On 1/28/16 I entered the store and waited 1 hour for service. Ok, understandable, there were a few people ahead of me. I was requesting a Disney discount. The salesperson Catherine (sp?) inputted the discount info. Upon arriving home, I received an email to call the AT&T phone line to verify the discount. I was told on the phone that I needed to return to the store, with Paystubs and ID because they could not find the info, because it was entered incorrectly at the store.
On 1/30/16 I returned to the store. There was one couple ahead of me. I waited 20 minutes. Another customer then arrived behind me. At this point Catherine, as per script, asked us 'what brings you in today?'
I said I need to straighten out this discount, that I was here a couple days ago.
The other woman, behind me, states her phone is blank and she needs to get to work by 5pm because she delivers pizza for Hungry Howies.
Catherine proceeded to service the Hungry Howie's girl (while still dealing with the original couple) ignoring me. After handling HH girl's phone, looking in back several times and discussing new phones, HH girl leaves in defeat.
The original couple is still there.
I said nothing.
The original couple was told by Catherine how "Amazing" and "wonderful" they were.
They were escorted to the door by Catherine and she even HUGGED the female.
How UNPROFESSIONAL!
She returned to the desk and I told her that I was not going to be "Amazing" and her behavior was totally unprofessional. The fact that she attended to the HH girl before me, despite me having arrived first was what did it for me. That says to me that Catherine gets to determine HH girl's time is more valuable than mine or another person. She tried to tell me that my 'problem' would take a 'long time' to fix. (which ironically was fixed by another AT&T store in a matter or 5 minutes - 10 days later) I think, and this is just conjecture, that Catherine 'smelled money' and was bending over backwards for high $ sales, of which I was not one.
Catherine got in my face.
Refused service and told me to leave the store. I said, "what, without a hug?"
I've been a customer of AT& T for 16 continuous years.
It is NOT the job of a salesperson to TRIAGE nor CULL for customers as if were an EMERGENCY ROOM. You take them in the order they arrive. Period.
In a word, why I left AT&T? = CATHERINE
