I got back in the room quickly and the doctor is who came out to get me and then he did the review of my issues right there on the spot. Talk about personalized service. He is incredibly nice, informative and takes the time to really discuss what your problems are and what the solutions are and how we're going to move forward. I like this guy a lot.

When you finally get into the exam room and the technician has done her thing - Dr. Dong rushes in says "looks good - See you in a year." Doesn't answer questions just darts out of the room. When I (eventually) saw him, he sat poised at the edge of his seat, facing the door, prepared for flight as soon as he circled my answers to a few canned questions. He does not speak clearly and gets upset when asked to repeat himself. He argued with me about my responses. I was scheduled for the same procedure for my other eye (roughly $1400 cash per eye) but decided to cancel and find another opthalmologist. I wish I had checked Yelp first because apparently he has a one-star average rating. Of note, I have written several stellar reviews for other businesses. This is the first negative rating I've ever written. I would subtract the one star if I could.

On the day of our visit, we were instructed to return at 2:15 for a follow up. We arrived and the parking lot was overly full, forcing people to park in the driveway. I got out and walked inside, while my wife was stuck in the driveway because an elderly lady was confused and driving the wrong direction in the parking lot. One of the RN's was pushing a discharge patient in a wheelchair down the exterior walkway and proceeded to engage in a rude and unprofessional exchange with my wife because she assumed my wife was blocking the driveway for no good reason. My wife pointed out that the elderly lady was blocking people from entering the parking lot and then the RN got angry and proceeded to yell at my wife before moving on with her patient. I have worked in healthcare 30 years and have never had a rude or unprofessional exchange with any visitors. The fact that Dr. Dong's staff clearly are not concerned with being professional and courteous is the reason we will not return and will share our experience with others. There is no excuse for staff to conduct themselves this way at any level.

Had he kept his mouth shut and listened to his patient (me), he would have discovered that I KNOW THAT. However, It has only recently started affecting my eyes. He continued to interrupt me the entire time, so I gave up. His bedside manner is horrible, and I left with NO treatment plan other than to come back in a year. I will never go back because there are much better ophthalmologists out there. Once home, I read all the bad reviews on health grades regarding his lack of skill in performing eye surgery. I wonder how many of his patients had symptoms they wanted to discuss with him but were too afraid to speak up due to his dismissive, antagonistic personality. Dr. Dong, it would serve you well to listen to your patients and take a class in bedside manners.

I just had my LASIK done one week ago. Firstly, do your research! There are so many different laser…read moremanufacturers out there. The ophthalmologist does so little - so you're putting a lot of faith in the laser's itself. Dr. Blue has Intra-lase technology to make the flap with a laser as opposed to a small blade. Then Allegretto Wave that does the correction is also very popular in the industry and not as customized as some but is extremely accurate and reliable. I had 20/15 vision five days out and have mild dry eye that is resolving rapidly as the steroid and antibiotic drops taper. Of course the risks are all there, but Dr Blue has done thousands of successful procedures. Everyone of his office staff has done it (of course) but are willing to answer any tough questions. The day of surgery you get a muscle relaxer (diazepam) and the procedure literally take 10 minutes. They will provide you with a ride to Gainesville where the equipment is if you ask. Your eye is desensitized for the procedure and Dr. Blue talks you through everything. My eyes throbbed after I got home but he provides you with pain meds and I slept like a baby through the night. The redness is slowly resolving and my vision is better than it ever was with contacts and glasses. I'm finally free of them forever and can enjoy the summertime and my wedding without the hassle. Dr. Blue's not dirt cheap but his equipment is very reliable and he is very good at his craft. If he tries to rush you at all, stop and ask all of the questions you want. He even talked with my Dad on the phone for reassurance. And he calls you the afternoon after surgery to check in and schedules multiple free follow-up visits. I was so scared and am now so happy that I went ahead with it. Freedom!

Called Eye Surgeons and physicians several times only to be on hold…read more At one point I was on hold for over 30 minutes, called back and put on hold another 15 minutes. (Gave up!) Called on January 13th was hold for 15 minutes. Asked to make an appointment was told the next opening was on March 17th. Wow! Like the doctors but it appears business is to good to care about customer service.
