Bottom Line: You can not trust anything Prime Stone tells you…read more I completed a major rebuild of a house and out of the dozens of vendors I dealt with Prime Stone was by far the worst. Their prices and delivery times would change every time I talked to them. If I came close to an order the "price" would increase per the owner. If I wanted to discuss things directly with him, he would be impossible to get a hold of. Also they made me purchase material samples, which I needed to coordinate with my designer- I worked with vendors from SLO to Reseda, and they were the only ones to do that- and they would overcharge for that, supposedly because "customers would take advantage of that privilege" (yeah- makes no sense). They repeatedly guaranteed a full refund when I returned the unused samples. Of course when I returned the samples they would not honor that promise. They said they were mislabeled(?), used(?) , not theirs(?) and were too old (?). Total BS. Worse- when I politely asked to get my money back I was insulted (called stupid and a poor businessperson), asked to leave. When I then asked to talk to the owner I was told they would call the police. I have been a Ventura resident for forty years and this is was my worst ever experience with a local business. Avoid. They charged me over $100 for this.

When you're done with the wood, someone is usually watching you and they know when you're done usually. Or you can just let them know you're done and you want your form with the wood you got counted. Then you drive back out and park your car to pay inside. Then when you leave that parking lot, you give the guy in the shack your form and the receipt. Then he recounts your wood again. Then the little arm lifts up and you're out. You can rent a lot of tools inside but it's a bit expensive if you rent it for a long time. Might as well buy the tool and resell it on marketplace at that point. There's some drop in showers you can buy here. Also some sink options. There's a bathroom inside if you need to go.

Then Employee walking into work, explained to me on his way in, that I needed to get in car, drive over to first driveway and then drive in back. 3 different Guys in back helped me. One even walked in front of my car to direct me from 2x2 wood in front to redwood 2x2. He was also one that directed me to other lumbar yard that does milling. You can't get that kind of attention and help at Big Box Stores! I need the board I'm replacing mitered on one end. They don't do that but directed me to, Builder's First Source. on Thompson l. They sell wood and do milling, so can cut it for me. But they're only open Monday to Sunday.

I called my Builders First Source sales rep Mike and told him and he didn't ask any questions or offer to review anything with me or explain anything--he just said, "bummer, hopefully you can find a guy to fix the doors around so they hang the way you want them to." I don't want to drill out my expensive new doors, I want nice new doors as specified on our plans. This is the reason I sent our building plans via email to Mike and reviewed everything with him. I'm not a building professional, and there is a lot of trust ordering $20,000 worth of windows and doors, and I had hoped Mike would be able to read plans correctly and I trusted him to order the correct doors as specified on my plans. Apparently it is not possible for Mike to read plans and order correct doors--something that I wish I would have known BEFORE I paid for the wrong doors. So far I am very disappointed and would 100% recommend homeowners AVOID Builders First Source as they seem to be geared more toward building professionals. I am currently trying to resolve this issue and was told this morning that a manager would call me. I will update this review if I hear back from someone.
