I got a tattoo last year in December 2021, it was my first one and I feel like I couldn't have chosen a better place. Voodoo Vons tattoo shop is beautiful and spooky the moment you walk in. She was patient with me, making sure I liked the size and placement of my tattoo. She provided snacks and numbing cream making sure I was comfortable through out the process. I also believe here tattoo prices are very reasonable (enough for a college student to afford ). Lastly, I enjoyed her and her partner's personalities we shared some laughs.

A pretty amazing tattoo shop tucked away in downtown willow glen. It's located in a small business nook right in downtown willow glen upstairs from a restaurant and barber shop. All the artists there are extremely talented, but von is an incredible artist and tattooer. Her artwork is insane, and I could sense just how serious she was about her craft. My tattoo is so sick - you won't be disappointed! She did custom artwork for me based on an idea I had, and the design was so good. I get compliments daily.

I was indeed impressed by the professionalism and attitude of the artists. The place was very neat, hygienic and the vibes are spooky. I've been getting tattooed by the owner herself Ale for the past three years. Overall I've let her stab me seven times, my eighth will be this upcoming Friday (I have over twelve). We go over the length, placement and any suggestions / comments / concerns before placing the stencil, once it's on I take a look at it and confirm that it's a solid place. She's always made me feel welcomed, heard and comfortable. The shop itself has snacks and water to keep one hydrated and fed for those who aren't able to withstand long hours of any tattoo process. If you're getting your first tattoo or eighth, place your trust at this shop. I've placed photographs to show the after / healed work.

Update: There is nobody else in the area that does it like this shop. Every time I go, I get a new best piece ever. This studio's attention to detail, tattoo practices, skill, and experience make me feel comfortable and taken care of. I know I'm in good hands anytime I get the chance to come in. Thank you Von for the amazing artwork, talent, and patience

I got my tattoo with an apprentice there which was my mistake, especially since it was my first tattoo. I do put some of the fault on myself for that because of that. That being said, I let them know it was my first tattoo and he didn't walk me through the process well before I made the deposit. A few days later I ended up changing my mind on the sketch he drew in front of me (which took him less than 5 mins to draw) and I asked for another consultation. He sent me another sketch with some more of my notes in mind instead. When I went to the studio for my appointment (a week after the consult) he immediately started getting ready to tattoo me without talking to me first- it felt very pressuring and rushed for me. When he was done I told him that I'd get a tattoo from his flash sheet on Instagram instead since I wasn't 100% happy with the sketch yet. The price was $100 more and he didn't tell me the price increase until I was already getting tattooed and only because I asked. The tattoo was blurry even right after healing. It's spotty and I've even had people ask if my wrist one was a stick and poke. I paid $250 for both which when talking to other people I found was incredibly high especially for an apprentice. The owner did say she'd fix it for free which was very nice, but she was very booked up unfortunately. I wanted a consultation on how she planned on fixing it but it was hard to get time in. She was really busy so it would take her incredibly long to get back to my messages and reply to me which is understandable, but even when she did it would be half replies to some of my questions and not all which was really frustrating. She did stay professional and sincere even after I decided I no longer wanted my tattoo fixed by her anymore and I appreciated that that she tried. I'm giving them a star for trying to fix it and for free, but it was hard to work with them for me, and as someone who was new to this and a little shy I feel as if their communication isn't ideal. The tattoos themselves turned out poorly. Two pics were around a month and a half after getting the tattoo and the third pic is almost a year after.

The best place in San Jose to get some beautiful artwork. Been there twice for two different pieces and I love them both.

Spent the day without any fuss. Just my hub taking me back to this lovely tattoo shop he found for…read moreme 5 years ago (FYI: They moved from 25th to 41st at a much bigger & easier to find location). This amazingly talented artist, Airu (@honeybeetattoo_airu) doesn't usually do touch-ups or add color (after so many years later). But considering we went to her to mark the year my healing began, it was extremely important to go back to her to commemorate what I was celebrating that day - the official end to my breast cancer journey. Airu is the first and only female artist that tatted me. She is kind, friendly, meticulous, and clean. When she heard about the reason for doing this, she made the exception to make it happen. What a gift! And we're forever grateful! When it fully heals, it will be even more fantastic than it was back then. A lil' more lively with a hint of color. Just like me. Thank you, Airu. #tattoo #cancersurvivor

I sent her pictures of what I wanted and she designed from those. I absolutely LOVE the way she does flowers. I feel she gave me wonderful informed consent about her process and fine line tattoos. She doubled and triple checked that I was happy with each step of the way. At the end, when I saw my tattoo, I cried happy tears, it was just perfectly what I wanted and it was so meaningful to me. Her studio is clean and comfortable, exactly what you want when getting a tattoo. Thank you, Airu!
