken were so knowledgeable and very funny. We saw a ton of wildlife including a shark, an Eagle Ray, starfish, and a bunch of different species of fish. Brandon told us about each species we saw and was just as excited as we all were. I can't wait to do this again!

It starts at their building in Lahaina, which has a little café/coffee shop, plenty of chocolate for sale, and a rooftop experience that looked interesting but we didn't get to try. By the time we finished the tour, the kids had reached the "we have successfully experienced enough things today" portion of the vacation. Fair enough. From there, you take a fun little ride out to the cacao farm, and that's where this became much more than "let's go eat some chocolate." Our guide, Andrew (I'm about 95% sure I'm remembering his name correctly!), was fantastic. He seemed genuinely interested in cacao, the process, the company, and what they are doing there. That makes such a difference. He talked about how cacao is grown and processed, the history behind Kuʻia, and a little about founder Dr. Gunars Valkirs and his rather fascinating path to chocolate. Then, of course, there was the tasting. Lots and lots of little squares of chocolate. This is educational work I was willing to undertake. Unfortunately, I can't tell you which particular varieties were my favorites because apparently I was too busy eating them to take adequate scientific notes. What I can tell you is that there really wasn't one I disliked. What surprised me most was how much flavor there could be in chocolate that wasn't buried under a mountain of sugar. The differences and complexity of the cacao actually came through, and it made me think about chocolate completely differently. The chocolate sample they gave us back at the counter was also fantastic, as was the coffee drink we ordered. My only regret is that we didn't buy more chocolate before leaving. Be warned, though: apparently this tour has side effects. I went in expecting a fun Maui family activity where we'd learn a few things and eat some chocolate. I left wondering about cacao varieties, fermentation, processing, climate, chemistry and several other questions that absolutely nobody in my family asked me to investigate. It's been a few weeks and I'm still going down the rabbit hole. Five stars. Great guide, fascinating process, excellent chocolate, fun for the family, and potentially hazardous to anyone predisposed to acquiring new interests while on vacation.

She taught us the different plant groups that feed each other, and what order to plant to get the most productivity (and safety! We learned that papaya makes a good windbreak for smaller and more delicate plants, and agave makes a good firebreak!). I wish I lived in Maui because I'd be planting mangoes, papayas, bananas, coffee, and cocoa, RIGHT away. It was wild finding out how fast and tall papaya trees grow! These plants don't grow well in Seattle, but we are still going to take what we learned and see how we can apply similar features for our own food forest. I appreciated the very real perspectives about what works - as well as pitfalls and challenges with their food forest / mango farm. The tour was really interesting and fun, and we even had a resident cat named Tyson who took the tour with us! SO CUTE! The view there was beautiful, and though our tour group was tiny, I could see this being a fun activity for kids and families, too. Enough safe space for little folx to run around safely, and so much is stackable. She let us try mango (and wild mangos), ice cream beans (what an experience!), fresh coffee, and more. So good! They said they are going to do dinner parties here and I look forward to coming back to the Maui mango farm when we visit next time. Hopefully we'll have some good photos to show off of the garden upgrades that they've inspired. We really wanted to do something to support the Lahaina community (without being a disaster tourist, either), so visiting a regenerative farm seemed like an awesome choice, and I'm very glad we went. It was invigorating and soothing at the same time. It was especially helpful for me to get over the mild cold during this trip. The walk was very easy and informative and we wore tennis shoes but it could have been easily done with flip flops or sandals. At the end, we were served delicious box of star fruit, papaya, and different mango samples . Also, we were given some recommendations on good local eats, cafes, and bakeries and some or then we spent time ourselves to find!! This trip was specifically for my son who is wheelchair bound and he made sure that everything we did revolved around my son having the time of this life. We learned lots about the area, laughed till we cried and felt like we met our new best friend on Maui. I really wanted to be present with my group so the fact that Henry captured photos and took videos of the day was the main reason I chose him. We received both within a couple days and have shared the video and photos to everyone in our lives. To say this was a magical, amazing experience doesn't sum it up enough but if you are reading this, don't hesitate, BOOK WITH HIM NOW!

Traveling solo, it feels weird to take selfies everywhere or worse, asking someone to take your photo. The tour was me and 2 other couples: one couple were newlyweds and the other couple were on their very 1st trip together (as a couple). (Honestly where do you go after a trip to a Hawaii?!?) We could not have had a group that meshed BETTER than all of us. Our guide Henry clearly knew "the good spots" because we didn't stop anywhere that anyone else was... he made us climb down treacherous "root ladders" and walk through the coldest water up to our necks but his ideas were always SO worth it. And he captured the best pics! I highly recommend this EXACT excursion because you don't have to worry about any photos. He has it covered, and trust me, it's truly UNFORGETTABLE!!!

We booked with Maui Ocean Project about a month before our trip to Maui. I emailed the owner, and…read moreshe responded quickly with several date and time options that fit perfectly into our schedule. She was extremely thorough about safety (huge priority for us. We have two kids, 10 yo and 7 yo) and took detailed measurements to ensure we had the right wetsuits, snorkels, and fins. Our experience was amazing. She educated us about the reef's habitats and the aquatic life we were likely to see. We even got to see an octopus and several sea turtles! My husband and kids absolutely loved it. It was truly a highlight of our trip.

Our 2 kids, age 6 and 9, had never snorkeled before and we wanted them to have a safe and enjoyable first experience. I'm happy to say Mel and Jen provided just that. Even though it was raining, they thoughtfully had umbrellas to cover us while Jen shared with us about the marine life that we would see in the ocean. They provided us with wetsuits, snorkels and masks and fins and boogie boards to hang onto while snorkeling. The kids were a little nervous about swimming in the ocean, but Jen and Mel were great with them. It was so great to have someone point out exactly what we were seeing. They knew the bay so well they even had names for the turtles we saw! When the kids got cold and tired, Jen thoughtfully took them back to the beach to get dry while Mel stayed out with my husband and I to snorkel some more. And as an added bonus they took photos while we were on shore and snorkeling. We're so excited to see the photos. We're really glad we picked Maui Ocean Project for our snorkeling trip in Maui. Highly recommend them!
