I've been a fan since 2001. It's our 10 year anniversary :) Probably the best yoga pants & shorts I've ever purchased have a subtle little Athleta tag on the lower left. And my athleta bikinis are favorites. I'd drive tomorrow for one of their sales at the veterans Bldg. I understand from friends that live in Petaluma that those are now a distant memory. C'est la vie. Happy anniversary anyway. read more

I ordered item online and received them. One went on additional sale and instead of $44 it was $28 less than a week after purchase. I asked for an adjustment from Ria in the Leadership department and was told NO adjustment! I spend so much $$$$$ at Athleta, Gap and Banana Republic. They have no loyalty. I said I would be taking my $ elsewhere and Ria in Leadership did NOT care. Poor customer service! Shame on Athleta! read more

Terrible exchange policy and customer service experience. I bought my SO a gift from Athleta from the wrong size and she needed to return it. First off they required her to call to initiate an exchange, which there's no justification. When she did they refused to exchange it because it had been more than 30 days since my purchase. I could *possibly* understand not refunding a gift after 30 days -- even though that's a bad policy and outside modern standards. But not exchanging an unused product for a size that fits? What exactly do they expect her to do? Worst customer service experience I can remember. We'll never buy another Athleta product again. read more

I ordered a pranayama wrap online, I am busy and the only Athleta store is at least an hours drive for me. I was not aware of the 30 day return policy. I drove to the store in Rancho Cucamonga, CA Friday, September 6 to return my wrap, it had all of the tags and also the bag that I received the wrap in. The salesperson would not accept my return Or exchange. Additionally, she was VERY RUDE. Prior to my return at Athleta Friday, September 6, I had a return at Lululemon it was simply effortless, I was issued a gift card which I will use in the future. The salesperson was very helpful and friendly. Not exchanging an unused product for a size that fits is unheard of! NOW I have a product that I can't wear. Worst customer service experience I can remember. I will never buy another Athleta product again. read more

I purchased an oversized top from the store in San Jose. It was too big but it was the only one they had. I went on the website and saw that the top was available in other colors and sizes. Not knowing what size would fit me, I purchased 3 more in various sizes and colors. When they arrived I selected the one that fit me the best and tried to return the rest. Called the company and was told that I have the option to return them to the store but I might not get all my money back because they were final sale. If that turns out to be the case, I would need to call again and they can override the price in order to refund me. So, first I went to the store. The unfriendly looking girl told me that the one I purchased from the store was also final sale and not returnable. Since I could not return the one that was too big, I asked her to return the ones I purchased online. She said they are not returnable either. I called the company again and I said that I was told that I could still return them, although they were final sale. I was refused. No matter what I said, Ashley on the other side of the phone refused to return the merchandise. Not for money, not even for a gift card. So, now I have 4 of the same oversized tops in different colors and sizes. On their website, they are showing the sale prices in BIG, RED numbers and with tiny letters underneath, it says final sale. I know Lululemon treats their customers with respect and understanding. This was the first and last time I purchase anything from Athleta. read more

Worst customer experience ever, I came in with my daughter to exchange not return some items I got as a gift from my employees. From the moment we walked in all 4 employees present at the time we're staring at us like we were some weird bugs or they've never seen Hispanic people walk in. After Sam (the cashier who helped me) saw the total amount of the items which I did not wanted to return once again just exchange. He denied my transaction, I guess brown people cant afford to shop here lmao. Needless to say we were discriminated against because of our skin color. However another Athleta was able to process the exchange no questions asked. Will be sharing this experience with friends and family read more

They're usually very good with customer service, quality, and delivery. We received a broken Rosy Pits deodorant, and they would only credit me instead of replacing it. Otherwise, we like them. read more

This is for Athleta in general, not this store. Athleta has some very cute clothes. The problem is the clothes are quite expensive and, in my experience, the quality of materials and construction don't measure up. I guess I should have washed some tees I took with me on a trip, because the first time I wore them they stained my new bra. Permanently. I followed the washing instructions on a long cardigan sweater and it still shrunk. A fuzzy sweater I ordered from them sheds like mad! (I'm not a glutton for punishment, these were all from the same order.) And since you are looking at these cute clothes online or in the catalog, you can't tell the quality until they show up at your door. Which is when the no free return shipping part irks me. At least let us return to a Gap or Banana Republic! Buyer beware! read more

