Boy did I dodge a bu!!et with this company! I had called to sign up with Astound for internet service! Not only are they unorganized and unprofessional but also rude!!! 1st agent I spoke with kept stating they could send any one to install my internet because it was almost 5pm and there are no service agent after 5pm, I got tired of telling her that it was 2:30pm where I live! It was almost 4pm when she finally understood and by then she really couldn't schedule anyone. I had to schedule for the next day and requested a call before heading to my location. No one ever called nor went home (I had someone stayed home so I wouldn't miss them) When I called customer service to inquire, the lady said someone did go and no one was there, I asked why no one called me then, she said they did called ONCE when they arrived at the address but they got "a beeping signal" and she kept getting louder and louder every time I told her I knew no one showed up and that they were supposed to call me BEFORE going to my address. She wanted to schedule me again for another day.....I told her "HECK NO" if that's how their customer service is, I would rather not be with them at all! I had to tell her repeatedly to cancel my order! ZERO STARS!!! read more

Astoundingly HORRIBLE internet service, the absolute worst I have ever had, hands down. I see a lot of people talking about the outages, which do definitely happen on a regular basis, but the real issue is the internet speed and their prices. I paid for 1Gb internet speed. My Grande/Astound internet speed never topped out at more than 40Mbps. That's 4% of what I paid for! The only reason I didn't immediately cancel my service was because I lived in an apartment where my only option was Grande/Astound. I even bought one of the absolute best modem/routers you can buy, and I bought a signal extender too. Still, 40Mbps max. Not only that, but my bill went up 3 times! And without so much as an email notification telling me it was going up. By the end, I was paying $120.00 a month for 40Mbps. Highway. Robbery. When I moved, I got AT&T fiber which literally tops out at 1300Mbps. that is 32 TIMES FASTER than Astound, and for only $86 a month. If the apartment you're looking at only allows you to use Grande/Astound, don't even bother moving there. read more

This is the absolute worst internet service provider I have ever used. Internet goes down two times a week, for hours, guaranteed. Friday is a scheduled must downtime. Now, don't get me wrong, it's not unheard of to have internet outage for 3 or 4 days out of the week. I have the most up to date equipment. They get paid a monthly fee for not providing any service. I really do not understand why they can't get it together. Imagine turning on your tap and 2 days out of the week, you get no water. This is their service. Truly awful. Worst cable company I ever used. First you have to pay money every month for cable but if you want to use that cable you have to pay additional fees to even use the cable your paying for because you have to have a digital box. Next I was told there wouldn't be a charge for taking 1 digital box and putting in my other room and yet there was a $55 charge for it anyways. Grande is a joke and I will never use them again. Edited to add that contacted Grande before I made this whole post and they said there was nothing they could do about it but I could start to pay $5 a month for their "insurance." It's about as bad as you can get. The apps - HBO Go, YouTube, Netflix - they rarely work smoothly, and sometimes don't work at all. I gave up watching YouTube as it cannot play a video on TV without freezing about every minute. Movies and other shows do the same thing, though not as frequently, so it's a crapshoot. I complained to Grande, and was informed the apps don't work well with TiVo, that they've alerted TiVo about the issue, etc. So no fixing this. My apartment has a contract with Grande, so I'm stuck with it until I move. Plus, it's pretty $$$ in Midland. I pay more here than Houston where I had Xfinity and about 3x the services, which all worked perfectly. Do yourself a favor and choose anything but Grande for your communication needs. read more

Some other reviewers complain about the price of Grande cable. I will say that I called to reduce my service because the price had become more than I really wanted to pay. I called them and the representative was able to reduce my bill by $100. He didn't need to do that but he did and I appreciate it. I also asked him about faster internet. He told me the truth about what I needed based upon how I used the internet and didn't try to up sell me. I also appreciate that. read more

