Caution - Service sucked. I took my step sister there for happy hour and found out all the $8 drinks are premade, and extra sugar gives me a headache. We wanted to try Astra because it is a rooftop restaurant and lounge with a nice view and offers Mediterranean food with an emphasis on Greek food. The teak wood bar is uncovered but they do offer the use of their umbrellas if it rains. The dining area is covered. You can lounge on overstuffed comfy sofas as you enjoy music nightly from a host of DJs and live bands and take in the 360-degree sweeping views of Wynwood and Miami. It is a really cool place and we will return. As you take the elevator up and enter Astra, the bar is straight ahead and the dining area is on the right. The friendly hostess will guide you. We already had dinner so we thought we would have a drink here and enjoy the rooftop experience. Our bartender was very nice and helpful. We each ordered the La Paloma, a Don Julio Blanco tequila with lime juice and soda. It was refreshing. They have a great selection of drinks and were happy to accommodate a drink to your specifications. We had a really good time there. There is street parking. Came here for brunch and never coming back... Starting off with the service: POOR. It was slow, the servers were rude and lost, and the restaurant wasnt even packed. Food took 30 minutes to come out. Saw them preparing the bottomless Mimosas, it was a 85/15 ratio of juice to champagne. And the juice had so much pulp it wouldnt leave the jar cause the hole was clogged. The Brunch menu has pretty affordable plates but I guess you get what you pay for. The "Mama's Meatballs" are legit two sad meatballs with tortillas, the "Kabobs" were a singular kabob of the meat choice you ordered. Even the sliders (two btw) were the size of a toddler's fist. I had the Astra burger from their regular menu and it was... okay. Someone in our table had the Crab Benedict and it still had the egg shells in it. YUCK! We were charged for a dish that never came after specifically telling the waiter to cancel it (it was taking too long, we had already finished while the person was STILL waiting for their food) Dont get fooled by the "Rooftop views" they claim to offer. Yea you get a real good view of the empty lots and construction next door. I would honestly skip this place at all costs. Came here for a night out. My bartender was very nice and easygoing when i ordered a mocktail (he even made it really pretty). The skyline view is stunning. I'm just going to list everything that went wrong. -Our reservation was at 12. In the photo attached you can see we received our appetizer at 1:22 -Kept being told we had a 2 hour limit even though our food took over an hour to arrive and they kept us sitting there 4 hours -Never made it clear on the website or booking site that there was a pre fixed menu. You would think they would have it together if there was such a small and limited menu. -Reservation was at 12 and we left at 3:50 -Waited an hour for main course after appetizers (photos with time stamps attached) -Had to get up and grab a water pitcher from the server station to fill our own waters because it was 91 degrees in Miami and we were very thirsty -Server took forever to take our orders and never asked if we needed another round of drinks or more water -Filet minion was well done after we asked for them medium rare and came sitting on 2 sticks of asparagus - no other sides -We even asked for dessert to go because we had already been there almost 4 hours, and the order was wrong. I was looking forward to the creme brûlée and that was the one dessert we did not receive -Witnessed the manager telling another customer who had been waiting to "retírese" -Also how does a place serve brunch but no coffee? We were offered an espresso martini but there was no coffee... It's insane because I work in the restaurant industry and I know how it is but this place didn't even look that crowded and the horrific service we got was unacceptable. I wanted to make this a nice and positive experience for Mother's Day but it turned into a nightmare. Just one thing after the other. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt more chaotic than lively -- loud music, bright lights, and a layout that made it hard to relax or even have a conversation. It was overstimulating in all the wrong ways. To make matters worse, the service was noticeably poor. Staff seemed disorganized and inattentive, with long waits for basic things like menus, drinks, and even the check. It got to the point that right after we paid for the bill is when we got our waters and a light lamp to look at the menu. On top of that with such bad service, service charge was included at an extremely high amount for no reason. At a place with such a high-end vibe and pricing, I expected better hospitality. Always love a good roof top bar and this one is so nice. If you want to take cute aesthetic Instagram pictures check this place out. We went really early one day when they first opened just to check it out and we would really like to try the food and check out the night life. The food and the inspo of this place is Greek and they have a nice selection on the menu. One really unique thing about this place is that they have a photographer that comes around and takes pictures of each table and they come back with the frames with the pictures printed out. We made a reservation for Astra through OpenTable, and it was a super easy process. When we arrived, the greeter downstairs checked us in and directed us to the elevator that took us up to the third floor. The rooftop seating was beautiful with amazing views, good music, and a great overall vibe. The service was on point. Staff checked on us multiple times and made sure we were good throughout. I also appreciated the all-gender bathrooms, which were clean and attended by a friendly woman who handed out paper towels, a nice touch. We ordered the saganaki, and it was a highlight. The guy came out and torched it tableside, which added some flair, and it tasted just as good as it looked. Cheesy, crispy, and rich. The only reason I'm taking off a star is due to a weird moment with a guy seemed like a contractor or vendor working with the restaurant who asked to take our photo. We thought it was for the restaurant's social media or just a fun guest experience, but he later came back with our photo in a frame trying to sell it to us. It felt like a bit of a bait-and-switch since he wasn't upfront about it being for sale. Other than that, it was a great night out. I'd definitely recommend Astra for the views, ambiance, and food. I had a great time at Astra the other night with some friends. We took advantage of some of their food and drink specials while partaking and soaking in the views. The first thing I must say though is that I am a huge fan of the décor and construction of this establishment. When you walk in you can see painted butterflies on the walls and a window from the 3rd floor bar lobby that shows a mini-view of the nearby Wynwood area. While I thought Astra was a bit higher up I was still amazed at the great views of the city in the distance (it was a bit after sunset) and the way everything was organized. The tables were a comfortable distance form one another and there were sp many places to sit! I can't imagine the restaurant ever gets full but a perfect spot for both energetic/lively and intimate settings We ordered pure lychee juice, a virgin mojito and a bottle of sparkling water for drinks; the meatballs and calamari for the drinks. I wish the classes wouldn't have been plastic because it slightly dimmed such a regal setting. The drinks were good as well but I was a tad surprised they were $10 each when there wasnt a lick of alcohol. The food was scrumptious with the meatballs being served in a row of four with arugula and pitas and the calamari was really good too being lightly fried and served with a lite tzaziki. The service was alright but what blew me away the most was, once again, the views and layout of the restaurant. The bar is placed in the middle of the roof enclosed in a gazebo and there is a DJ station around the corner with a plethora of plants and huge trees that really gives that Miami vibe we strive for living down here. I came here during sunset happy hour for a friend's birthday. The view and the ambiance of the roof top is really nice, its worth stopping by for a cold drink if you're getting heat exhaustion from walking around Wynwood. We sat at the bar (which is necessary to take advantage of the HH prices) and I ordered the raspberry mule and half a dozen oysters. The drink was good! But they did not give me a small fork (or any utensil) for the oysters, which is pretty customary. I asked the bartender for a small fork, and she seemed very confused by the request. After 5 minutes of waiting for her to come back, she brought me a small spoon and said that was all she could find. For a restaurant that serves oysters, I thought this was pretty weird.
