We're in the process of switching all our technology from Verizon back to AT&T. Even though we got fed up with their lousy customer service and had left them, not that long ago. Along comes something shiny that seems too good to be true. We'll never know. As a new subscriber, I'm entitled to a free self install/setup (which never works because there's usually a problem with the wiring). They also threw in some perks that appealed to me. We'll give them another chance. When I explained that I'll fix the wiring, been doing it for years, they told me it was far too complicated for me to do. She wouldn't let it go. Her tech can be out on Wednesday. Oh, and it will cost $100+. To do What? As nice as I could I explained that there was no need to do a truck roll, I will fix the physical problem if she could troubleshoot the technical stuff. I guess not. It came down to an ultimatum of either the technician comes out for free or we call the whole thing off. I guess this company needs every last nickel. They wouldn't budge. BTW, I easily repaired the issue with the wire and it would've been a win-win had customer service treated us the way they used to in the past. 9/30/2023 Where do I start... Eleven days ago I was ecstatic getting fiber... Install was not so great as there were complications and after the first few days slowness.. Also, I wasn't happy that the router was installed in the master but our pc's are in the front of the house.. Problems arose when trying to stream etc... Today's tech: David went above and beyond!!! He immediately required from outside to inside of the garage...very professional and clean lines.. The fiber that was installed through the crawlspace and on my flooring in the back of the house) created issues. David arrived around 3 pm and left around two and a half hours later.. Checked all the signals and made sure everything was up and running.. Excellent customer service! Thank you David for making one happy Att customer!! read more

Have had AT&T for over 3 years now and there have been ups and downs, but lately, the speed of their "giga-bit fiber" has been so slow that I would rather have the DSL I had 30 years ago. File downloads crash multiple times before I can get them, as an example, I downloaded BitDefender earlier today and I had to restart the download 3 different times to get my virus file updated. It was not that big of a download. Not sure why AT&T speeds are sucking so much these days, but if you have a choice, you might want to look elsewhere. read more

Had the silver package, took a two month trip and when I got back there were about 20 channels less? WTF? Called and was told they shuffled it and they gave me a lousy $10 credit. By far the WORST place to gain service through. You don't gain anything from them except a headache. Since day one I have been on the phone daily with them. I initially purchased the trio bundle, home phone, internet, and cable. Cable wasn't connected correctly as was unable to be watched so I was told they could get someone out to me was 12 days. I agreed, then the day they were supposed to come fix the issue I called to cancel, I now have $180.00 early cancellation fee, 2 separate installation fees, and now have to pay $150.00 for equipment charges. 3 months in, still won't fix any of the issues, waive the cancellation fee, waive the installation fees, on the phone with them daily. Service with them is by far the absolute worst. Now I understand why they have people that make free cable. Fuck AT&T!!! I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. read more

