Trust me. He's what your searching for when it comes to eye care for the people you love. My entire attitude changed when I meet THE best Optical Doctor, the Best Human, and the Best person on the planet to help my Father, Dr. Itty. This fantastic Doctor has a waiting room filled with patients and he took the time to answer EVERY question my Father asked. He heard EVERY word. He did this while looking my Father directly in his eyes. Like I said, he's a great Doctor. Dr. Itty didn't rush my Father or dismiss him like I've seen every other Doctor do. I was really impressed by his beautiful patience and his power of listening. Dr. Itty really was in the moment with my Father, not thinking about the other people in the busy waiting room. He was focusing on my Father and using 100% of his medical knowledge. I was very, very impressed with his thoroughness. Thank you Dr. Itty. You do it right. It is very rare today to meet a Doctor that isn't thinking about his next vacation to Hawaii or a new room addition to his Fire Rock mansion in the the mountains. The only issue I had is that I was told multiple things that contradicted each other. For example, the surgery center told me that I would wear a shield over my eye for two weeks straight all day long. When I went to my follow up appointment, they told me no I really only needed to wear it at night time. The surgery center told me that I could request nausea medication from the doctors office. Should I feel nauseous. I did indeed feel nauseous and had dizziness and motion type sickness from this surgery. I spoke with the doctors office and they informed me that they do not write prescriptions for nausea medication, but that I would have to call my primary care physician for that. They aren't even aware I'm having the surgery! I also had my first appointment and we agreed I would have the surgery as soon as possible in the next available date. We were both available. Never heard from the scheduler, then finally called them after about 10 days and the surgery was scheduled for a few weeks out! Scheduler said Dr. had written not urgent. I did call the doctors office and it was rectified and moved back to the originally discussed date. There were multiple things like this and it got confusing and a little frustrating for me that the surgery center and doctors's offices are not on the same page. Again, I did like the staff and the doctors.

It gives you the option to schedule online but I preferred to do so over the phone. I wanted to make sure our insurance was compatible, etc. It took about an hour on the phone, going back-and-forth with them to determine whether or not our insurance was compatible. There were a lot of issues that were kind of confusing. In the end, we were approved and I was able to make my appointment. They didn't have many times available. Pretty much all of them ran over his naptime so we went for it anyway. It is located in the Mercy Gilbert Medical Center. Parking is available in the lot. Everything is very safe and clean. As of August 2022, we were still required to wear masks in the building. No siblings were allowed, only parents and patient. The place itself is very clean with sanitizer everywhere. Upon arrival, we were asked to sign in on the kiosk and then fill out paperwork. There was another insurance problem that was very annoying for us to handle. There was a debate between the receptionist and our family as to whether or not we needed to pay. We have full medical coverage plus a vision plan, so I didn't understand the issue. After some back-and-forth, it was resolved and understood that we have medical insurance. That first impression was not great. We then got in to see the medical assistant who built a file for us and asked us a series of questions. They asked us a lot about how we were just out of town. Assuming about Covid, etc. The doctor, Mark Salevitz came to meet us and he was great. He was funny, made light of the entire experience, which we appreciated. We really enjoyed working with him and he made us feel better about everything. I will return here for the doctor alone. I understand why our pediatrician referred us here.

Not here, there was a clear difference between the lenses and I feel confident he got the prescription right. He was also super knowledgeable and explained everything. I like doctors who will take the time to explain things. Dr. Quaranta's assistant was also super awesome. She also took the time to explain everything to me and pointed different parts of the eye. I learned that the optic nerve is composed of a disc and a cup, so now I'll be able to win trivia night! The staff was definitely doing their part to stop the spread of covid 19 including wiping everything down, sanitizing equipment and wearing masks. Plus they had the best smelling hand sanitizer ever. The optician Katie was so patient with me while I tried on like 100 different pairs of glasses and we wound up finding a pair that I liked that wasn't too badly priced. The facility is located in a large medical complex with convenient and ample parking. Dr. Elliott Janousek, O.D., is an exceptional professional. He provides comprehensive eye exams that check visual acuity, depth perception, and eye coordination to detect issues like cataracts or macular degeneration. He also performs systemic health screenings to identify overall health issues affecting the eyes, such as diabetes and hypertension. Additionally, Dr. Janousek is highly skilled in prescribing topical and oral medications for eye infections, allergies, and inflammation, and he provides excellent surgical co-management before and after procedures performed by their seasoned ophthalmologist. The eye exam process is very efficient. The optical technician, Heep, is professional and thorough during the initial medical review and pressure testing. The practice also utilizes retinal and fundus photography to capture detailed digital images of the inside of the eye to screen for diseases. The administrative staff is equally wonderful. Maddy at the reception desk is always cheerful, helpful, and accommodating with scheduling. Please note that this is a very popular and busy office. I highly recommend scheduling any follow-up appointments on the same day as your visit to avoid scheduling delays.

After following up with my PCP, they resent the referral, and someone finally called me in early August. The earliest available appointment was in October, but a week before the appointment, it was canceled. I rescheduled for November, and on the morning of that appointment, they canceled again. To make matters worse, they only send text messages to notify you of cancellations--no calls to explain or help reschedule. After this frustrating and unprofessional experience, I gave up and went elsewhere.
