In the past, when I bought iPads, iPhones, or iWatches and needed assistance in setup or service, I used Mark Weissman at this store. To this day, I occasionally correspond with him by email, when I have questions. He is outstanding. But I was disappointed, when I learned that he had moved and been promoted to store manager at another AT&T Store location outside Lawrence (at Legends Mall in Kansas City). Last week I bought a new iPhone and iWatch, and I needed advice and assistance with the purchase, choice of accessories, and setup. I went there twice last week and talked to two of the representatives. I was very happy again to find a very highly competent and helpful representative. Her name is Laurie Love. I would highly recommend her, if you should need assistance from an AT&T Representative. There is another, newer AT&T Store in Lawrence. I have not been to that one. But I understand that it is not owned by AT&T. I also have AT&T Uverse service at my home in Lawrence. I prefer assistance from representatives who are employed at an AT&T owned store. Another option is the Best Buy store located near the AT&T Store I use on South Iowa. The Best Buy Store has a larger inventory in stock than the AT&T Store. In fact, I ended up buying the iWatch from Best Buy, since they had the one I wanted in stock, while the AT&T Store did not. But I then had the iWatch set up and linked to my new iPhone by Laurie Love at the AT&T Store. At the Best Buy store, I was told I would have to pay one of their Geek Squad service people to do that. There was no charge for that service and assistance at the AT&T Store, even though I bought the iWatch at Best Buy. read more

I have such a love/hate relationship with this store. Honestly, I never know which I am going to get when I enter. I have had some fabulous service experiences here and some others that were just terrible. For starters, I have been an AT&T customer forever. I like their service and their prices. They have done great at repairing my stuff and answering questions. No problems at all. The trouble I have is mainly at the store. There have been times when they have promised me they would do something but they do not. I spent a whole week trying to transfer a friends number to my account. It was infuriating. I finally had to pitch a black-and-blue public fit before I got the help I needed. It was tiresome to go there every day to try to get this minor issue fixed. I do not think the store staff is adequately trained. It seems there is a big gap in what can be done at the local stores and what is done at corporate level. Often the staff at local store has to call to corporate AT&T for authorization or answers. It is not a huge deal and I understand but it is frustrating for the consumer and for the local staff. One good thing is they always ask for identification when I get service. It's a pain in the behind but I appreciate their due diligence in keeping customer information safe. The store in Lawrence is like every other AT&T store. Uncomfortable. They have these high tables with barstools. It is very uncomfortable to sit in those chairs and focus on business. There are a few regular tables and I always opt those those first. Get rid of the barstools AT&T! In the Lawrence office there is plenty of parking and a private parking lot. All good. For the most part, staff has been nice but inconsistent with service. read more

I have to agree with Tracy B's review the customer service is so hit or miss, it makes you feel like they all have polar opposite training. Usually when I walk in I'm greeted and "checked in" since most electronic stores have an electronic sign in. I wasn't....waited around for about 10 minutes before I was put on it. It was a busy Friday evening, which is expected because after 5 is when most people are off work. I got help about 45 minutes later, and I had a few questions about the Apple watches the lady helping me was pretty nice but seemed a little irritated. I decided on the black one, and when she came from the back empty handed I was told they were out of stock. Then she said I could try Best Buy or target but I should call first to see if they have it in stock. So as I was calling these stores myself, she let me know she was upset because she was fighting with her boyfriend. Not really a professional move or something I wanted to hear...although it does happen keep your personal life separate from your business one! This explains the irritated attitudes. Once I got ahold of both stores they let me know they didn't have any cellular watches in stock. The lady helping me then suggested I call Walmart and see if they do. I know it isn't her job description to call other stores and check, but it would've been nice for her to call at least one store since she was suggesting everyone do it prior to me ordering it online through her. I said I would probably order it online with her, and she kept trying to convince me to go online and do it myself. Ummm I'm here now, and you're already logged onto the sight. I'm sorry that it's 7:50 and you're about to close but I got here at 6:30; I would appreciate a little help! I ended up ordering it with her, and she apologized for the bad service so I added an extra star because it was only going to be one. Since the price the Apple Watch was advertised on display for 199.99 it actually rang up for 299.99, pretty big difference. read more

ATT is terrible. Spent 6 hrs on the phone with various recordings and inept, non english speaking representatives trying to get a package of phone, cable and internet services. I was told some great prices which turned out to be lies. In the end I gave up because the company is not customer focused, the employees don't know what they are talking about and one must provide too much personal information which we all know they will not protect. I highly do not recommend ATT. read more

