I came here for a gel manicure in the middle of the afternoon. Manicure was fine during, despite many attempts to coax me into up-charged services. Everything was okay until 3 new customers came in and he abandoned me under the UV light til the point my fingers were burning and I removed them. He was busy accommodating the new customers for 5+ minutes. When he returned he scolded me for removing??? 2 days later the polish was peeling off and by a week it was nearly all off.....their polish is old or too much UV. Either way will not return. Also, another woman came in with her mother and they told her come back later that they were too busy for her. Many salons in close proximity that are more accommodating, (beverages, TVs), and have a a cleaner, more luxurious relaxing atmosphere.....and charge exactly the same. read more

After repeatedly telling the guy what I wanted and him telling me he couldn't do I was extremely frustrated. Got a pedicure first which was terrible as well, looks like a 3 year old painted them. THIS SHOP WAS TERRIBLE I paid 35 for nothing! read more

Well- I've never written a review on a nail salon, but the situation I faced deserved noting for future possible customers. Hope it isn't happening to anyone else. When this place first opened we enjoyed it. It was clean and friendly. The services I had were pedicure, and solar nails. I even started getting the hubby to get pedicures with me! My daughter also used their services. I'll admit I'm very picky- I went through every nail tech, then finally, only the owner could understand and do the nails properly. The place started getting very busy, because it was the newest in town, and service went out the door. :( Once I used a different lady to do my nails and she cut deep into the "quick" of my nail bed and I bled forever. We frequently experienced a long wait even WITH an appt. which seemed unfair to us as customers. Once, I was frustrated when I had made an appt with the person I liked to do my pedicure, got there early, only to find them "unavailable" b/c they took a walk in. After waiting for ever, I reluctantly allowed the same lady that had recently cut me, to do my pedicure. Jokingly, I said, "Only if you don't cut me again!" The last time I had a pedicure, a customer was there with her friend getting joint pedicures, and at the end, she explained that the lady- same one who cut me, didn't do everything included with the "deluxe" price. They said the lady was "just like that." Well! That day was my day- after being a long time, spa customer, you know the steps in the routines quite well. I always get the best of whatever is offered- so I got their "deluxe" which includes the very important gel that removes callouses. However, this was the first time this person had done my pedi, so I didn't want to bother her- I thought maybe she did her stuff differently. She also didn't use the "hot rocks" they always included in deluxe (and they had used 2 weeks previously) but I thought maybe they did away with them. So, after the pedi, I went to the nail chair- with the owner- I asked her if they stopped using the rocks, and she said No! Then I told her that the lady didn't use the rocks or the callous remover gel (a step that involves letting feet sit with a few minutes to soften) so I thought that she must've misunderstood that I had wanted the Deluxe Pedi. No more talk about it during my nails. Well- when I paid, I said, "Don't forget not to charge me for the Deluxe price because she didn't understand, and didn't do the Deluxe Pedi." They spoke in their language and the owner told me that the lady said she DID do all of the things I said she omitted. I was in shock- I told her that she didn't though. Again, talking between them- as I'm recollecting the last time I was there and the other lady saying the SAME THING about her not doing every step!!! She informed me that I would need to discuss it with the pedicure lady. I was appalled that the owner, who had done my nails for at least a year, was calling me a liar to my face!!! I told her I couldn't believe she thought I would lie over steps in a pedicure! She didn't care. I told her if this was the way she treated faithful, long time, whole family coming in customers, that we would never be back. She said as my nail tech she still deserved my business. I told her no, her calling me a liar didn't cut it. I paid the FULL bill including the "Deluxe Pedicue" and walked out. We've never been back! :( read more

I have been coming here for approximately 7 years. Heather and Julie do a superb job on my gel nails and pedicures. Highly recommend to anyone within 15 minute drive of the salon in Azle. Easy to get to also. read more

I just love this place..they r very friendly..very very clean. Julie is a perfectionist..The owner Heather was cleaning the restroom while was there. Never see that before. Heather also does permanent make up..looks perfect on lady there. Thats next on my list. read more

If i could give zero stars i would we went in here to get myself a pedicure and my elderly mother her nails done..made an appointment for both of us they took me straight back and worked on me and left my mother the hole time waiting and then when i was done i asked why they didnt do her yet and they said oh we didnt know..the appointment was for both of us and they sat there didnt even talk to ither of us..one lady was not even doing anything just sitting there and the other who was doing me almost never talked to it was completely unprofessional and rude...and not to mention looking at my toes there is paint in place it shouldnt..WE WILL NEVER GO BACK...by the time we went to leave my mother was in tears cause she was so tired from making the trip out and she didnt even get to get her nails done..so her trip out was for NOTHING!! read more

My sister and i got our nails done here paid $60 for a full dip set, two of my nails broke within 24 hours. Her nails then fell off within 2 days. Not worth it! Go somewhere else!! $60 is a lot for them to just fall off within the next day or so!!! read more

If you value your skin, don't get your eyebrows (or anything else) waxed here. They remove the hair and the skin simultaneously. I'll also note that mildew is the scent of their "freshly" laundered towels. It was one and done for me at this place... read more

There is nothing better than a relaxing pedicure after a long day. I have had a lot of pedicures in my life, but Athena Nails is my best experience. I guess that is why I have beea a patron for 5+ years!! Heather is absolutely the sweetest, kindest, friendliest nail tech I have ever been to. She does not just go through the motions, she really cares about her customers & does her best to make sure you have an enjoyable experience. The facility is very clean & well kept & I would recommend them to anyone. read more

This place was terrible. They didn't have the colors I picked out and the prices are outrageous. The Uv light for gel kept digging into my foot and the lady kept putting it back in the same place. They rushed the whole thing and on top of that my manicure looks terrible. read more

Heather was amazing. I was trying to find a new salon to use after moving. I had family in and even thought she was short handed she was kind & considerate to all of us. I went with my grandmother and sister to get a pedicure. I sat in "warmish" water for 35-40 (while the water was getting cold) minutes. No one had started my pedicure until after both my sister and grandma were finished. When I was done, I noticed that they had not removed the nail polish that was on my skin around the nail. It took around an hour for something that I could have done better. read more

Horrible place. They took FOREVER to do my nails. They overcharged. There not friendly at all and they didn't do a very good job.

I am not from Azle and was here visiting family and we decided to come get pedicures. When we walked in there were 3 chairs available (3 of us so we thought no wait!) waited 10-15 minutes while numerous nail techs walked around chatting with one another. Then they ran my foot bath water and I asked for hot. Not so much. Luke warm at best. Waited again another 15 minutes until my lady came over. She asked me what I wanted and we asked what was included in each pedi. So she talked us into the deluxe (Paraffin wax, hot stone, extra massage). So she started up and put lotion on my legs. After about 30 seconds of "rubbing" she quickly wiped it off with a towel. Then she went and got the paraffin wax and it was EXTREMELY hot. I told her it was too hot and she continued to rub it on me until I pulled my foot away. Then she put baby oil on my legs and wiped it off too. Next was the stones. That lasted about another minute. Soon after that she "shaped" my nails (not very well but good enough) and then asked me for my color. I told her I wanted a design of "chevron" with pink, orange, and blue. She said "no only 2" so I told her pink and a grey and she yells at me and tells me no Grey just black. Needless to say I could have done my own paint better. We were charged for design and deluxe. My aunt waited almost 40 minutes while they took customers for walk ins while she had her feet soaking. Not worth the wait or price. read more
