The contractors who installed the physical cables made a mess of the neighborhood, busting sidewalks, pavement and curbs, and left piles of stone and debris everywhere, taking over a month to clean up. I had the service for 2 years. It was solid, and the install went well. Trouble began when I needed to move. It took an hour on the phone and another hour in chat to finally get the service canceled. With only 8 days into the bill cycle, I could not get prorated for the remaining 22 days I could not use as I have left the location. I would never consider AT&T for any services again. read more

Quite dissatisfied with AT&T Wireless Internet. Granted we're in a small town (Runge, Tx) but that should not make a difference. Service gets interrupted often. Today alone, I counted it going out 14 times and at least a dozen times this week. Using it for streaming? be prepared for what your watching to cut off. Working on something online? Better save everything you type every few minutes lest you lose it. Gaming? Be prepared to get kicked out of games and losing whatever it was you had going at the time. A loyal customer for nine years. Recent outage of internet, TV and landline phone causing us significant problems. AT&T assigned a tech but one week before he/she could arrive to diagnose problem. Outages occur and are understandable but whole week of downtime is unacceptable! This is the worst service ever. I have been with att since early 1990s. Text doesn't work. Wifi is slow, even though i have fiber. My pass code oesn't work and my password doesn't work. Their website is the slowest and jackedup site I've ever used. I pay for wifi, wireless and TV and it's wise than anything I've ever seen. Final update: This was a mass outage that affected many people. Although we were without cable and television for many hours, it was restored late the following day. The fact AT&T chooses to use customer service representatives over seas instead of here locally, probably explains why they had no clue this was a mass outage. Just another reason to bring back jobs to the U.S.! I had a fence replaced in my back yard. When they were digging in a new post, they cut my cable from AT&T for my Internet. I checked the cable myself, and found that it had not been buried in my backyard when it was installed, but literally laid across the ground. I called AT&T for a repair, and they said they would send someone out to repair for $100.00. I explained that the cable was laid across the yard and never buried, so it really wasn't my responsibility. They agreed. A few days later, a guy from AT&T comes out and runs a new cable, burying it across the back of my yard. AT&T then pushed through the $100 fee. When I called to dispute, I was told that there were no notes to the effect that the cable had not been buried, and the technician notes indicated nothing further. Just awful since we moved and getting worse. Put my router in the wrong place when we moved even though I requested it elsewhere, then tried to charge me to have it moved once I HAD to have it moved for the whole home services (Alexa, ring, Honeywell). After 1 1/2 hours on the phone they finally agreed to remove the charge. After they didn't bury the line (clearly forgot) and my kids dog chewed through it. 6 weeks and the line was still in my grass. Had to call again to replace the week of thanksgiving. Wow! What an incompetent bureaucracy! Canceling service should be a straightforward procedure, but for AT&T, this is seemingly a formidable challenge. I'd canceled service the end of January 2022 and as of this review, they still have a credit on my account they haven't refunded me and also a past due balance for service I no longer have! Huh? I've had to call customer service EVERY month since I'd canceled and it's the same story..."I'm very sorry for your problem, what's your account number please?" If you can get someone on the phone who speaks fluent, articulate English, you're a lucky soul because it sounds like customer service has been offshored to Bangalore. My issue is a billing issue and I'm speaking to ...a tech support rep? ...who's on the phone with a billing rep?? Apparently if one is an angry customer -- and I asked them to please record the call -- they keep you at arm's length..? I finally asked the tech rep why I was speaking with her in tech support since I had a billing issue. No clear answer. She asked if I had something else to do while on hold and she would call me back if it was more convenient. I told her I was writing a review on Yelp as we speak and would remain on hold until the issue was dealt with and I received an email from them, enumerating the solution. Why am I so angry? I have a credit from overpayment due me, but they're still billing me for service (recent bill says I'm past due), so the account credit will eventually be used to pay the bill...for service I no longer have. What happens if I do nothing? The credit will be used up by subsequent bills and if I don't pay the balance due, my account will go in arrears and eventually affect my credit. In every previous phone correspondence with them, I'd exercised restraint and was courteous because I'd realized that who I was talking to, was not directly at fault. I really don't like to hammer on front line/second tier representatives, but there comes a point where enough is enough and taking the corporate status quo for an answer is not an option. Quite frankly, if I had to do it over again, I would've been more assertive from the very first phone call to them. Frequent problems and monthly "maintenance" We have experienced problems roughly once a month over the past 14 months with this service. We are currently faced with a week long outage due to faulty equipment. If considering U-verse be aware that that monthly "maintenance" of the system is required on the customer's part to ensure proper performance. This means you are expected to reboot the router and DVR once a month if you would like the system to work as promised. In addition, regardless of what you pay for your service (we pay over $7 a day) they will only give you $3 a day for outage. This means that We are paying the difference of $4 a day this week while We wait for them to deliver our new DVR. Lastly, when the DVR arrives they expect us to install it. In the end, if consistent