    Scallops with coconut rice
    Dora F.

Finally got to go here after my husband surprised me with reservations on my birthday. Since he is allergic to shellfish his options were limited so he ordered the burger and it was incredible and I had the scallops with coconut rice which was delicious. Service was great and even the mocktail was delicious. Looking forward to going again soon!!

I liked the dimly lit aesthetic. It matched the atmosphere we were looking for. For starters, we ate the fried calamari. It was seasoned well. I ordered the lobster roll which was good but it had a bit too much of tarragon. Also, I was expecting it to be warmed but it's chilled. The shrimp and grits were perfect. I just wish it was a bigger serving. Customer service was great! I'd go back a try something different.

    Shrimp and Grits

Once again, and it's eons from being the last, my wife and I were delighted to dine at Atlantic Prime Coastal Kitchen in Franklinton. We were also lucky enough to have Alexis as our server again! We started the evening with the Florida style Fish Dip, (the absolute BEST we've ever had!), with the fried seasoned crackers. We will have to try a different appetizer, but cannot break free of this offerings grasp!!!! My wife had the Shrimp and Grits..... When I tell you that it sets the bar on what Cheddar Shrimp and Andouille Grits should taste like, you'll have to try it to believe it!!!!!! It's beyond words.... I enjoyed the Grilled Grouper with Charred Onions, Marinated Tomatoes,, Avacado, and Goat Cheese with A home made Chimichurri sauce. Delicious.... Perfectly prepared, with a postcard presentation. The decor reminds us so much of our old home in Florida, it's like stepping back in time, but with even better food!!!!! If this establishment was located on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach, there would be a line around the block to get a seat! We couldn't get a picture of the Coconut Tres Leches, as we devoured it as soon as Alexis put it down! If you make reservations, ask for Alexis! She is a credit to her craft and an absolute treasure to this restaurant!!!! And yet again, WE WILL MOST DEFINITELY BE BACK!!!!!!!!!

They have a very extensive inventory of bourbons including all the high-end ones you would want. The bartenders making amazing recipes including my partners favorite, Tom Yum, taste just like the soup. I can often enjoy a whiskey sour with no issue and use the menu to try something different. They don't serve food, so it's a good place to come after dinner. The ambiance is simple, a wooden bar and now that they have expanded, they have some tables as well. This past trip was the most crowded I've ever seen it in there, but the service was still quick and attentive. This bar is a staple for me.

For those that follow me on Yelp for brewery reviews, cocktail bar reviews are few and far between. So if I make a point of making a visit, it really is special. Great selection of product (I guess) but what I appreciate is the care and attention each glass is prepared by the bar keep. They are very friendly and knowledgeable - which is good for me, b/c I ask a lot of questions! Service is careful, but does crawl if the house is full, it really is tiny inside - did you know there was a back door, patio area? I particularly like the absence of having to yell at my table mates - it makes this barbour more sophisticated in this respect.Everything, right down to the outside marquee is subtle - and we like leaving the madding crowd far away...

A friend of mine visited here last summer and recommended it whenever I was in Apex. I never go to…read moreApex. Until a friend's meetup group scheduled an afternoon "let's have cocktails all afternoon" Friday. Yup, count me in! I got there right at the appointed time, and the early birds were already halfway into their wine. There is a large patio area outside with chairs and tables in small groups. A sunshade and some nicely placed trees help a little There are a few 2- and 4-tops scattered around as you enter. To the left is a large square bar that projects into the room. Behind it is a veritable library of liquors, towering to the ceiling, which is about 9-10 feet high. Seeing the bartender climb up the sliding ladder and fetch a spirit was part of the show. Further to the left are two seating areas with round tables. We had one of these. The Cabernet proved to be the darling of the group (I think we had three bottles and a few extra glasses, but no one was counting! There were eight of us, so don't think we're a bunch of drunks!) I had looked over the menu online and started with the "Up in Flames". It's a Tiki drink, served with a squeezed lime shell garnish that has a sugar cube and some kind of liquor in it. The waiter lights it while still on the tray, and then sprinkles in cinnamon, which sparkles into the drink. He then extinguishes the flame and serves it. It was quite a show and very delicious! If I ever go and sit outside, I'm going to film it! After a bit, we were getting hungry, so food started appearing. The fig & prosciutto flatbread arrived first, (with a single plate and napkin). It was a 12" x 6" flatbread spread with honey, figs, prosciutto, chèvre, and arugula. Another of these came out later. Quite delicious. Someone else had the nachos, which they said were amazing. After asking, the server brought out more plates and napkins. Other cocktails that we tried and enjoyed were the Perro Perdito (Lost Dog) and the Drastic Measures. The Mango-chili shrub in this one packed a bit more heat than the Jalapeño dip! But it was tasty, with the salt/tajin half-rim. After a few hours of fun food and drink and a lot of laughter, we decided to release our hold on the table. The dinner crowd was champing at the bit to take over, and we were pretty sated. Everyone was safe to drive, so we hugged all around and parted ways, well fed and better friends. Thanks, N&S. You may drag me back to Apex again any time!!
