Out almost $400 by time I had to replace the stylus, didn't have the laptop for 3 weeks and now I have a whole 15 minutes extra battery life. Extremely disappointing.

Well, you are the insurance repair shop and I'm sure you deal with this on a regular basis, i just wanted guidance on how to proceed. I was very kind to these people and was rather taken aback at the rude comment and lack of business acumen from a repair technician who really should be there to give you help. It was very obvious that he was not interested in doing his job or even displaying common courtesy. We were the only customers in the store so he could have given us his full attention. He gave us some BS answer as to why we couldn't complete the deal and offered no apologies or anything. He just mumbled incoherently and kept looking at his phone.
