I got back in the room quickly and the doctor is who came out to get me and then he did the review of my issues right there on the spot. Talk about personalized service. He is incredibly nice, informative and takes the time to really discuss what your problems are and what the solutions are and how we're going to move forward. I like this guy a lot.

When you finally get into the exam room and the technician has done her thing - Dr. Dong rushes in says "looks good - See you in a year." Doesn't answer questions just darts out of the room. He does not speak clearly and gets upset when asked to repeat himself. He argued with me about my responses. I was scheduled for the same procedure for my other eye (roughly $1400 cash per eye) but decided to cancel and find another opthalmologist. I wish I had checked Yelp first because apparently he has a one-star average rating. Of note, I have written several stellar reviews for other businesses. This is the first negative rating I've ever written. I would subtract the one star if I could.

On the day of our visit, we were instructed to return at 2:15 for a follow up. We arrived and the parking lot was overly full, forcing people to park in the driveway. I got out and walked inside, while my wife was stuck in the driveway because an elderly lady was confused and driving the wrong direction in the parking lot. One of the RN's was pushing a discharge patient in a wheelchair down the exterior walkway and proceeded to engage in a rude and unprofessional exchange with my wife because she assumed my wife was blocking the driveway for no good reason. My wife pointed out that the elderly lady was blocking people from entering the parking lot and then the RN got angry and proceeded to yell at my wife before moving on with her patient. I have worked in healthcare 30 years and have never had a rude or unprofessional exchange with any visitors. The fact that Dr. Dong's staff clearly are not concerned with being professional and courteous is the reason we will not return and will share our experience with others. There is no excuse for staff to conduct themselves this way at any level.

He continued to interrupt me the entire time, so I gave up. His bedside manner is horrible, and I left with NO treatment plan other than to come back in a year. I will never go back because there are much better ophthalmologists out there. Once home, I read all the bad reviews on health grades regarding his lack of skill in performing eye surgery. I wonder how many of his patients had symptoms they wanted to discuss with him but were too afraid to speak up due to his dismissive, antagonistic personality. Dr. Dong, it would serve you well to listen to your patients and take a class in bedside manners.

The red carpet pre-op service is done once the bill has been paid. I was laughed at when I explained I was frustrated with my post op vision. I was told "I don't understand, most people are extremely happy at this point in time" I had surgery in March, 2018. I've waited 3 months to see if Dr Blue and his staff could help, went back 3 times (once with a personal promise from Dr Blue that he would see me and not make me wait) spent over 2hrs each on the first 2 visits, waited over an hour for the 3rd visit and finally left. I've been back to my own personal eye doctor twice since my 'procedure' so I can find the right glasses/contacts to help me make it thru the day. So sad Dr. Blue couldn't provide that service as well, instead of dismissing my concerns. I've spend more money after my surgery for corrective vision than I did prior to surgery. Follow up care at Blue Laser group is horrendous!

Called on January 13th was hold for 15 minutes. Asked to make an appointment was told the next opening was on March 17th. Wow! Like the doctors but it appears business is to good to care about customer service.

As I could no longer get an appointment with Dr. Lawson, I've returned to Athens Family Vision and recently had an appointment with Dr. Patel. She is also an excellent optometrist, and responded very well to a couple of my concerns. She is thorough, knowledgeable, and very kind in her manner. I will continue with her and have encouraged the rest of my family in the Athens area to give her their business.