My SIM card went out in my phone - knew I had to go in and get it fixed but was hesitant because my phone is older and I figured I would be pressured to upgrade mine. To my surprise I had a fantastic employee - Robin Tripkos - that had my phone fixed in minutes and there was no pressure to "upgrade" my phone. Normally going to the ATT store would be cause for me to want to pull my own teeth out with pliers all while using no anesthesia, but Jason and the guys at the Iowa store were AMAZING. I had some issues with an upgrade and they were able to take care of it and stop me from having a breakdown in the store. Jason set everything up and helped my mom and I trade our old iPhones for new 7s. Best ATT store experience I've ever had. Thanks guys!! read more

Every time I go to this AT&T store I get an amazing experience. I just went in their two days ago for my grandparents who are not very tech savvy meaning that they have a flip phone with minutes and no texting. We were helped by Travis who was all around wonderful. Knew the answer to every question and we had a pleasant time. My grandmother got her first smartphone and he was helpful from start to finish. While my grandfather got a new flip phone. Now they didn't have any in stock so we went to Walmart and brought it back and he put a SIM card in it. And I can guarantee you that it was not his fault that we spent nearly 2 hours in the store. The plan that the flip phone is on is so old that it was fighting the system but he managed to get through it. I was so pleased at how helpful and pleasant he was to work with. I am my grandparents tech support so I was there to make sure they understood everything and Travis made sure that we knew exactly what he was trying to say. I will now be back in a couple weeks to upgrade my phone and I am definitely going to request to work with Travis again. They are friendly and helpful on the front end, but God help you if you have a problem and need their help over the phone. I was in Mexico, and could not get them to answer their phone for three hours. Then they said they couldn't help me because of "security"- I had to come in with a photo ID. They gave me an international number to call, which resulted in an endless loop of menus that never got me to a live person. They said, "that shouldn't happen", and then I repeated the experience with them listening. They told me I should have entered a random phone number to get through (Why didn't I think of that?). Finally worked, but I am sitting here on hold waiting for a rep. We'll see. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. ATT's customer service will give you heartburn. read more

I have had so many problems with AT&T. I have had a phone call this week from Senator Jerry Moran. I have been contacted via snail mail by the Attorney General of California. I was called today by the president of AT&T. They will eventually have to drop all charges I DO NOT OWE. I will not pay something I don't owe and keep getting harassed by. This location has the WORST customer service; they are rude and provide very inconsistent information amongst each other and information I have received via other AT&T locations. Also, do not buy apple products from them, they only refer you to the apple store and have no helpful information/guidance to provide regarding those products. read more

The minute you approach the door, they're opening it for you, welcoming you in and asking what they can do to help, how your day is going, etc. They get brownie points for professionalism and customer service. Unfortunately, they lose out on that last star from one of their sales reps Mark. He comes off as "THAT GUY" trying to sell you a '96 Buick for 3x its worth, salvaged title and all. Just seems very ingenuine and unfortunately both times I got stuck with him and didn't want to be rude and ask for someone else. However, MATT on the other hand, is a godsend. Try and ask for him when you get there. He shows compassion and isn't about the almighty dollar. He worked at the other branch and got transferred to this location and I always wish I can get him to be the one to help me. No such luck. C'est la vie. read more

As an AT&T corporate employee, I am incredibly disappointed in the service I received at this location. I drove up to the front of the store, to simply get a new SIM card that was waiting for me at the counter and the man behind the counter ran up to the door and locked it before I could get to the door and proceeded to mouth the words "We're closed." I'm disgusted with their lack of compassion and service. read more

To clarify, this is not about the store, but about the internet service through AT&T. I initially called around to ask about getting internet service in Lawrence and when I talked to AT&T the representative he offered me two promotions, free equipment and half-price installation. I jumped on the deal, but when my bill arrived it was full price. I called customer service to ask and the representative said the promotions were only applicable if I received phone service as well, though I asked to make sure I would get the promotions and was reassured it was no problem. After being told I wouldn't I said I wanted to cancel my service and got put on hold for about half an hour to transfer someone. Upon her answering she asked what service I had, found out it was the wrong kind and put me on hold again to transfer me to the right department. This happened once more and took a total of another half hour of my time. Then, when I was put through to the right representative he informed me I did get the credit for the free equipment no problem! They just hadn't seen it when I asked initially about it. I was then promised the credit for the half price installation, again. We will see if it pans out and I get the credit I was told I would this time around, but I know, the second that money comes in the mail I will cancel AT&T and go with a more reliable internet service. read more
