just now New My 78 year old mother went to the AT&T store in Eldersburg , MD. She was helped by the store manager Jonas S. Jonas did not help her but completely took advantage of her!! We've been with AT&T since January 2021 and have been very happy, Mother simply needed a new phone as she's had the same iPhone 11 since January 2021. About five days later since we are on a family plan, my phone was having some issues and I tried to file an insurance claim Well, upon further investigation, Mr. Jonas canceled our insurance and then re-issued it added a Line to my mother's phone that he didn't even tell her about so now she has two phone numbers to the same And he sold her what he called was a bundle of free merchandise, which turned out to be $130 worth of accessories that she's paying for $10 a month and did not want , ask for or need!! All these things were completely unnecessary!!! All she wanted was an updated phone!!! I I spent over an hour on the phone with AT&T customer support. They can't figure out why or what Jonas did, I went into the store to speak to him and he's off for 5 days And the associate there, Dylan, looked at me like a deer in headlights, refused to give any assistance or to give out the district managers contact information and just told me simply come back when Jonas is here. I called around to the other stores in their district and did speak with Matt who is the manager of the Westminster store. Matt listen to me with With empathy and said he would reach out to Zack who is this district manager . I provided my phone number and email but two days later I've failed to hear anything from Zack!! This is appalling, and I am contacting the Attorney General of the state of Maryland to file a complaint Regarding predatory sales tactics against seniors. my niece purchased an iPhone 16 from your store. The sales associate assisted her with activating the device and transferring her data before she left the store. However, once she arrived home, she discovered the phone was not functioning properly. It would not download applications and was essentially unusable. The following day, I accompanied my niece back to the AT&T store. We were informed that the phone had an error and were advised to take it to the Apple Store for further evaluation. We then went to the Apple Store who reported it was a software issue, then to the AT&T sore in Owings Mills, MD, where the manager examined the device and confirmed there was a software issue causing the malfunction. We were advised to return to the original store for an exchange. Upon returning to the Sykesville location, staff acknowledged that they could see the software issue. However, we were told that we could not receive a replacement device without paying a $55 restocking fee unless a manager (Jonas) approved a waiver. We were further informed that the manager would be out for the next two days and that we would need to return on Saturday to request the fee waiver. She is essentially without a phone for the next two days because there is no manager in the store. I do not believe there is not a person who can cover for the manger on off days. I initially visited the store to replace my "lifetime replacement" screen protector, which I was told came with free replacements. However, replacements actually cost $10. I was ready to pay the fee, but I didn't have my card and planned to pay cash. Unfortunately, Jonas, the manager, didn't have change for my $20 bill, so I left. Later, I received a text saying I had signed up for AT&T Home Tech Protection, which was strange because I hadn't agreed to any add-ons. When I checked my account, I saw the protection plan had been added. I returned to the store to confront Jonas, but he denied adding it. It seems suspicious that it appeared on my account right after my visit. This store has questionable business practices--be sure to check your bills after dealing with them. read more

Lady was extremely rude. We came at 5:50 on a Wednesday, sign says they are open till 8. She had locked the door and wouldn't answer it. Even when knocking she just ignored us. Tried calling and she hung up on me. Went back to knocking on the door and pointed to the hours and she flicked me off. Horrible customer service, horrible lady needs to be fired ASAP. Walked into get service on one of my 12 plus lines and was treated horribly. The gentle from the moment I walked in was to important to even recognize me standing 10 foot from his seat. Never even got up. After I explained what I needed he said he couldn't provide the service I needed. Which has been provided 5 times at this location. So I asked if he was a salesman or what. Trying to find out if i needed to speak with the other associate instead.And he got offend told me I had agenda and he didn't like my tone. Mean while I called him sir and when speaking to others about him I referred to him as the gentlemen. I believe because I was white he assumed I was racist and didn't attempt to help me. If that's not the definition of racism I don't know what is. This gentleman judged that I was being difficult and giving him a hard time because he was African American. Not because he provided crappy service. Never said anything out of line other then asking him if he was a salesman. Spoke to him and of him with respect at all times. I asked for his name to leave a complaint and he would not provide it. I specifically said I just need ur name to leave a complaint and I'll leave. Still would not provide it. In my opinion because he knew he was wrong and didnt want to be identified to customer service or the store manager. Thought others should know how I was treated.