access to your cable service is a priority consider other providers. HEARING THE ACRONYM AT&T MAKES ME WANT TO CRAWL INTO A HOLE & CURL UP IN THE FETAL POSITION AND SUCK MY THUMB! AT&T is the absolute worst service provider of any kind. Over a year ago my wife suggested we switch to save some money, I was extremely cautious & didn't have a good feeling about it but she persisted. However when I finally caved they initiated service and after 3 months I called to cancel because of the price increase, they attempted to "save us" and upon doing so offered a bundled tv, internet & landline package. When they set it up they added 2 landlines to our account on accident and we didn't catch it until 60 days after the change to our account. I tried to call to get the 2nd landline cancelled, long story bearable - 1 year later and 48 hours of call time (4 hours a month), it was finally cancelled after threatening a lawsuit. Now, my wife has given them a second chance...and I could see the dark clouds in the distance when she informed me she had changed providers again. (SMH) We arrived home last night after shopping, leaving the house around noon and returning at 6 o'clock. When we left I noticed 2 AT&T trucks down at my buddies house & thought nothing of it until we returned to have NO INTERNET!!! I checked my boxes, powered them down and still no connection and one box had a solid red light and the modem was blinking red. We ran a diag on our cell phone through the AT&T app & no outages in our immediate area but definitely a communication issue. (((Steps ahead of AT&T already at this point knowing they're going to have us do this anyway))). So I then walked our Fiber Line ***WHICH WAS NEVER BURIED BY AT&T EVEN AFTER MULTIPLE CALLS*** down our alley 5 houses to low & behold it lead to...my buddies house where the technicians were working. What did I find you ask - CUT FIBER WIRES & MINE WAS ONE OF THEM!! So I proceed to call AT&T, on hold for 20 minutes someone picks up and hangs up on us. Call back, on hold for 40 minutes at this point it's nearing 9pm. I finally get through to a rep - give him our phone number (never changed) can't pull up our account. So I give him the only other phone number it could be and no account found. Give him the address...can't pull it up so I had to finally gave him the account number and it pulled right up. Then we find out somehow they had changed our telephone number to all 1's. And they wouldn't tell me why the address didn't bring anything up. None the less, they couldn't send out the technician that screwed up the lines because there was no proof and management at the call center has no authority or ability to contact management at the dispatch center. We run a business from home and are charged a 25% late fee on each order if our orders aren't turned in before 9pm. We have invoices ranging from $25 to $5000 ((do the math here)), do you think AT&T will reimburse us for our losses? Nope! I attempted to get this manager to escalate this for this very reason but because we aren't a major business paying thousands a year we weren't treated to the same standards. So we're without internet for the next 40 hours before a technician can come out and tell us what the problem is WHICH WILL BE THE FACT THAT THEY CUT THE LINE!!!! When our contract is up I will be cancelling service and we will NEVER EVER RETURN TO AT&T!!!! AT&T will never be a name in my home ever again, EVER. Worst experience of my life!! First installer shows up tells me the cable from my house to the main feed is bad. He said another tech will be out to fix this and I needed to be home. No one shows up of course, of course waste my day waiting. Come home from work a couple of days later there's a AT&T van in front of my house. Approximately an hour its gone, my neighbor comes by and ask if my AT&T is working. So I explained what happened about my line being fixed and well of course the tech took my nieghbors service down "what an idiot". So another installer shows up to install my U-Verse for some reason this tech loves to splice cables. He splices my cables to my network cameras so I know I have two of my cameras not working. Why would he touch my cabling this guy was clueless he never finished the install and he just left. Left his tools along with a mess. So I tried to get a hold of him he doesn't answer to calls or text. Now I'm waiting to hear from his supervisor and nothing. Who the f@&k trains these tards!? We have been using AT&T cable bundle with phone and Wifi for about two and a half years. Most of this time we have had problems mostly associated with the cable which was weekly. They came out to fix it just recently and all of a sudden we had terrible wifi service. After they replace the modem twice and rewired the house. Tomorrow we are expecting our 6th service technician come out in the last 14 days to try to analyze the problem. The service tech guys have all been very professional and courteous. It just seems like the company does not want to take the necessary steps like replacing or checking the area line that feed into our homes. Also I've asked about four or five different people how do we get some type of credit for the loss of service and they all promise to pass along my request and we hear nothing. It takes about one hour to turn in a work order each time you call. It gets old really fast when you know you're going to get the Same Song & Dance over and over again. We plan to cancel soon. They sent the boss / Field rep... He listens, nods and leaves.. No follow up, "M." We really depend on our internet for our livelihood. Shame on you AT&T! read more

