I switched from Verizon in July. AT&Twas offering to pay off both our phones with up to 800 per phone. Verizon took forever to send me detailed bills, which showed our payoff. Finally in October I received a debt card for 600. Leaving me 547. To pay off Verizon. I tried to speak to a representative because the second card never came. When I went to the page , it said our other phone, was expired. Verizon has our account in collections. So I have no way to recover any of my past info. I have attempted to call ATT, and there are no numbers that you can actually speak to a human. I would warn anyone considering switching to AT&T, DON'T!!!!! They are a rip off! read more

I am a former customer. I was always satisfied and only switched due to a package promo from "V". I was having trouble with my face recognition and went to the "V" store for some quick help. I was immediately told that they were not "Tech support" and I was directed to the Apple store. Anyone who knows about that, it is a day long ordeal. Frustrated, I went to your Shore Dr location and was warmly greeted by Josh K. He quickly identified the problem as being my screen protector's edge was slightly blocking the camera. I removed the cover and presto! Josh did a fantastic job, and refrained from the "it's not my job" mentality that unfortunately exists. He quickly identified and fixed my issue, pleasantly and epideictically. I was a General Manager for decades with Circuit City and Best Buy, among others. AT&T should be glad that I am no longer, because I would have tried to recruit Josh on the spot. Once my contract runs out with "V", I will be returning to check out your packages. Please pass this on the Josh's Store and District Managers so that he may get the recognition that he deserves. Thanks again for such a wise hiring decision! read more

This store is phenomenal. Both times I have come in, I have been helped relatively promptly by very knowledgable employees. But let me regress. My AT&T Wireless needs have certainly not be routine. I am a long term Verizon customer with unlimited data that I will never give up, regardless of always having to buy at retail. So..... Back to AT&T. It's absolutely the only carrier that works at our country place in Mississippi. And don't even ask about being able to get high speed internet. Without being "connected" I go into a state of panic, regardless of the serenity, wildlife & beauty. And don't dare let me miss a football game!! It was the perfect excuse to buy a new iPad Air. What I needed was an AT&T data only plan. Voila, connectivity!! My plan included setting up service directly with AT&T, rather than the Apple Store, so I could determine the plan that best met my special needs. I visited this AT&T store first a number of months ago and discussed the various options with an extremely knowledgable employee. But I didn't have an immediate need. So I didn't set up service at the time. Terrible mistake!! In early November, frustrated with the bad WIFi in my NYC hotel, I decided to activate service over the phone. It was obvious that the sales person on the phone was clueless. So on hindsight, I should have immediately abandoned the idea. But I was desperate for connectivity and stayed on the phone for hours. Then I waited days for the service to become active. I was optimistic it might happen, since I was told it could take up to 48 hours. When I got back to VB and still had no service, I called. After hours of attempting to correct the account, I was told I needed to go to a store. Easier said than done with my time schedule. In yesterday's mail a bill came for the entire period, even though it showed no data used. So I called..... And was on the phone for hours and hours and hours. Final outcome.... Go to a store. Today, even though sick, I did just that. This AT&T Store is conveniently located in the Town Center corridor. The shopping center has been renovated in the Town Center architectural scheme. The store is extremely easy to locate, occupying the prime end storefront facing Virginia Beach Boulevard. The store decor is as nicely done as the exterior. It is well laid out, giving a spacious feel. Even if one had to wait, this appeared to be a place where it could be comfortably done. I was immediately greeted by a pleasant, nicely dressed manager who took my name and told me someone would be with me soon. I told him my problem was complicated, therefore I needed someone very knowledgeable. That he promised. The names of those waiting are posted on an electronic board. So you know exactly your spot in line. There was a comfortable waiting bench if you feel no need to browse. Greeting me to assist was Jonathon, who was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. He immediately comprehended the whole horrid situation. It took him scant minutes to install a new SIM card & set up a new account. Things went great until he tried to input my credit card for the prepaid plan. It wouldn't work with my PIN number. This required my calling the dreadful 800 number. A rude employee told me my pin was wrong. Jonathon had me put her on speaker phone and told her he could sign into my account with the pin. She was just as rude to him as she was to me, bluntly repeating multiple times that the pin was wrong. All of this attracted a manager, who listened in disbelief. When we asked to speak to a supervisor, the Customer Service employee hung up on us. Both Jonathon & the Manager were extremely friendly and nice. Jonathon asked me to return to the store tomorrow after the account had been active for 24 hours, giving me the hours he would be working. I left, completely happy with the attention this store and its personnel gave to my special needs. My final bit of advice: Don't call the Customer Service 800 number. They are trouble!! read more