Don't waste your time! I was told Grande was an excellent network, but listen close... ****THE NETWORK HAS A SHORTAGE EVERY SINGLE WEEKDAY AFTER LUNCH IN MIDLAND TEXAS.**** And to further aggregate the matter, when you call the auto message says, "We know there is an issue, our engineers are working on it." This happens every week day for at least TWO HOURS sometime between noon and four pm. And for those of us who are at home (especially those of us who work from home and NEED the Internet on a daily basis) this is infuriating! And don't hope it stops there, the shortage effects your entire bundle. No TV, no Internet, just daily unreliability. Also, the customer service techs are terrible. They sent the same guy out here twice for him to mess up our service. When he left, our wifi wasn't working. The follow-up tech said she was frustrated that they kept messing things up. And he did it AGAIN! He messed up our cable and wifi TWICE. I'm fed up with this company. Use something reliable and don't waste your money. read more

Customer service is very slow. Been on the phone for 2+ hours and still have not resolved the issue. Everyone I call they have to reset the modem then they hang up. Now the wait for an agent is over an hour. Suddenlink is looking better and better. read more

This is an addition to my earlier rant. I contacted Grande about 0930 this AM and after explaining the problem they issued a work order to have the wire picked up. Just now the field supervisor and 2 technicians were at my house and collected the wire. The supervisor indicated that the original technician would be coached. Extremely poor customer service and communication. Many hours on hold, wasted vacation days from work with no tech showing up, and construction halted on our house because of over a weeks worth of poor communication on Grandes part. If possible, find another internet and cable provider. read more

I came back to update my post. Grande does have pretty great customer service (but your bill will still climb!) I posted here about how slow our internet speeds were, and was contacted promptly by a manager at Grande. He suggested bypassing the router and checking the speed again, and indeed, the problem was with my old router, not Grande. Speed is doubled now, just wish I had done this sooner! Five stars for customer service. As for billing, the promotional prices are only for new customers. If you have been loyal to them for years, they will raise your bill periodically. You have to contact them and search around for a better price. After posting about it here on Yelp, a Grande rep was happy to help me get a price that was $6 less per month, and doubled my internet speed. Very happy now! read more

I moved from Spectrum to Grande due to a phone call from Grande offering packages, advised they got my number because I used my phone to look up info. I was quoted a special deal: 600mb/250ch/3boxes for $74.32 which was the price for the 300mb package, this was around 1/7/2019. I called after my first payment to verify my package and price 1/17/2019, again the Customer Service rep said it was $74.32 and I went over taxes with her to ensure the monthly total, all seemed correct. Well, today I called to cancel a movie, I hit SD vice HD. I listened to the account info and it said I owed just over $170. I talked with a Customer Service rep and advised him I went over my plan/bill with 2 different reps and my bill was never to be, on a normal month, $151. They said it was taxes, I asked how is my monthly charge plus taxes DOUBLE what I was quoted twice, No Real Answer... I then talked to the Call center Supv, she said my bill is $151 a month..lowest she could get me was $130 a month. A $74.32 a month quote, in any situation, is NOT $151 a month. Such a disappointment to a new customer... Tell you what you want to hear to get you in then double your quoted price.... I should have just stayed with Spectrum...and just might if this is not resolved, I escalated the call, will see if Corp calls me back... My television service has been bad for a couple of weeks with channels not coming in. I emailed them my issues after sitting on hold forever. They responded that they had not received a service call from me in the past. I told them to take my email as that request. Nothing was done. I called again on Thursday evenjng with the same issue. The lady I spoke with was nice but could nkt solve my issue. She set up a service call for today between 1pm and 3pm. We received a call at 1:20pm stating they were on their way. It is now past 5:30pm and nobody has arrived. If there was a better service out here, I would go with that. Grande is not good. read more

If I can give grande a 0 I would. If you live in midland, TX. DO NOT even waste your money on this piece of crap Internet service. When you live out in the boonies, it's hard to get service. So when we heard that one of the "best" services--Grande was going to be available in our neighborhood, we were pretty stoke. The first two month was slow, but they told us they were still working on it. We were being patient and dealt with it. We probably had one month of no problem, although the Internet speed was just decent... For the last 4 months it's been ridiculously slow or not even working. We called them, so 4 different staffs came out a couple times a month to "fix" it, and they said the cable was down in the whole neighborhood and they would fix it asap. It then started working OKAY, and just last month it slowed down again where the homepage would not even load. We called for someone else to come out to see what was wrong with it, he didn't know why so he brought us a new modem and said that should fix it. What do you know, it's not working at all right now, even when it shows that the Internet is connected... So now another staff will be coming out to "fix" it. After this, I will be telling my fiancé to cancel this piece of SHIT company!! So to save ya'll from this hassle, Grande is not even worth your money or time! *sigh read more