Let me first start off by saying that I just moved into my apartment this past Saturday, I wanted some wifi, called AT&T they stated that a tech would be out Thursday between 10-12pm well I waited until 1130 to call and for them to tell me that I have an account that someone else has... well 40 mins later and 5 people I expected a time for the tech to come, but I was met with another problem the previous person that lived in this unit account was still active! 1: Ordered services June 2 to start on residency June 5 closing date. They sent all equipment to a residence that was yet to be occupied via fed ex and delivery could not be changed due to sender restrictions. 2: 3 hours on customer service line to attempt to fix the above issue. Spent cumulative 20 minutes actually talking to a person. Issue was not resolved. Had to drive across town to wait another hour out side a house I didn't own yet for a package to be delivered. 3: With AT&T less then a month with 1G plan, supposedly best internet plan. Periodically drops out for no apparent reason. 4: still less then a month into service with AT&T, internet completely drops out. Called customer service to get another machine, ask for a representative and get the same machine response as before. Had to search the internet (that service that I don't have) for several numbers to call before I got the right one. 5: finally get a representative for the basic troubleshooting, everything you would already think of to do. To scheduling an appointment July 3, leaving me with no internet for an entire day. ( there goes whatever classes you have or computer you intended to use for work). I just had to post this. After numerous appointments placed with AT&T to upgrade our internet service to fiber optic I have irrefutable proof of AT&T's dishonesty. On at least 3 occassions AT&T's service technicians have made excuses to install our service. At other times they've been a no call no show. On one visit I was told there was a problem with an outside line and that they would return to connect my service that same day. Once it was evident they were not returning I called AT&T and the phone agent read the technician's notes which totally differed from his statement to me in person as to why he could not connect service. The excuses on these appointments ranged from inability to reach a pole that they constantly altered the location to, inability to contact the neighbor to said pole on their property (which they also altered the location to) when I had texted confirmation from my neighbor that access was provided, dogs in a "dogless" yard, and then recently they alleged that the pole was too rotten and unsafe to climb. The latter excuse was used twice which seemingly ended any further ability for future service requests as they told me that unless the city replaced the pole, they couldn't safely climb it. Well here you go...here's the 3rd party contracted climbing the unclimbable rotten pole...I took video as well which I will try to post if posible. read more

I had At&t at my old apartment and had little problems with them. They were a little late on my installation appointment and took forever but it was ok. My internet cut out every now and then which was a little bit annoying. If I would have stayed at my apartment I would have rated them 3 stars because it was ok but not super good or perfect. Recently I moved into a new house and my recommended service to use was spectrum. I talked to a representative with spectrum who told me At&t would be slow at my location. At first I didn't believe them because they are competitors so I assumed they just wanted to steal my business. I wanted to check for myself so I called At&t and they informed me that spectrum was wrong. They specifically told me that I would get 100 mb upload and download speeds and fiber ops. So that made me decide to stay with them. They told me to be home between the hours of 1 and 3 so I got there at 12:45. The tech didn't show up until around 4:40 super late and didn't finish until almost 7. While he was there he informed me that I'm only going to get 18mb upload and download speeds and no fiber ops. If they would have been honest with me over the phone I wouldn't of even bothered with the installation. The reps at spectrum were actually honest with me so I'm going to have to switch to them because they will definitely be able to get me faster speed. Customer service are only words the company recites but does not practice. My original appointment was for Tuesday but i received text messages that it was changed to Wednesday and then Thursday. On Thursday I received a text that the technician would be delayed. I went to clean my front steps and saw a note on door that technician had left stating no one was home. (Our doorbell rings very loud and there was a car in the driveway) I immediately called AT&T as the note had a time of 11:15 and it was 11:45 when I saw the note. The customer service people are not in the USA and are in Asia. My first call lasted 14 minutes with assurance that the technician would be coming back but unable to give me an exact time. After 5 hours I called customer service and this time was on the call for 20 minuets and asked to speak to a manager. I was put on hold and finally told the manager would call me back in 10 minutes. One hour later no call. Called again and this time asked to be transferred to a US based customer service. Finally got someone in the USA and after 59 minutes on the phone , the final outcome being an offer for a new appointment for the following Tuesday with no guarantee that it would not be rescheduled. NO THANKS AT&T!!! Called Spectrum, spoke to someone in the USA and got an appointment for Saturday with no contract and 40 dollars cheaper and free HBO and Showtime for a year. read more

I would give it a ZERO if I could. While their services are good, their customer service is horrid. I was struggling through Covid season so I called in in order to cancel my service. The customer service guy seemed genuinely concerned and asked me if he could suspend it for six months. I told him that I didn't think I wanted it anymore. I certainly didn't want for it to be reset without my knowledge. He assured me that he would put in true notes to not start the account again without contacting me for authorization. I disconnected it and never used it again. Eight months later I get a $200 bill and now they have sent me to a collection agency. They took half off and said they gave me the benefit of the doubt. I asked them to go listen to the recorded call and they ignored my request and returned me to a collection agent. They are trying to ruin my credit because I believed what the agent told me. Where do I even start? -Promised us $200 in reward cards. Never got them. -Promised a certain price. First charge was $25 over that. -Called to fix the overcharge. After fixing the double charge, the 3 months of movie channels was canceled. -Every month thereafter our bill went up $20-$30. I called to get it changed.