As a retired employee of AT&T I am entitled to a certain employee concession. I thought things were pretty good until my son checked my Internet speed and found it to be 24 Mbps. When you stop laughing I'll continue with my story. So I called AT&T and the best they can do for speed in my area is 75 Mbps. I've had service here for five years and I have had solicitations from every Internet company under the sun via email, small mail, on the phone, and in person. However, I've never received any notice of better options from AT&T. And of course I've been paying $12.50 more a month for crappy service because now that I've upgraded, and they only have 75MBPS available in my neighborhood which in and of itself should be a crime, I will be saving $12.50 a month on my bill. I'm all for a buyer beware but I'm also of the belief that when a company has something better to offer at a lower price they should be contacting you. Shame on AT&T, if I could give them zero stars I would. AT&T just did this to me. A new customer free setup self install that wouldn't work because their outside line was faulty. They sent a tech to fix their line and then charged me $99. I spent over 1.5 hours! with customer support trying to get the charge removed because I told I was eligible for free self install. They should not be charging me to fix their end. They are greasy robots and use unethical business practices. I've only had their internet service for two weeks and it's slow and sucks...I am cancelling service. I won't being paying their fees regardless of when they send me to collections. I will dispute it with the credit bureaus win or lose I don't care. they can suck it. AT&T is a prime example of the crap customer service that plagues us everywhere today. They don't care about your business at all. They are not worth the stress and aggravation. I went in to see if I would be better off switching back to AT&T. I greeted promptly and the agent started going over all the plans for me. I was so excited that my bill was going to be half the price of what I was paying for at Verizon. I got a new phone, iPad and I qualified for a free watch and my bill was going to be $75 a month. For the next several months my bill wasn't what I was told it would be but that was explained by everything that has to catch up. I received my bill in October and it was $156. I went into the store and the tech was trying to see what was happening on my bill and I called Customer Service. To my surprise, the plan that I was put on was a promotional plan and it was only good for three months. Not one person said anything about being a promo. I had spoken to the tech, a supervisor and the manager and. I went into the store and this tech was helping me, sort of, not once did he say anything about my plan being a promotional plan. I called the customer service again and there is nothing that they could do for me. So buyer beware don't fall for the plan that is a promotional plan unless you get it in writing from the manager. I just signed up for AT&T internet service here in Sparks and have had them push the activation date out twice already without communicating it to me. I work from home and having internet is an important part being able to do my work. The customer service was very poor and offered no explanation for not being able to make the activation date. It used to be that At&t was the best in the area (at least in my opinion) and charter was the worst. That has totally changed now! I actually used to have all my services (Cell phone, land line, internet) through At&t and after years and years of mostly bad tech support and customer service I have been changing over to Dish and Charter. I get it, things happen and the internet goes down or whatever, but the tech support is just impossible, and I've had several instances where the people I'm calling to help me are EXTREMELY RUDE to me and its just ridiculous. The worst thing is their verification process for even accessing your account to get tech support. They need a variety of information from you, and if you do paperless billing, that info is not available. They give you extremely unhelpful tips as to how to get this info like... log into your online account to find out the exact dollar amount you last paid us (hello! the internet is down! I can't do that!). Or log into your banks online account to find the exact amount of the money you paid us three months ago (hello again! internet does not work!) At that point they will recommend that I keep copies of my bank statements...... ok well thanks for the help, that might help me in three months when the internet goes down but not now. The only way I have found it possible to get a repair tech to come within 4 days to repair your phone or internet line is to repeatedly request to speak to a manager. And then at that point a manager might promise a repair tech will come out within 2 to 3 days. But even then it usually takes at least 2 days longer than that for them to come out. I guess they must deal with a lot of angry customers because they are just so incredibly mean to you on the phone. I've actually been yelled at by them. Then when you try to get their name to tell their supervisor what they just did to you, they give you some crazy generic name like "Kim" - well, I'm sure there are 500 fake Kims working at At&T so that doesn't do anything for me read more

No call no show! Had an appointment on Monday between 12 and 4, after they never showed we called and they told us the technician was "running behind and would be there by 5:20 PM." Again never showed! Called the next morning and the excuse they gave was that "our appointment had never been confirmed." told us we would have to set up another appointment for a week later! I have had AT&T U-verse for several years now, it started out really great. Fast service, many devices running at one time, customer service was great. Now that I am no longer on promotional pricing, service is sporadic, cable drops off all the time, extra charges, and messages saying U-verse signal has been lost every 3 minutes. I have had my equipment replaced but I am still having these issues. Devices are dropping off even though we have deleted everything off of the IP web address and started over. It is very frustrating and nobody seems to care but they certainly wants their money and will charge you late fees if you're late or protesting their lack of service. I would love to find an internet service provider that is reliable and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Very frustrating read more

Multi billion dollar corporation and they can't hire people from the us to work in their customer support, a multi billion dollar tech company and they can't design an app or webpage that will actually work or provide support to their customers, multi billion dollar company and they decide to scam people left and right by adding packages to your account without your authorization and then try to charge you for them, charge your bank account without your authorization in sums that are not your actual bill don't add up to your bill and try to tell you that you haven't paid your bill even after showing them your bank statements proving otherwise, I call their support centers and their employees give me fake confirmation numbers, refuse to transfer me to a supervisor, and fake solutions to attempt to get you off the phone, and then after dealing with all that you won't even be able to cancel your account without a hidden 450$ cancellation fee that their employees will lie to you about. Especially if you try to transfer your service and when you blatantly ask if you'll be pulled into a new contract their employees will again lie to you and say no but now trying to cancel you'll be roped into a new 600$ cancellation fee. Which you also can't transfer service to another person by the way you have to cancel and pay their fees and they will force anyone else to pay tons of fees up front to start a brand new service. This is an absolute sham of a company: shit service shit reception shit customer service and shit price. I am appalled. read more