Used to be a cool catalog. Now, overpriced, no customer service. I loved Athleta when it first appeared several years ago. This summer, I ordered a swimsuit and pair of sandals via express mail for a last-minute trip. A few days later, a teeny package arrived on my doorstep, bearing.... a swimsuit. Period. No packing slip, no sandals. I called Athleta C.S. and they said "Huh, funny, the sandals show that they shipped with the package." I said there was no packing slip, nor any sandals. They credited my $ (several days later), but the sandals remained missing. Dollars to donuts, somebody in the warehouse is wearing a spiffy new pair of sandals. The swimsuit was SO cheaply made. The top was flimsy and unflattering (and S was too big), while the size S bottoms were tight tight tight. I never wore the bottoms. And considering with expedited shipping and the WAY overpriced bikini and missing sandals, my total was nearly $180, I basically spent $180 on a crappy bikini top. Never again, Athleta. read more

Crappiest return process ever. Ever. It's May and I'm still waiting for them to handle the returns on my Christmas gifts (which was a nice thought, M&D, but I won't be asking for anything from Athleta again). When I ask about the delays, they say it's _standard_ to wait four weeks for a return to be processed. Which means if you have trouble estimating the right size and fit from a catalog, like, say, 90% of women, get ready for a long wait. Maybe you should check into your shipping and handling department. Oh it's a pretty catalog, and I like that the models appear to be actual athletes, but I can get that from Outside magazine without the false pretense that there's any kind of customer service being provided. read more

WOW! I found my catelogue in the recycling! I looked at a tasteful cover- athletic and sportswear. HMM I will pick it up.. I am so glad I did! I spent hours looking through the lovely styles and options. I called. I got helpful, very friendly information. I knwo clothes sales. i worked at HotSoup Lake for 2 years. I had to hold off to make decisions. I called a second time and got another friendly, skilled staff person. I ordered. My clothes came VERY fast. I held onto them for 2 days without opening - this is the next step- are the clothes as they looked inthe catalogue! YES YES YES!!! I found a jewel. Top quality. Nice looking stuff. Excellent customer service. My staff was April and June. (kind of funny - code names? she said no. I don't car eif they have to use code names. read more

Update: I went the 3rd day of the sale, arriving just at 10 am at the opening. It was not crowded. The selection was very picked over, and many of the items I tried on had holes or the zipper didn't work or similar. BUT! I snagged 2 coats I love for $20 each--the last day, everything is one-half off, so dirt cheap. I'm not one to buy tons of stuff (usually a consignment gal, too) so I left happy as a clam. The merch was organized and my co-shoppers polite. I only hope they keep up the tradition next year now that Athleta is owned by Gap. read more

Ordered an item for an upcoming trip. Was taking a while so checked in online, said order was being processed. A week later, checked the status again on this item. The status said 'Canceled'. Called customer service as i did not cancel the order. Snarky CS rep said it was cancelled because it was no longer in stock. Certainly was in stock when i ordered it! In fact, it actually still says on my screen "In Stock, Ready to be Shipped" Apparently it is a crap shoot to order an item and actually expect it to arrive. Don't you just love the look of the "whatever skort". I did. And, I hung on to a gift certificate for many months (4 to be exact) just waiting for that perfect item I would never think to get! Really- a "skort"? Took the plunge evidently at a really bad time. I was told by a rep to buy the size 10 (wow!) so being a Boden junkie, I agreed. After 2 months of waiting, I got it today. The color is not even close to the catalog, web site, description over the phone. Red is RED -- not a muted raspberry/plum hybrid. I could live with that, however. What I can't live with is this grandma brief undie drape that might resemble a "skort " had I been a size 14. This contraption has belt loops, snaps, zippers AND a draw string (not in any description available to the public). Good lord. If I am that athletic, I would not want all that stuff hanging off of me. Yes, Gap bought Althelta but on the phone for 34.27 minutes (thanks, iPhone)! I'm assuming the Gap take-over is less than smooth. Too bad. I bet Altheta had great stuff but I will never order from the Gap monopoly again. I'm skorting back to Boden ASAP where I may feel good about a size 10 - tee hee. read more

LOVE the pants on the ladies! If you go shopping into the city it is easy to pick out stuff. The help is amazing...

