It's my pampering regiment and my body is so soft after each use. My hands and feet get really dry and rough and it's even worst in the winter. Knowing that my purchase goes towards helping a community of women entrepreneurs is a bonus and guilt free reason to splurge. The founder Rahama completes the package; she's humble and uplifts everyone around her. I am glad that the company is within reach so that I can test products in person at their shop on H St. If you haven't been- go, it's a beautiful space and sometimes other businesses hosts pop-ups there.

"Told you." Verbatim conversation husband and I had a few days after I purchased Herbal Curio's all-natural, Bay Rum scented deodorant. I LOVE THIS STUFF. It contains virgin coconut oil, unrefined shea butter, cadelilla wax, cassava starch and vitamin E for starters. And for $7.50, I consider it a steal not to have cakey, aluminum-riddled deodorant grace my temple. Plus it *works*. Also picked up a jar of Lemon Mint whitening toothpaste -- again, made from virgin coconut oil, baking soda, and essential oils among other ingredients -- and can't get enough of the delicious, clove-heavy, pumpkin-pie-spice flavor. The whitening power is ludicrous, too; you can *see* the residue the toothpaste is pulling from your teeth in the sink when you spit. A week later, I sent an inquiry of when my order would be arriving. The owner replied stating this: "Orders are taking longer times to process during the pandemic. I'm only allowed in my mall by appointment only, once a week to pickup merchandise to process for shipping at my home. Hopefully this will be over soon. Your order will be picked up from the mall today, then processed at my home before it ships. I'm hoping you have you order by Friday" that was Friday May 8th. It is now May 27th. I have reached out twice. Not only do I not have my products, but I have yet to receive a reply or a shipping notice of any kind. I will never order online products from here again. Glut has quality incense and so does Nisey' Boutique- both in Mt. Rainer, MD. I will continue business somewhere else until the pandemic is over. Update: AFTER reaching out to Victoria twice and not receiving a reply, I finally had to threaten to contact the Better Business Bureau about the poor online customer service. Victoria called me to give me this sob story about how she is busting her butt, after she had already agreed to already process my refund. While I am working- she said to me and I quote "while you are running your mouth I am busting my butt". She also mentioned that she doesn't have to be here. Then she hung up on me. Lol. I guess she was mad that I proceeded to give her advice on how to better run her business. So unprofessional. I have referred customers here and am a long time customer of 8 years. At first, I said I would not return until after the pandemic, but her calling put the icing on the cake. I will NEVER shop here again. The SAME products are available on FSM Wholesale on Etsy (for a bargain deal!), Nisey's Boutique, Glut, (both in Mt. Rainer), Smile Herb (in College Park), and MOM's.

On one prior visit, there was a hair sale going on. The curly was $1.00 per foot, but it was a minimum purchase of eight feet. Hmmm. Ok. I'm game. ....time passing... I still have five feet of that stuff left. Whew hew. Today, when I stopped by for a new satin pillow case ($3.99) (heh, just got my 'hur did'), I also found myself drawn to a pair of neon pink lurex leggings. You know, Mardi Gras is coming. In the end, I did not buy them because they didn't have my size. They are a tiny bit skittish about pictures inside so don't look for a lot of those but I will be back to this place again and again. It looks like they are replacing the old staff with people who do not speak sufficient English, know little to nothing about hair/weave, and are only interested in selling "something" to a customer, instead of helping them find exactly what they're looking for. I came in looking for good quality glue-in hair to match my highlights (which had gone from a ghastly fuchsia to a really cute 1B 33). I also wanted loose curls or loose waves, since I was going on vacation. After roaming around the store for a few minutes, I finally found someone who worked there and asked her to send someone over to assist me. She sends over this Asian woman who spoke hardly any English. Great... After much gesturing, I was able to communicate what I was looking for. She disappeared behind a set of boxes behind the counter and I thought she was looking for the hair I asked for. She was gone an unusually long time, so I walked over to see what she found for me. Turns out, homegirl was on the phone having a personal conversation. I looked at her like "Really?" and she had the nerve to smile and give me the "Hold on, I'll only be a minute" hand. No ma'am. After several more minutes of waiting for her to get off the damn phone, I finally asked the girl at the register to help me. She walked behind the counter and the Asian woman told her she helping me. I said to her, "No, you're on the phone" and told the Ethiopian lady what I needed. She was not much better. I told her the color and style I wanted, showed her my hair, and she proceeded to pull out everything I did not want. I asked for 1B 33 hair, she showed me a pack of the ugliest "33" hair I've ever seen. No 1B in it at all. And it was straight. I specifically said (several times) that I did not want straight hair. She proceeds to pull out other styles that clearly do not match my color. Finally she told me, "Well you should just get 30 or 430, because that's all we have". Wait...let me get this straight. Since your supply is inadequate and insufficient, I should just go out with my hair not matching and looking a hot mess because 'that's all you have'? Ok... The experience I had here was unacceptable. And it is not the first time the customer service has been lacking, but this has definitely been the worst. If you don't have what I need, then say so. If you need to take a call, then say so. Sistas spend way too much damn money in here to be bothered with this kind of foolishness. The customer service was the main reason I'd travel unfathomable distances to spend my money here. Those days have come to an end. They can kiss my money goodbye.