If I was going to rate this store with two of their employees that I had misfortune of working with, it would not start from Zero BUT it would start from MINUS zero. They need training Big Time ! on how to talk to their customer and how the customers should be treated. In every business they need to learn, Rule #1 Customer is never wrong and Rule #2 , customer should always be treated with respect . Let me just start by saying, I've been an AT&T customer since it was Cingular Wireless. This particular establishment is without a doubt in my mind, THE WORST AT&T store in the United States. I came in 3.25 hours ago and told them that I was trying to purchase a pair of AirPods that they said they had in stock. I'm still currently waiting to purchase them. How hard is it for them to just check out one thing and swipe my card? This is an absolute travesty. If you are an AT&T customer, then THIS IS THE STORE YOU WANT TO WORK WITH! I have been an AT&T customer (in its various iterations of AT&T, Suncom, Cingular and AT&T again) since 1998. I have always had great service, and when my rep and friend of some 8+ years left the company, I had to find a new store. he directed me to this location, and in particular, Gabby C. Gabby has worked with us from day one, helping us with new products, service recommendations, etc. She has saved us a huge amount of money on our plans, and hooked us up with some really good deals. Of course, the AT&T service itself is unmatched by any company, and Gabby goes the extra mile to make sure her service follow suit. I know one day she will move onto, hopefully into management, but for now, she is my AT&T go-to person. And I am a techie-customer, so I am one of the hardest to please! So make sure you drop by this store. It is always clean, neat, well organized, and usually everything is in stock. If its not, Gabby will do her best to get it in for ya! read more

Unfortunately I have been affected by COVID and as a customer for over 20 years they could not even help with a 2 day extension. Granted my payment was 1 month behind but through no fault of my own my job shut down for 2 weeks which set my pay date back 1 week. My payment was due on Jan 5th and I asked to allow for 2 extra days and they refused. I see that I must reevaluate who I do business with. Came in to upgrade my phone and was told someone would be right with us. There was one associate in the store with multiple customers standing around. The one associate was with a customer so I don't blame her whatsoever for the absolute silence we sat in for 10 minutes. Meanwhile we decided to browse around and all of the iPhones and some androids were completely dead and nothing to look at. We decided to keep waiting and sat down. Meanwhile no other associates on the floor while we hear more than two people in the back hysterically laughing. I have worked in customer service for the last 8 years, clearly know there was a manager or some sort on duty in the back with multiple customers in the store standing around. Bad customer service and a lack of sales floor presence, definitely won't return to this location. If anyone is looking for a good AT&T store the one in Northern Suffolk is great and is always helpful when I go in. read more

After waiting 2 hours to speak to an associate I was finally helped. I bought one iPhone and got one as advertised. The second phone was never set up, my original phone I traded in was immediately slicked before all transfers could be completed. The manager did nothing to help the situation except leave halfway through my conversation with him to sell phone cases since they are commission. For a company I pay 150 to every month for the last 7 years this store and manager completely disgust me. I'll be going elsewhere such as Verizon next time. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service. the associate seemed very unconcerned with my questions. I planned to upgrade my phone, was simply told "We don't have the Galaxy 5", his answers were short with arrogance. My perception was this associate could care less whether we bought anything. Frustrated and angry with the lack of professionalism we left. Ironically, while in Best Buy, getting outstanding service, a women mentioned she had also just come from AT&T and had the same experience with the same associate, when she spoke to the manager, she received the same unprofessionalisum. After a poor experience at this location, imagine my surprise to find a recent history of low marks for poor service at the same location. Overall in the 15+ years I have been an AT&T customer, I get good customer service from them. That's why this store stood out as such a stark contrast. Customer service rep was brusque, unhelpful, dismissive, and literally stood in place in the middle of the store doing nothing, and browsing their phone while I waited for help. Other customer service rep was clearly telling me things about the offer we were working on that were not true. Manager tried to blame the problem I was experiencing that brought me to come there on the online customer service being uninformed (which clearly they were not). Note to store manager: In a leadership role (especially in a customer service/sales related industry) you take ownership of problems and do your best to resolve. The argument of "it's not my fault" is for amateurs. Enjoy a life of mediocrity. Not to mention the review history of problems at this location indicates my experience was not unique. After store manager told me there was "no-one he could call" to connect the dots to what the online service was trying to accomplish by setting an appointment for my visit to this store, I went to my car, made one call to AT&T customer service, and they fixed the problem in 10 minutes, no argument, no trouble understanding the problem, or finding a solution, bypassing the store staff entirely. The problem here isn't the company. The problem is the team staffing this store. Avoid this location. It's unfortunate that the team here is deficient to level of service I typically find when working with AT&T customer service; be it in store, on phone, or online. read more

This location has the laziest employees. We are sitting here waiting watching 5 employees dance to music and check their phones and not help any customers on the list. Only one employee is actually working. The manager forgot to add our name to the list. I've never seen so many lazy employees at one location. The att at hill top is much more efficient. read more

