Look out Lululemon, there's a new game in town. As a Banana Republic cardholder, I have been fortunate to sample the spectrum of brands (Old Navy/Gap/BR/Piperlime) but until recently had not dipped my toes into the waters of Athleta. In spite of receiving catalogs/promotional emails from this link in the Gap, Inc. family of brands, I was wary of purchasing athletic apparel online, sight unseen. With Gap/BR it is a different story, as I usually scope out the items in store and, for the most part, know how these lines look and fit.
On my most recent venture to Athleta, I was pleasantly surprised to note that the store had several items on sale, in spite of the fact that they had opened for business only a short time ago. The space itself is light and bright, whereas all Lulus that I have been in have a tendency to be on the darker side. I also appreciated the variety of offerings, as I scored a couple of tops for Pilates, and a ripstop skirt, in addition to a swim dress/coverup to wear poolside. It is good to have apparel for a range of activities -after all, just how many pairs of (potentially see-through) black yoga pants does one really need? I will be back to this store, or ordering online, whenever my gym wardrobe needs a lift. read more
