I took time off work, brought a second person with me, and even had our family mechanic come along to inspect the vehicle. The car's A/C was not working during the test drive. That immediately raised concerns for me about the dealership's reconditioning process and the overall condition of its inventory. We also observed six separate rock-chip impact points on the front windshield, a partially worn windshield seal, and what felt like an unstable suspension during the drive. The dealership agreed to repair the A/C but refused to replace the windshield, offering only to fill the chips with resin. They had their mechanic inspected the suspension and come back saying it was good. Based on what I experienced, I decided to walk away and take my business elsewhere. In my opinion, the vehicle was not in the condition I expected, and I left with concerns about their thoroughness of the inspection and reconditioning process.

The reason the deal stopped was because the vehicle developed multiple serious issues during my test drives. On the first and second test drive, the vehicle triggered: * Check engine light * Battery charging malfunction warning * Engine overheating warning * Limp mode, limiting the car to under 1,500 RPM After returning to the dealership, I personally inspected the vehicle and found the main pulley had failed/separated. What concerns me is that the vehicle was advertised across multiple sites as being "fully inspected & serviced by our state-of-the-art top-rated service department." Based on the condition the vehicle presented in during my visit, I do not feel that statement reflected my experience. If I wasn't serious about purchasing the vehicle, I would not have: * Sent a $1,000 deposit * Booked a flight from Southern California to Sacramento * Planned to drive the vehicle 7-8 hours home At no point was I unwilling to buy the vehicle due to paperwork. The transaction never progressed that far because the focus became the vehicle's mechanical condition and drivability concerns. My review was based entirely on my actual experience at the dealership. I also have photos and videos documenting the warning messages and condition of the vehicle during the test drives. I wish you and your team the best moving forward.

While the mechanic had my engine taken apart, he inspected it and told me that the engine is so badly corroded (see pic)....that he didn't think I would get any longer than 6 months out of the car and I shouldn't drive long distances with it. I haven't even gotten 2 full years out this car yet and still owe $10k!?!? Long story short.....BEWARE of the vehicle you buy from here. Most of the cars are older, have high miles and are cars that certified dealers would not sell themselves. Do your research...ask for the Car Fax, have car checked with a mechanic and/or compare Kelly Blue book, before buying. It's worth the extra few thousand dollars to buy from a certified dealership, because you could be spending that extra thousands of dollars in repairs anyways, on a car from here. Don't end up in my situation!!!

I requested both the LoJack and VIN stamping be removed because I didn't want either. The manager flat-out refused to sell the truck without them. During our conversation, I got the manager to admit that the VIN stamping only costs them $259. Knowing that a LoJack activation typically runs about $500, they are charging nearly $1,900 in pure, unadulterated markup just to pad their pockets. They are using these "fees" to falsely lower their advertised price online, then forcing you to pay the real price at the desk. If you show up with cash and refuse to be ripped off, they will walk away from the deal. For anyone reading this, know your rights. In GOD'S name, do not buy any used car from Atlantic used car dealership!!! Atlantic Auto Sales located in 1800 Fulton Ave, Sacramento, CA 95825, sold me a 2005 Nissan Xterra SE for $8400. The personnel I spoke to initially were Arian, Lupita, Kevin or Muhammad. These people did not disclose to me the real mechanical condition of the Xterra I purchased. Atlantic used car dealership did not tell me about the defective TPMS sensors, the leaking shocks and struts and the condition of the Xterra transmission, which at that time of sale was already defective, and the transmission is contaminated by the engine coolant. They failed to provide me with factual information regarding the true condition of the Xterra. I was honest to them and I informed them that I am a Veteran with limited income and I need a reliable car that I can afford. I purchased the Xterra at the end of June 2021, and after 2 weeks on July 16, while I was driving along San Mateo Bridge, the transmission failed and my life was put in danger because the Xterra stopped in the middle of San Mateo Bridge. I tried to restart the vehicle hoping that I can bring it to side of the bridge wall. The Xterra started very weak and transmission was struggling, but I was able to move the vehicle to the side of the bridge and the vehicle stopped altogether and no longer operational. Atlantic used car shop should be held liable for what had happened to me. I am posting this review to inform other consumer to become aware of my dilemma and the dishonesty of the staffs at Atlantic used car dealership. Since July, the Xterra is being repaired by AAMCO and PEPBOYS. AAMCO found out so many irregularities about the Xterra, including switched transmission (switched to a Nissan Titan V8 transmission), radiator leaks, and other issues like defective TPMS sensors, shocks and struts, defective catalytic converters that must be replaced, and noise started to come from a/c and heating control knob, squeaking sounds from the bottom. Since that fateful day in July when I my life was put in jeopardy, the Xterra is continuously being repaired by AAMCO and they found out so many irregularities about the vehicle, including switched transmission and other issues like TPMS sensors. Another repair shop, PEPBOYS, found out that the Xterra has leaking struts and shocks. Recently another mechanical defect was found by AAMCO. The Xterra has a defective 02 sensors and catalytic converter. The Xterra is becoming a "money pit". Since I am a Veteran with limited income, I have no further financial resources to continue paying for the repair of this vehicle. Atlantic used car sales should be held liable for LYING to their customers. This is an example of GREED! They want to get your money and they'll throw you under the bus after getting your hard earned money! They will show you a friendly face and will present themselves as professionals. But the truth, Atlantic used car dealership will LIE to you and they will not tell you the mechanical defects of the vehicle you are planning to buy. They are wolves in sheep's clothing. My experience buying my new car here at Atlantic Auto Sales was amazing! The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable in their inventory. Unlike my last experience with a different dealership, there was absolutely no pressure to buy. Shahla and Iman answered all my questions and in no way did I feel like they were making up answers just to push a sale. The starting prices are lower than the rest for the quality of cars they have. I'm extremely happy with their customer service and the willingness to help me get an affordable deal on the car I wanted. STAY AWAY from this dealership. They will NOT tell you the TUTH and they will sell you a car that will either malfunction or die on the road while you are driving it. This dealership motto is a misrepresentation and DMV should shut them down for being dishonest. If you read positive reviews here, it is either they are lying or they are employees or relatives of the owner. Don't be a victim of this dealership! For several months I shopped for a gently used 2012 Honda Accord LX. Thanks to cargurus, I found the car that met my requirements at Atlantic Auto Sales. Shahla was very courteous and kind. The test drive went beautifully. Once I settled on the purchase, Shahla quickly and efficiently handled the paperwork. Their prices are excellent in an extremely competitive market; even after adding tax and DMV fees, she sold the Accord to me at a price well below market value. I live in Lake Havasu City, AZ. I found they had a car I was interested in. I spoke with them several times, and face timed them to see the car. I flew out of Las Vegas and into Sacramento. I bought the car and they even aligned the front end for me before I drove home. 10 hours later I arrived and had no issues. I have been driving around town and have had no issues. Is the car perfect? No. But I didn't purchase or pay for a brand new car. I am very satisfied. read more