Yet again another outage. I really like their customer service and for that it gets a five star, however it doesn't make up for the fact that they're internet is down literally all the time. Unfortunately no other provider is offered in Midland, TX at all locations. AT&T is very select on where they provide service. So far so good i just switched to GRANDE from sucklink. They tried to give me the shaft when I moved charging me an installation fee and a moving fee that I wasn't aware of. Not too mention their high as a cats a**. I'm pleased with grande so far and they installed new line so they could put the router where I wanted unlike sucklink who lied and said they couldn't cross dish satellite lines. Because their too lazy to install it right and put the router in my daughters room instead of the living room where I wanted. read more

If there was a zero or negative numbers I would. I changed from them to Spectrum and had paid my bill ahead of time. When I turned in my boxes I was told that I had a small refund coming. I did not get one so I called the customer service center after I received a bill charging me for $65 of phone calls that were done when I was a bundled customer. None of the customer service reps have ever seen that ever happen. So not only were they keeping my $41 refund...............they now had the audacity to try to charge me $21 more. I have been on the phone 4 times now with them trying to get the $41 owed to me. They put me on hold for long periods of time to come back on and tell me "they are looking at it". Each time, every rep only says that they have "wiped" the balance (I don't owe $65) and we can call it even. I spend alot of time trying to do math with them...."I had a credit of $41....your bill was wiped because it was bogus....should still have a credit of $41. If you don't want Spectrum or Time Warner.....stick with Direct TV or Dish Network.....Grande keeps raising the bill and always has outages. My bills are never sent on time or not at all, so every month I have to pay the $11 late fee. Frequent outages to connect with WiFi. I only gave one star because I had to. Stay as far away from this company as you can. If it was possible to give this company negative stars I would. I've had service for over 2+ years now. Ever since they introduced 400Mbps into our market. The very last technician at my house before I cancelled service said "It is downright criminal how they've wired your house." I've had issues with my service since it was installed. Have somewhere near 50+ service calls out to my house to correct the issue, 4 of those were just this week. None have ever resolved it. They will quickly blame your modem if you own it and equipment if you don't. I replaced my modem each time they blamed it and received the same T3/T4 timeouts on my service. I am running an Untangle server on an R610 with a 10G WAN PCIE card... not a chance its my equipment. Your Telephone, Internet, and TeleVision will be DOWN more than up if you choose this company. They only offered me credits for my absurd amount of service calls/issues AFTER I cancelled my service. Flat out they don't respect you as a customer and shouldn't be allowed to continue their business until they correct all the issues they have internally. Need a service call? Expect the window they give you to be between 8AM and 9PM. Where a technician is suppose to call you an hour before arriving. Except if the technician doesn't want to do the job they've been assigned don't expect them to show up! They will lie and say they called you/tagged your door. They will say they left voicemails as well at the numbers they called. None of which is true. We had 4 adults over the age of 18 at ALL times during our service window. Yet somehow their tech claims to have rang the doorbell without anyone noticing(Or all the DOGS going off) 3 times in one day. TLDR: A fool and his money are easily parted. Best company at talking and worst at doing. Stood up on three appointments. I'm paying for their 1000mbs service and and since the start have not done better then 20mbs. Most of the time when not cutting out it will run at 3-5 mbs. Of course they will get some one out between 5-7 but by 9:30 still no show. Sorry we will reschedule and again no show. They lie and they will raise your bill with no notification and no explanation. I've been with grande for about 3 years and have been battling over my internet speeds I pay for 400 mbp/s internet and can't hardly reach 100 consistently it will go from about 130 to 50 to 80 then to not downloading at all I'm currently sitting at 30 mbp/s I just got off the phone with customer support (after dealing with the annoying automated service they added) we reset my modem and it worked for about a solid 2 minutes then dropped back down. Now they want to send a tech out here but I've been down that road too many times. I may try to swap out my modem again and see if that helps but not too sure if it will. If grande would stay true to their internet speeds I would have no complaints at all but it fluctuates way too often even having my console connected with the Ethernet cable still have poor download speeds I don't want to switch companies but I feel if this don't get fixed soon I may be looking around. read more