Athleta's posted hours indicate that the store is open at 10am every day. So when I arrived at 10am this morning, hoping to get an errand out of the way, I was surprised to find that the doors were open, but a yoga class was blocking the entrance. I was greeted and told the store was not open... until 11am. So here's my thinking: Athleta is a store, first and foremost. They should fulfill the promised duties of a retail store (which are pretty simple: be open during your hours to transact your merchandise). Then, when they're mastered that, they can move on to extras, like hosting yoga classes. Trying to be everything, and failing to fulfill your most basic service is not impressive. One more star for Title Nine. read more

My daughter used her own hard earned money to buy a pair of stretch pants from Athleta and within an hour one of the seams ripped wide open. My daughter is not a big girl and the sales associate helped her choose the appropriate size. We drove 2 hours to the the store to buy them, and after 1/2 hour on the phone with a very unapologetic associate, we will have to drive 2 hours back to the store to exchange. I'd expect better from a premium brand like Athleta. a little spendy in the catalog, but the annual sales are worth getting on the email list for - although I'm not a huge fan of crowds, you can find me elbowing my way through the line ups to get these deals. the clothing runs true (if not a little large) to size, so I tend to buy down a size or two on most items. good quality, and fun functional wear if you are active. ps - most of it is really super cute too. read more

Sweet cataloge that I need a napkin to wipe the drool off with. Stylin' in the great outdoors.

I guess I had to give it one star since that was the lowest possible choice. What a nightmare and they don't care. I placed the order and it was guaranteed to be delivered by Dec. 14th. I paid extra to have it delivered by then, plus I paid extra for a gift box and message. For a week, the site only said "sale pending". I emailed customer service twice(site said I would hear from them within 3 days--not)--never had a response--plus called twice (that was a long wait) each time they said "no worries--this is just how it works--it will be there by the 14th." The gift was not delivered by the 14th plus the "message" tag was left completely blank. Fortunately, the recipient knew I was sending the gift. Learned my lesson--no more ordering from them. Too bad--their product isn't bad but their customer service is terrible. read more

Athleta's quality and fit are good. When the fits aren't perfected, they will update and make a note in their catalog. They seem to care about quality and fit which is hard to find these days. Their sample sale was the best sample sale I've been too...and I've been working in the apparel industry for 20 years. If you can find when and where they are located...go. The secret is, if you don't arrive right when the doors open - ALL the good merchandise is in the changing room!... It rotates and never moves back out to the floor. read more

Hesitant to even write a review now because I still have not received my order. Seems I have been Athleta-ed as the other reviews are reporting. Terrible on-line shopping experience, 4 emails from Athleta telling me my order was confirmed, canceled, confirmed, canceled, 46 minutes total on hold for two phone calls to customer service, and then charged for express shipping that turned out to be normal 7-10 day arrival. Evidently the on-line ordering is actually filled by stores. If the store chosen to fill the order does not have the item, they cancel your order and reorder. This process continues until a store actually has the item. This is why I received so many emails for one order of yoga pants, which I hope to receive before 2017. read more

I've read a lot of reviews for Athleta--many are complimentary, but my experience was not positive even though the company's marketing and online communication would lead customers to believe it is. I ordered 4 items; was sent an email indicating all were shipped; was later sent an email that one item was not available...confusing. ...was sent an email that my order had been delivered. It hadn't been delivered. ...was told on the phone that if I wanted the items shipped again, I would have to either wait for another department to review my "case," or I could place another order and be charged again. They were unwilling to credit me despite the fact that I didn't have the first order. I found it really hard to understand both customer service representatives--not because they were not fluent in English, but because they fired off their rules and limitations so quickly I found myself asking them to repeat themselves. I guess I just miss a time when -- as a customer -- it felt as though one's business was appreciated. This company is more interested in making its profit than pleasing the people who bring that profit in. Beware if there is a mix-up on your order. Judgement will not be in your favor. read more

The quality of Athleta's product was already deteriorating before the Gap acquisition but now, you can consider their garments virtually disposable. Knits will pill after one washing, stitching is puckered and/or loose and the athletic gear is not technical. It will not breathe when you sweat, isn't durable and doesn't come even close in functionality to other brands. The reviews on their site can't be trusted either because they won't post negative feedback. read more