The approach that I'm going to take with rating the telecom/internet/cable industry is going to be from the ground up. As an industry, they just seem to not really like their customers. All of these companies start at one star and work their way up from there. From the beginning of the business relationship, you are typically given the bait-and-switch - you know, you get your 1 year intro rate, then prices begin to rise significantly. Since that is the standard, a person shopping for internet/phone/cable service then knows that they need to find two prices to do comparison shopping: the intro rate, and the standard rate. The intro rate is easy to find, but you need to be Sherlock Holmes sometimes to find the standard rate - it's exhausting and annoying! Then, to get answers you typically have to go through a call center - yay! Some of these call centers are overseas, and some are in the US. Either way, they are time consuming to have to deal with. Okay, now you're signed into a contract with one of these companies. Well, the service usually rolls without a hitch, but let me relate an experience that I had with Clearwire/Sprint: the service was getting bad and I was experiencing outages. When I'd call for support, they'd hand me to online tech support that seems to work off a queue card and the typical problem that they'd lead you on to would be that if you were using your own router then according to them the problem was the third party router - this was the problem every time! I'd eventually have to suggest that they needed to reset my connection on their switch to resolve the issue - fixed the problem every time. One time the problem was bad and was not getting resolved no matter what they did. We kept going back and forth for a few weeks until my problem was finally escalated to someone that could check the coverage area - it turns out that Sprint/Clearwire was pulling out of my market area and failed to tell me! These companies are so annoying to deal with and not one of them seems to want to break the mold. So here we go for this company...AT&T From being quoted multiple prices from different sources (-1 star), to long call center calls with "Henry" that led to him finally telling me that the intro rate didn't apply to us (-2 stars), to them screwing up our POTS service order when they thought we wanted UVERSE (we didn't) (-1 star). This place is a piece of work. Total stars: -3 We did use them for POTS service. Wait, if you get POTS service and want their internet, they can't roll that up to one bill - you get two bills! I am writing this review from my phone because guess who right now doesn't have wifi ir a tv? This girl. I lost pay at work in order to wait for someone to reinstall my equipment since I moved houses. No one showed up or called me. I called up multiple uverse reps from local ones to general ones. Each told me more lies about how the rep before them had no business offering them the deal that was originally offered. After multiple phone calls first from a 2 week period then to a 1 day period I spoke to a Diana who is a local rep at the plumb ave store and then Chris at the same store. She never got back to me Chris said she allegedly was at a doctors appointment.... He then did the usual bs of how he cannot offer me the rate that low so he had to contact someone to see if he could. He called me up hours later offering me an okay deal. I stated I needed someone within 2 days . They said the earliest someone could come out was 5 days. I passed. Thanjs for wasting my time. U should be doing work right now on my laptop or watching a movie on my TV but I cannot because of the lovers who work for uverse. Whether they are local, general reps, or installars they all suck and will fuck you over. I'm going with charter now which isn't much better but at least they can accommodate my time. Uverse should pay me for the loss of pay I have due to them being no shows. I will never return to uverse EDIT Got a deal for $140 before tax that Uverse will probably fuck up. UB300 plan with HD for 3 TVs, 3 Dvrs, a phone line, and 18 speed wifi. With this I'm supposed to get a $100 credit and a free TV. I called on a Thursday to confirm that they will show up Saturday. I was the 9-11 time slight and they said I was their 1st appointment. It's now 10:30 and no one came. Eventually the installer called and said that when I confirmed they listed me as changed to 1-3 and to come as late as possible These were not Indian people I spoke to. I was furious. The installer came and said none of my shows transferred over because the agent over the (1 of 239820932 I spoke to) phone put me as a new order instead of a transferred order. Wow. I read the other 3 reviews and cannot agree more! Really Yelp, there needs to be negative star ratings for horrible businesses such as AT&T. To be brief I moved and wanted to move my services with us. Called July 2nd. Everything was set up for me to have everything transferred on August 7th. After I don't know how many calls and at least ...not kidding...at a minimum 50 hours plus of phone calls to various AT&T reps, technicians etc still no services. Had at least 10 appts scheduled only for AT&T to call and CANCEL the appts by calling the home phone which is disconnected by AT&T because they never transferred the service!! So some idiot would leave a message on a phone I can't answer telling us it is a "facilities issue" and will be repaired by 8/14, 8/17, 8/18, 8/20, 8/21, 8/24, and then finally on 8/25!!! After speaking to numerous people who apparently cannot read notes placed on our account we finally go to the local AT&T store to see if we can get anywhere with a live human being that speaks English as a first language!! In the mean time I was contacted by multiple random AT&T employees asking me how they can get me back as a customer since I'm no longer a customer and my favorite call so far how I'm liking my newly installed services!!!! Yes, really NOT KIDDING!! I'm like are u ******** kidding me?!!! For real??? Don't have service because facilities issue or whatever the hell wasn't fixed yet. Then finally last week spoke to a local employee that told me everything was good to go and we had a tech appt scheduled for today 8/25 between 1-3 pm. Well what do u think happened??? No show. No call. Nothing. Just more bs. Called local AT&T store and spoke with manager who said she was putting in an "emergency order" and a tech will be at our home by 8 pm. I'm like what?!!! I had an appt!! Waited all day. It's now 7:15 and still waiting. I'm not holding my breath. Furious. For how much we pay for these services you would THINK there would be employees that 1) CAN READ NOTES and 2) actually have good customer service and show up for SCHEDULED appointments!!! Apparently only AT&T employee time is valuable. The customer is clearly not #1 or even #100 for that matter!! Seriously - I thought I was on Candid Camera it's been so ridiculous!! Update: no one showed for the "emergency order" last night and surprise no one showed up for the again "scheduled" appt for today between 11-1! So again sit and wait around for people to install our services that we packed with us, dvr's, remotes etc when no one shows! Between my husband and I today calling AT&T and speaking to 5 different people there's still a "facilities issue" that won't be fixed until.......wait for it....,this Friday 8/28!!! Right!!! Ok!! I believe that one for sure! Truly unbelievable. Probably have a better chance at winning the lottery without a ticket than getting anyone at AT&T to tell u what's going on and when an actual tech will be out. When I called Uverse I was told they could lower my bill to $60.00 a month if I stayed a customer. Why didn't they offer me that when I called three times to get it lowered? I've grown used to terrible service from cable companies, but AT&T has set a new low. Recently, they notified me that they were dropping DSL service in my area and I would have to switch to uverse. Okay so far. I scheduled the work for Monday, when we would be at our vacation rental. They successfully removed the DSL service on Monday, but never showed up for their appointment to install uverse. I called them and was placed on hold FOR ONE HOUR while they tried to figure out what happened. They finally scheduled to arrive on Wednesday before noon. The guy finally showed up at 1pm, then disappeared again for half an hour before actually installing the modem. Wait... it's not over yet. The installer had an app for me to enter my billing info. I entered my e-mail and street address. They started sending bills to the previous owner's dead e-mail address from two years ago. I never got a bill. I finally called them about this and they wanted to charge me a late fee for not paying on time. read more

