We decided to visit Llamber a tapas restaurant on the outskirt of Park de la Ciutadella. The restaurant has a light and airy ambiance, the tables are decently spaced for a more private conversation. We then started with a bottle of Spanish Rosé together with some tapas to share. We had the patitas, black pearl oyster served with rock salt and mignonette and the chef's take on a Spanish bao bun. We found the pork belly flavorful and crispy and blended well with the bun, in hindsight we should have ordered one for each. For our main entree, I ordered paella with seared tuna while my partner chose Entrocôte served with shishito peppers and fries. We found all the dishes simply epicurean and the waiters took time to describe everything on the menu. It was well plated and the dishes came in a timely fashion and everything went well with the wine choice. We felt that we were looked after throughout the stages of the dinner. With great customer service and quality of food, this place is recommended whenever you are visiting the beautiful city of Barcelona.

I absolutely LOVED Llamber…read more We stopped by this restaurant mid-afternoon for a quick bite . . . and a few quick drinks, and were very satisfied with the food, cocktails, and service. Since we had dinner plans for later in the evening, we went with a couple of tapas and gin-based cocktails. Para comer, we had the croquetes, tartar de remolatxa, bunyols de bacallà, and everything was pretty awesome. If I had to order our dishes from the best to good, it would go the bunyols, tartar, and the croquetes. Overall, the service was pretty good. One weird part of our experience: the restaurant had outdoor seating, but we were told that all of the tables were reserved so we had to eat indoors. That was not a problem. My concern was that in the entire time that we were dining (about an hour or so), we did not see a single person use any of the tables.

We were supposed to go to Valencia but realized last minute it was too far for just one night. That led to us having more time in Barcelona so as we walked around we found the museum of history for Catalonia. After an hour at the museum, our stomachs said it was lunch time. We decided to walk around and find something and this place was right next door! We were SO happy to find a brewery with American comfort/Asian comfort food. We fell in love with their brut IPA & their Asian ribs and dumplings. We got a flight to try their various craft beers. I was too full to order the ramen but it looked delicious! Live music on Saturdays and an outdoor patio. The vibe is California chill & hipster with great music and seating spaces inside. We had a great time talking to the staff that were super attentive. Staff is friendly, and they have menus in several languages, with each dish including a beer pairing suggestion. Both times I had a highly satisfying hummus platter and patatas bravas. Basic but tasty, I liked that there were enough bread sticks and carrots to actually eat all the hummus! Great textures and flavors. The potatoes were well cooked with slightly piquant sauce and aioli that thankfully wasn't glooping up the whole dish like some places do. Very filling meal. My man had a hamburger, which was quite large and filling. He didn't rave about it, but like a good spaniard he ate the whole thing, heh. Definitely recommend trying out Abirradero for a snack, drink and sit if you are in the area.

Once you enter you are greeted by Latin music and a friendly waitress (which we have not encountered often unless it's the waiters trying to lure you into a restaurant on la rambla). The location is really nice and different with a colander or mini-BBQ functioning as lamp shades. Everything is nice and clean. They offer a variety of original Argentinian food like milanesas or empanadas. We had three different milanesas (La mano de Dios, La favorita de Leo and La Bombamera) which were all really good. We had some questions about the food beforehand and the waitress was really friendly and courteous and answered all of our questions. As drinks you can get a variety of international and Argentinian beers and cocktails. The mojitos get served in preserving jars which is pretty epic. If you come later at night the restaurant turns into a restoclub which is frequented by Argentinians. This means it should be pretty authentic (in my eyes) ;) Positive: + great food + good and very stylish mojitos + attentive and very friendly waitress + good music Negative: + nothing If you ask nicely you might even get the wifi password ;)
