at Beba's is a nice local cafe, with a quirky ambience and good, friendly service.
Food was alright (cured salmon bagel with cream cheese and capers) and the coffee was nice too. Sit alfresco on a good day and watch the good looking people go past. The front alfresco is set back from the road a little so it's not so in-your- face as Malvern Road is busy busy busy what with the tramline as well.
Pity that it appears to be frequented by mums with prams or double prams. You know the sort, who think everyone else is in THEIR way and invade your personal space or hog the footpath because it is their god given right etc etc... Which for me, is a bit of a setback really, as I get put off by that sort of people even though at Beba's seems to be a cafe I'd return to again. But perhaps I mig just give it another go and see what that's like.
However, Hawksburn Village is charming enough with its nice mix of boutiques and shops to make up for all that. Good spot for lunch, brunch, breakfast all day too. read more
