Minor's Fences. An appropriate name for a minor league fencing company. The people that live next…read moredoor to me have had a Minor's Fence since prior to us moving in more than 4 years ago. They recently had their property surveyed and it revealed that they had a little bit more room on either side of the fence and they wanted to push it out. In planning for that, the folks on the other side of them decided to have Minor's come and match the fence on their property as well. Minor's did not put the side down where those two properties met, for it was two different projects; placing the one fence and moving the other one out. My household had been planning on getting a fence as well, but we don't like the people next to us and were looking at a privacy fence in lieu of the one that would match the other two. Having Minor's out there already and being somewhat local, my wife reached out. They never returned her call. Strike one. It took over a month for them to complete both yards of fencing. Even though they are both the same kinds of fence, the 4 panels across with the chicken wire filling in, the parts where everything connects does not match on either property. Envision an elementary art project where the teacher opens the supply cabinet and the kids can use whatever they want. That is what the fences look like with sides raised and panels not flush. Strike two. In waiting for both yards to be done, we had DanDale come out and put up our privacy fence within 10 days of us initially sitting down and figuring things out. Phenomenal job from start to finish. The part that aggravates the mess out of me is the boundary was still marked from the survey. Our fence was set back six inches from the stakes that are still down. Minor's totally disregarded that line and booped the people next door's fence right up against our brand new fence. Strike three. They did this without any sort of discussion with us and damaged our fence in the process. All the different things they put on their website and they don't contact you back, perform shoddy work, and break all types of licensing rules crossing boundary lines. Go with someone like Minor's and you are always waiting for a call up. DanDale is the major league when it comes to fencing.

It's my oversight for not noticing this for a year, but this is a clear workmanship issue that they should have fixed. It never should've happened in the first place. My husband walked the property with the project manager before installation, discussed corner post and the placement of the single gates and then left. There was no mention the double gate could not be centered, and the fence posts would not be installed in a straight line. I sent an email the following morning expressing my concerns. I was told they always move the gate towards the house if utility lines cause an issue. We had the double gate installed for a trailer. It does not make sense that we would want it moved away from where the trailer is parked. The project manager came out to inspect and said both issues could be resolved. I received a call saying I would have to pay for corrections. Over the past 3 months, 3 site visits, at least 9 emails and 7 conversations it has been suggested that the top rail was bent but posts were straight, so it just needed to be replaced or the "frost heave" and extreme cold temperatures shifted the concrete footings. The newest revelation is that the fence was installed per the contract where the top rail follows the natural contour of the land rather than running in a perfectly straight line. This is not mentioned anywhere in the contract. In fact, the layout on the contract clearly shows a straight line and states that the fence will be installed following the flow (fence will be uneven at the top). They are also saying my husband approved the curvature in the fence and double gate location. Neither is true. If the fence was installed in accordance with the contract, then why was approval needed? If approval was given for the gate (or the fence line) it would have been their first response 3 months ago.