I was so excited to do a shop from athleta and ordered many items. The items came quickly but the quality of fabric, zippers, and fit (stretch out of shape) was so poor that I pretty much returned everything I ordered.i made 3 separate returns in August 2012. It is Nov and am still waiting for my return together sorted an my money back. Very disappointing. It looks great online but very poor quality and returns are terrible. I ordered my wife a Christmas present on the 12th of december. It was a pair of leggings and a sweater. On the 16th it still had not shipped and i received an email saying they were out of the sweater but would send the leggings. I called to make sure it would be shipped right away. After being on hold for 32 minutes they assured me it would ship right away. By the the 20th it still had not shipped. i called again, after 21 minutes of being on hold I was again assured it would ship right away and would be send fed ex to make sure it was on time for christmas. To hedge my bet i ordered another pair of leggings from Lulu Lemon. They got here in two days. Yesterday the 22nd I called again, 18 minutes of being on hold they said the leggings were on the dock and would be shipped that day. Last night I got an email stating they were unsure when they would ship but I could rest assured they would arrive within the next 30 days. Are you kidding me? I will never purchase from atheleta again. I hope people read this review and shop somewhere else as well. read more

I have no problem with the quality of Athleta clothes. However, the system for returning/exchanging something from an online purchase is akin to negotiating a Middle East peace treaty. This is the second - and final - time I've ordered something online from Athleta. The sizing is weird and inconsistent, so exchanges are usually required. I would be OK with that if the exchange process were reasonable. It is not. It requires multiple steps, especially if a gift card is involved. There are phone calls to be made, gift cards to be re-mailed for an exchanged item, more phone calls, shipping labels to be printed, etc. I know with 100 percent certainty Athleta does this intentionally to discourage returns -- the company hopes people just give up and don't bother. Well, I won't bother any more. Athleta will never see my business again. read more

I LOVE their clothes! The fit and feel of the fabric is wonderful and they last forever it seems. The only problem is the price is very high. I used to make up for the full priced items I'd buy by going to their warehouse sale and scoring tons of great stuff. But this year, 2010, I hear they are not having the sale because they are doing quite well on their online sale and don't have the stock for the warehouse sale. Sniff. read more

I used a $50 GC to buy a vest that I didn't end up liking. Per their return policy, if you return it for an exchange there is no extra shipping charge either way - so I gave them my CC for the new purchase and returned the item I purchased with a GC. Now they are telling me I'm out the money I spent on the "exchange" and have sent me a $50 GC. I expected my CC to be refunded the $50 once they got my return. They get 2 stars because the vest I got in the end is really cute. Customer service is lousy and deserves a zero. I spent a good 20 mins on the phone trying to work it out. I feel robbed. read more

Shipping and processing is very slow. Order if you're not concerned about time.

As many others have said, Athleta as a company has horrendous customer service! (This is a comment on the web company, not this particular store). I ordered two gift cards from the web (one twice the value of the other)-- and they sent the wrong gift card to the wrong person, despite the fact that the order confirmation showed it correctly (I found out because the shipping confirmation emails were wrong). When I called the company to ask them to correct their error, they were snarky and impatient and said this was a pain to correct, so couldn't I just have my friends mail the correct cards to each other). Seriously?! It's not like they even know each other, and it's a bit awkward to make it clear that one friend gets double the gift of another. It took two times on the phone, over half an hour each time of being on hold and transferred, and no one even said they were sorry, just impatient with me not having my friends take care of their error, and they refused to contact my friends to rectify their mistake! This is insane- will never deal with this company again! read more

I ordered 5 pairs of short. One of the shorts was on backorder for 2 months. I spoke to several representatives regarding changing the size of the backordered item. Each time I called, they told me to wait and call them back closer to the date that the item will arrive. Well, I called them a day prior to when the item was suppose to arrive to change the size. The representative told me that the size was not available (I later checked on line and the size was available). I then informed the representative to cancel the item. They responded that the item shipped. I told them that I did not receive an email indicating it was shipped. They said that I would receive the email later in the day or tomorrow. Unbelievable!! Excuses, excuses! The customer service is so poor and inexcusable. I've made many attempts to ensure that my backordered item would be the size I requested prior to shipment. This company just gives you boilerplate excuses so that you have to receive the item you do not want and be inconvenienced with sending it back to them. I will NEVER order from this company. Let me preface this review by saying, I LOVE Athleta's clothes: high quality, wash and wear well, just as described when ordering. My issue is with POOR shipping. I ordered on December 10th and on the 20th my items still had not shipped. I was on hold 20 minutes before being told my items were shipping that day. I believe Athleta HELD my and many other's items, to be shipped out in bulk on 20th because the website said items would arrive by 23rd if order by 20th. Conversely, I ordered from Lululemon on Christmas Day and received my items on December 28th. Sadly, I am not sure I will order again from Athleta, as this is ridiculous shipping time. I had ordered from Athlete earlier this month and my items took nine days so this is not an isolated occurrence. read more
