It sounded far-fetched, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. 10/24 - As anticipated, no response. Called again and spoke with Sierra who again, was of no use. I asked to AGAIN speak with a supervisor. After waiting for 1 hour 27 minutes (stupid me) with her coming back on the line every so often to assure me that the supervisor was coming, she disconnected the call. I guess that was her way of letting me know that a supervisor wouldn't be coming after all. Right back at you AT&T/DirectTV. SLOWEST internet I have experienced in 15 years...slower than dial-up and their Direct TV service is nothing but local channels and info commercials -- anything good that you want to watch is an extra charge over & over again. When I decided to quit them because they did not/could not provide the product I was lead to believe I would receive, I was hit with a huge cancellation charge of over $310! Based on my personal experience, if you try ATT for their special? triple play or bundled phone, internet, and TV, you will be very unhappy and face large cancellation fees! read more

Unquestionably the WORST provider I have ever experienced or heard of! They were quick to sell me a set of bundled services, but when I found out (not from AT&T, BTW) four days later that I would have a satellite dish put on my house, I called to cancel. It was worse than a root canal to cancel - two people (one of which sounded like she was calling from a bathroom) and over 30 minutes later I was finally able to extract a cancellation. Both demanded an explanation - really? - so the second person I told there was no legal requirement for me to provide an explanation (which is true). I don't care how bad the rest of the internet providers are out there (Comcast, Speculum, etc...), nothing compares to the terrible experience I've had with AT&T. read more

Used to have spectrum for our cable provider and was looking to switch for a lower monthly bill. AT&T was very helpful getting everything setup except for the installation. Guy came out late at night and insisted to put it all together, which at first was not a big deal, the morning of we had found out that the installed our dish not on the roof like they had mentioned but on the side of our house by the front entrance were we have neighbors that play basketball. Called to have them re locate the dish and it has now been 3 weeks since and both changed. Customer service is awful and now stuck in a contract with them for two years read more

I cannot believe how bad the service was from AT&T in the past 24 hours. So bad, I left them as a customer after 4+ years. I just bought a house and requested the service change from our prior home to the new house and was told we had to wait 2 before we could have a tech out to complete the service. They were to arrive between noon and 4 on 6/30. At 3:40 my wife received a text staying they would not make it by 4 (she took time off from work yo be home for this by the way). By 6:45 my wife called customer service and was then told the tech was not coming out and that he was done for the evening. When she requested to speak to a supervisor or manger she was told someone would call us shortly but after an hour we called back again to find that customer service was closed. When we called in the morning to speak to a manager and voice our complaint we received more excuses and explanations that we could not get a tech out until the 10th. We called Spectrum and were able to get everything set up (We were just getting internet service) today. Including a tech stopping by to ensure the connections were the most updated. STAY AWAY FROM AT&T. I WOULD GIVE 0 STARS IF I COULD! read more

Worst company to deal with, no one knows what they are doing when you call in, Their reps are not trained well and you get a different answer every time, try leaving them and they bad mouth the competition and lie, then try to return the direct TV equipment and they dont send return labels just advertising to not disconnect from them, Nothing but a headache dealing with AT&T from start to finish UPDATE. Service was highly spotty. Was told I could get a 12 Mbps connection but when that proved to go on/off all the time they said they would have to drop it to 6mbps. Said "there is nothing we can do about it except slow your connection." I live in DePere .25 miles from highway 41, not way out in the country. Avoid this provider. read more

Here is my story of your service: I go online to order your service for my apartment, since my apartment only allows me to use you. I spend a half hour dealing with a poorly put together website that is taking my information and timing out between screens causing frustration in what should be an easy process. After I finally get to the place order screen after my card information has been taken I receive a message stating "Cannot complete order online. Please call the number listed." I call this number and am prompted with "Please wait for next available representative" I wait another half hour and still on hold. I go online to the chat with representative and inform them I am unable to complete the order online can they complete it. I am told "Please call the number listed" I tell them I am on hold waiting for a representative. "Our representatives are only available from 8am to 5pm and it is 6:30pm. Nowhere is this clearly stated. Begin headache number 2: I call the next day and tell the representative I completed everything for the order online and just needed to call to finish the actual order. Representative cannot find my order. It takes another hour to complete all the information I just filled in the day before. Final service and price quoted: roughly $80/month for 24mbps internet and direct tv. This is more than I want but fine, I accept. Install day: Installation representative arrives. Apartment does not allow Direct TV satellite(ok this is apartment policy whatever). Spend another 20 minutes on phone with representative to figure out price. New Service and bill quote: 24 mbps internet no TV for $48 per month plus $5 install fee, I accept. Month later: I view my bill and it comes to $189.67, roughly $135 more than original quote. Contact representative online. Representative is "sorry for the inconvenience". "We will give you the new customer discount of $17 per month and half off install fee. Not entirely sure how I am supposed to be thankful for this when it is still much more than the original quote. A few hours late I view the bill online again. $50 "discount" for install fee is applied as representative said, but the $17 new customer "discount" is still not applied. Contact another representative. "Sorry for the inconvenience. I will apply the discount." Ten minutes later discount is finally applied. To summarize: I have never in my life experienced dealing with a company that treats its customers like this. How can a company pretend to have good customer service while misquoting prices and give customers the run around when they attempt to fix the companies mistakes. I will be posting this story to anywhere I can as it is the only defense that customers have really against shady business practices of these monopolistic companies. I hope that these standards AT&T has set for their service do not continue this way and will look to any other service I can to avoid dealing with them. read more

Then we went to cancel it and they told us we're under a contract and we have to pay the fee to cancel it.