Greeted on arrival, questioned on what brought us in and directed to in-storeTech Support right away. AJ helped us out in about 5min, and made notes on account to get us a refund because a problem with the phone had made it use excessive data. I have to say I came to this place prepared for the worst after reading some previous reviews, but I just needed to try it. I was just too tired of my previous carrier and their very weak signal everywhere that I just thought it was worth a try. But it ended up being a very good experience, great customer service, right after crossing the door someone was greeting me and asking about how she can help me. And she did. I have also to say that I was not the ideal customer they would be expecting. On the one side what they welcomed very well was the fact that I wanted to transfer from my previous carrier. However I know it was not ideal for them that I just wanted to go into a prepaid account and I was bringing my own phone to activate the line. Some days previous to come to the store i gave a first shot online and got even support with live chat. The operator tried to buy me into a plan, however that was also a good experience in the end. I ended up getting a SIM card sent to my house for a price that turned out being lower than going to the store. She told me I had to wait for the card to come and could activate the plan by then. As for my wish to get my number transferred, she told me to all customer service once I got my SIM card. I was ok with that. When I received the card, like four days later I called the number written on the instruction before trying to activate it. That was a very bad experience, they played me out on the phone, and after several questions they realized I was going to a prepaid account, so they told me to hold while they transferred me to the correct department. That was a line that started asking my number, which I didn't have, since I haven't yet activated it. I called again, I was outplayed again, I lost a lot of time and was disappointed. I decided to activate the line and saw that I got a new number, which is not what I wanted. I tried the line they gave me again for customer service for the "correct department" but that is a fully automated system with no option for what I wanted, to transfer my line from the previous carrier. But to do that I made a filling into that line... I felt really disappointed for that, i paid for the card to be sent, and I paid for my prepaid plan, and was not able to get what I wanted, as simple as it sounds. So I decided to go to the store the next day. And that is what I did, and I was ready for the fight. But the girl that helped me there was very supportive. I explained what happened and she started immediately with it. I was fearing I would have to acquire a new SIM card, since I got a number activated, and that got sadly confirmed. She explained that in a nice way. But then the good news was, I didn't have to refill it, she transferred the funds from the other card. And she did everything required to transfer my number from the other carrier, which was a lot of work. Even after noticing I went for a prepaid plan, she didn't try to convince me to buy anything additional or to go for a plan. She worked to get me my number activated, and she succeeded doing so. And I didn't have to wait. So in the end of the day i got what I wanted and can only talk positive about this store. However I have to say the customer service on the phone was really a bad experience. So I recommend better to go to the store, and I can really recommend this one. And while I was there, other customers that arrived got the same good experience, there were enough service people there, we didn't have to wait at all, and they were all kind and willing to help. read more

This is one of the best AT&T stores I have been to. Everyone know's it's always a pain to have to go in, but each time we went to the store to try to change our plan (it was a multi-step process), they were always willing to help and happy to do so. We spent 2 hours in the store with Ryan as he tried to navigate through the process both with us and with customer service on the phone. It could have easily been a nightmarish experience, but Ryan was so helpful and down-to-earth, not pushy and legitimately wanted to help us just finish the process. Well done to the entire staff - I no longer dread going into AT&T stores. read more

I'm extremely frustrated with this company. My Father had a cell phone through them with automatic payments (big mistake for him because he was on a Veteran's fixed income). Every time he went into the Virginia Beach location he came back excited about the "free" tablet or accessory that was offered to him...he found out the following month about the "free" usage charges and the cost of an additional line that also extended his contract. He used that tablet maybe twice to play a game of solitaire. Eventually his contract was up and I switched him to my TMobile family plan to save him money. That as such a hassle from the AT&T side. It took at least 3 months to get straight that he no longer had AT&T. The company kept withdrawing payments automatically. I'd call and complain, they overdrafted his account once with their unexpected withdrawal. They refunded his money and apologized about the confusion. The excuses get old after a few months!!! I had to ask them to take out his bank info so that would stop happening! NOW here's where it gets even better! We ended his account October or November of 2017. Today (May 21, 2019) we have received a bill from collections wanting additional $$$ for AT&T. So I called lovely AT&T and they had no way of looking up his account, they said I had to call the collectors for information because he no longer has an account there!!!! Collectors said they AT&T re-opened his account in May 2019 and found this unpaid balance. This was the same kind of miscommunication as before yet this time no one from AT&T or this collection agency could tell me more info about. Have not heard from AT&T about this balance, they went straight to collections yet they say they tried to contact him. He has the same phone number and same address for years....I was told in 30 days it would begin to affect his credit. So we paid a portion of it today and are very unhappy about that. So I will always cringe when I hear anyone mention AT&T and I will not be shy to share the experience we have had with this company. Worst customer service! I went in there after my cell service was disconnect, even though I had a $0 balance. There were quite a few customers in there but I never actually saw someone that worked there. Finally, a very irritated customer opened some side door and someone actually came out to help him. I thought they had finished and she was just walking him to the door until she walked out behind him and never returned. Walked out with a store full of customers! WTF???? I think it may be time to switch over to Verizon! read more