Service here is more consistent than that other provider. Speeds aren't as fast but my house does take advantage of their 45mb speed. What they don't tell you here though is when you sign up, they quote you one price but when you get your bill, it's riddled with nickel and dimes. When my discount promotion passed a year, I got and outrageous bill for more than I could afford and I spoke to several people but finally spoke to the retention office and negotiated a new bill. They were happy to accommodate me and I got rid of a few services that I rarely used. Just talk nicely to them and see if they can come up with another promotion that you can afford. All cable and Internet carriers do this... A limited time offer just to get you into their company and then when your promotion ends you're stuck with a bigger bill and you just have to renegotiate. I didn't even have to call other companies as I told the agent I might have to. It wasn't a threat, just a matter of fact. read more

After 15 minutes of being transferred around the gal with a heavy accent tells me to go to my local AT&T store to order a remote. I go to the store and the manager tells me they can't order one. This has been the worst customer service I have ever received. Found out my association would not accept dishes for direct tv. Called the first place to cancel, it took about 30 minutes no big deal, but since I bundeled it with direct tv I had to call them. The problems just began. So call direct tv they told me they would give me another product which was reasonable, but did not cancel my service. I called back ATT and was sent through a ton of representitives who said they could not help and they transfered me. I was disconected a total of two times, and transfered a total of 4. I ordered U-verse internet service October 22. I had a scheduled install date for October 27. That got canceled and moved to November 7. They did not show up for the install today and now want to move the installation out another week. They cannot tell me why they did not show up for the scheduled install. Yes I am late paying my bill, so I go to pay it today and even though they have suspended our service and we have had no access to our TV, WIFI or home phones they are charging us full price while the u verse account has been turned off!
