I immediately ordered a new phone, which arrived and was activated on the Boost network on 7/6/24. Since then I have not received "short code" SMS messages. Short codes are used by numerous web sites for two-factor authentication. Banks, Amazon, PayPal, Ebay, Samsung, Google, and many other web sites text a five- or six-digit numeric code to your phone when you attempt to log in if two-factor authentication is enabled in your account settings. I've since placed at least a half dozen calls to Boost Mobile technical support in a vain attempt to resolve the problem. I'd estimate the cumulative duration of those calls to be at least 3 to 4 hours, possibly longer. Their technical support personnel seemed to have no idea how to resolve the problem. They directed me to make all sorts of changes to my phone's configuration, most of which could not possibly have anything to do with the problem. They were flailing, telling me to do this, that, and the other thing, none of which had any effect. During my last call to their support line (7/16/24 at approximately 5:00 PM Central time), I demanded to speak to a supervisor. After about 20 minutes on hold I was connected to someone. After explaining the problem and the many failed attempts to resolve it, I asked her to issue a refund for the remaining 9 months on the contract (from 7/22/24 to 4/22/25). Given that I was making the request for no reason other than that Boost Mobile's service was not working as advertised, I thought it was a reasonable request. (I left aside the period from 7/6/24 to 7/16/24, during which time their service did not work as advertised and in accordance with the terms of the contract. I was willing to let that go for the sake of an amicable resolution.) The representative stated no refund could be issued, even as she acknowledged that the problem was on Boost Mobile's end. I'm sure if I examine the fine print of the agreement I'll find that Boost Mobile is not technically, legally required to issue a refund in this circumstance. But that doesn't change the fact that it's fundamentally wrong and bad business practice. If a customer prepays for 12 months of trouble-free service and you can provide only 3 months, you should issue a refund for the remainder. Period. There are dozens of other cellular providers out there. Stay away from Boost Mobile.

I even made reference to this with the reps (An EASY Sale) as I entered the store... Only they gave me the impression they didn't care and appeared more concerned about the time on the clock. Okay fine... I'll take my business to another Verizon store, which I did the following (11.06.21) day. Once again, I entered the store eager to get the newest iphone and improved cellular service. So, I sat with a rep 'Nathen' and after roughly 30 minutes I left with a handwritten scrap piece of paper with my order number, a description of what I would receive and, the sales reps name and number. His instructions were to simply monitor my email and track my order, they would follow up with me once it arrived. Moving forward, I received one email which only read the order was "Shipped" under the status. I checked multiple times a day for over a month before finally calling the rep (12.12.21) to get a personal update. Well, he never answered his phone and his vm did not accept messages as, it indicated it was full. So, I called the store and spoke directly with one of the reps. This rep 'Nick' indicated to me that my phone was delivered but nobody in the store knows what happened to it. He told me this has never ever happened before and will investigate further and call me back... Never received that call. I called back (12.15.21)... asked to speak with the store manager. Representative that answered 'Anthony' told me they did not have an active manager in the store but he could help. After giving him all of the particulars... He told me the order & tracking numbers indicated it was delivered there but nobody there could speak for it or locate it but, he assured me he would get me answers but first he needed to consult with management and the other associates. I replied, "That's what the previous rep told me and I never received a follow-up. Anthony responded, "I guarantee you I will personally call you back within 2 hours," Lmao - Guarantee WHAT? SO... I was about to call it quits with ever doing business with Verizon again! However, my girlfriend continued to urge me to visit another store near her and give this Charlie a chance... There was a little distance between this store and my home however, she insisted he would resolve the issue and present me with a great deal as Charlie had done for both her and her mother. She even called him in advance and shared my experiences with the two previous Verizon stores. Without hesitation, Charlie exercised his resources and expedited the exact phone I had previously ordered to his store in just a couple of days. Whatsmore, upon meeting Charlie Pullara... his innate sense of personal attention and customer care is exceptional. Also, with Charlie it isn't some fake sales pitch his personality is completely organic. He managed to deliver in short time the phone I wanted, was thoughtful in listening to questions and concerns and even apologized for the bad experiences I had with the other store locations. Thanks Charlie... You've restored my faith in humanity. A+

I guess he wanted me to spend $54 on a glass screen protector when u can get one at Walmart for $15. He was just a jerk! I think his name was Keegan. Go to Jimmy instead. I was on my way back from the Chicago Western Suburbs, driving back to Milwaukee after visiting my dying father in a hospital. I had to take a call from a close out of town out of the country relative and it was too cold standing outside to talk to I ducked into the nearest store, this one. There was no one else in the store, and the sales guy came up to see if I needed help but then overheard enough that he politely and discreetly turned around and surreptitiously went about his business. When I finished the phone call he recognized I didn't actually want any paint and left me be even though I didn't leave. I can't explain why but I was staring at some cans of paint, and later it registered on me that they have a pretty good stock, and of course Benjamin Moore is a high quality paint. I think one of the foundations of good customer service is reading customers and figuring out what we need. I'll tell you when I do need paint, I'm coming back here even though it's 45 minutes from where I live. It's next to an excellent Thai restaurant. One more plus, the owner supports the Northwestern Wildcats.