The cars are grossly overpriced, often exceeding KBB values, and not worth the asking price. I strongly recommend checking reviews on Carfax before considering any purchase, they have a dismal 3-star rating. The staff was unresponsive and I would avoid this dealership at all costs. read more

I talked to Ata by phone about the car, then hired a mobile mechanic (also found through Yelp) in the Rancho Cordova area, and sent him in to inspect the car. Ata was very accommodating and tolerant of the mechanic's inspection and lengthy test drive, during which I was on the phone with the mechanic and Ata. I ended up buying the car, and Ata recommended a shipping option he's used that even cost less than what I could get through one of the national car transport companies. Ata took care of a small dent in the bumper before shipping the car, he included the 30-day drivetrain warranty noted on the Craigslist ad, handled all of the paperwork, and I ended up with a great car I'm thrilled to own! The man takes pride in the cars he "curates" for his business and is an honest gentleman. Truly a "Top Quality" operation.

This was frustrating, but they tried in good faith to make it right. The closing/finance team was atrocious. Armando tried to fast-talk his way into every upsell and markup possible, would not take ownership of multiple typos, numerical mistakes, and inaccuracies in legal DMV paperwork, trying to fast-talk his way through it, blaming others for giving me inaccurate info, and making multiple mistakes despite blatant/flagrant errors. When asked for a supervisor, he got his friend/colleague, a younger, red-headed gentleman who presented himself as a supervisor/manager and who had a terrible attitude and dismissed me with his arms crossed. When an actual manager arrived, they did make some efforts to make things right by having a supervisor review the signing paperwork with me - ultimately even more numerical and objective errors were found in paperwork review (incorrect contract/purchase date submitted to the DMV!). If you find yourself deciding to purchase a car from this dealership, be incredibly wary of the finance/closing department. Scrutinize EVERY DETAIL and EVERY LINE, as they will use the terms "standard, included, mandatory, free, optional" in every manipulative and deceptive way to get you to say, "screw it" and push through to sign paperwork. Dealt with them lying to my face and trying to get me to like it for 5 hours. If you get the younger, red-headed/sandy haired guy or Armando, just assume they are lying to you and scamming from the handshake onward. 0 stars, negative stars if possible.

BUYER BEWARE -- My experience was a nightmare…read more I was sold a 2012 Dodge Charger for over 10k (almost twice its worth) through in-house financing, with $1,000+ monthly payments and a promise they would take the vehicle back and agree to finance me the car I actually wanted on their lot once it was paid off. The VERY FIRST NIGHT the car wouldn't start. In the contract there was a 3 day window after the sale to return it so I reached out to Jalas son asking to return the car. He threatened me with expensive fees and assured me it was a minor issue and I was overreacting. I wish I would have followed my gut- the issue(s) were not minor at all. Over the next 2 almost 3 years now since buying it, it was drivable only a few months total, and I spent thousands on repairs, including at their own shop--only for the same issues to return immediately. When I finally paid it off, I was told: "Wow, you actually paid it off," and then they refused to take it back, suggesting I might get $1,000 elsewhere. Their shady and probably illegal business model works like this: buyers with limited credit options are placed into high-interest, high-payment loans on vehicles priced well above their actual value and finance payments far above what makes sense from their income statements to be able to maintain. If the car fails or becomes unreliable (which in my case happened almost immediately), the buyer is still fully responsible for the debt and repair costs. By the time many customers struggle to keep up with payments or the vehicle becomes unusable, the dealership has already collected a large portion--or even all--of the inflated purchase price through monthly payments that are near impossible to maintain on top of repair work and insurance. Miss one payment, don't pay insurance for a month, they repossess the car despite how much you might have already spent and they sell it to the next person where they repeat this cruel cycle- effectively allowing the dealership to profit multiple times from the same car while the buyer absorbs the financial loss. It creates a situation where the buyer takes on all the risk, while the dealership benefits from both the financing structure and the resale value of returned vehicles. In total, I put about $15,000 into a car that now doesn't start at all. They made even more money on it to do repairs in house after promising "cheaper parts and labor" only for me to drive off and turn the corner and the problem return immediately. The Dodge dealership out of pity told me to stop spending any more money to repair it, that it's a money pit, and I should cut my losses. Do not take their word for anything. Get an independent inspection and read every line of the contract. They have no problem ruining peoples lives, circumstances, finances if it benefits them financially. This has had a tremendous negative impact on my life. Just don't go there. Take your business elsewhere. I wish I had.
