Over two weeks ago, I drove along Highway 401 to get to my workplace. I tend to park my car there…read morewhenever I am flying out of Pearson International Airport. While driving along the 401, a heard a stone hit my windshield. It was loud. It didn't sound good. I had a stone chip by the lower part of my windshield, just above the wiper. I would say that ten minutes later, I had a three-inch crack extend from the chip's origin. It was definitely not a good situation to be in. Anyway, I called a taxi, talked to the owner of Treats at my workplace, got into the taxi with my luggage, and headed to the airport. While having lunch there, I called my insurance to determine whether this damage was covered. It was. Yay! I came back two weeks later from my vacation. The following day, I did a search on Yelp and found Apple Auto Glass. I spoke with Tim, who was helpful and friendly. He suggested that I drive my car over so he could take a look at the damage. As expected, he determined that the entire windshield needed to be replaced. He offered to call in the claim on my behalf. That was great. However, my insurance company was giving me some grief with the claim itself, so I had to do it. Tim called back and indicated that he needed to get the deductible from me. I have been fighting bronchitis and didn't want to drive over to do the payment in-person. He was perfectly understanding and took my credit card information over the phone. Things have not gone smoothly for me as of late. Tim's transaction was rejected. My credit card company classifies purchases. This auto transaction had a limit. I had to ask Tim to do a few transactions in smaller amounts instead of the one that you would typically do. He was so patient and great. All went well and he ordered the part. The new windshield came in two days later, which was faster than the three days that he had quoted me originally. He said that I could bring the car in immediately and it would be done in two hours. He also had a shuttle service, which I took advantage of. I was sick and wanted to rest at home. Ricky drove me to and from my home. I was pleased! Just over two hours later, I got a call from Tim. My car was ready. Ricky picked me up. I saw my car and it looked good as new. Tim had me fill out the paperwork. All was done. Apple took great care with the windshield installation. I have a clip-on rear-view mirror, which the technician made sure it was attached to the new windshield. I also have a Sirius XM external antenna that I seated. Apple also made sure that everything was fine there, too. The only thing that I forgot to do was figure out the mileage before I need to take my car in for an oil change, as the reminder sticker is gone. That's minor, as I can always look that up. I love how careful and detailed the technician was. I highly recommend this place. Tim was also kind to reassure me that it would be perfectly normal to see the crack from the stone chip continue to grow. (133)

The job was done quickly but when I got my car back, there was a huge scratch on door. The scratch looked fresh and the owner denied scratching the car even though, the car is in brand new condition and I rarely drive it. The owner did not even care to come out and access or look at what was done. With that in mind, the job done wasn't too bad. But for the service and the amount of money lost due to the scratch, it's not worth it to come here. Would not recommend. 1/5.

I love the location of this Speedy Glass as it is in walking distance to Markville Mall and quite a few restaurants in the area, Leaving my car here for a 3 hour was not painful at all as I can go eat, shop and drink. Setting up the appointment was quite easy as you can either call the Head Office or this particular location directly. The service was fast and efficient. Within 15 minute my claim was processed and approved and my car was ready as promised. William Mak the Manager has good experience with dealing with different insurance company claims and he make sure that you receive all the incentives and benefits. I love the free water repellent treatment and 3 year free cracks and chips repairs. I ended up getting new front and rear wipers at a good price and professionally installed by the technician. I am a happy customer and knowing I now have a perfect view of the road condition in all kinds of weather!

They came out on the day we had arranged, called ahead of arrival, came on time, and completed the job which looks great! So credit card it was! It was by appointment only and they would call if they could fit me in sooner (which they did). Was told it would take 2 hours. The waiting room and washroom were clean. The garage was neat, organized and well swept. They waited until I inspected the car to take payment. The price was exactly as quoted, they didn't try to gouge me at all. No add-ons or upselling. It was as straight-up a transaction as you can get. 2 hours later and I was ready to drive on the highway behind a dump-truck hauling crushed gravel! It's a day later, no issues with the install at all. No leaks, no whistles, just nice new, shiny glass. I don't normally do these kinds of reviews - I'm not shilling for this company or location. But I've reached out to a few other windshield service providers before I got a hold of these guys and I got seriously jerked around on pricing and just general attitudes... like I was interrupting the most important thing in the universe to ask them how much to that thing they do for a living. That made my experience with General Auto Glass so much better. It was like a breath of fresh air to just get a quote, make an appointment, get the job done and pay only what they asked in the first place all the while being treated nicely. With that said, the worst cliches of anti-service 'service' or repair shops came true. 1- They demand a $25 credit card deposit when you book an appointment. Who else does that? Do not agree to this. Here is why: 2- Whoever took the appointment had booked me in the wrong category. 3- The person at the desk there was quite rough around the edges. It is not that his demeanour and diction were quite lacking, but he had no customer service skills either. 4- The man claimed he cannot take me in because of the error. He could not explain how it happened. He also could not explain why the person who was going to work on my car (in the wrongly booked category) could not instead do my work with the time he had been freed up at. 5- His solution was for me to leave my car there for the day and they would see if they could get to it that day. I would not even if he had been polite, courteous or analytical about any of it. Not only an apology was not forthcoming, I can assure any readers that they did not do 'glass' here and are evidently not 'speedy' here.
