After multiple scheduled appointments and no-shows, they finally showed up one day. They were delivering a pre-assembled barbecue grill. It was to go on the balcony which is upstairs. They were informed of this and they charged extra. OK. The first time they came out a very small older gentleman was by himself. There was no way he could carry that grill upstairs by himself. The next time he came with an older woman. The two of them struggled greatly in getting it up the stairs. In doing so, they took large chunks out of my solid wood banister in multiple places and not only knocked paint off the wall on the other side but left deep gouges as well. They also dented the stainless portion in a couple of places. I was contacted by the company the next day that they would be charging me an extra $50 since there were 3 flights of stairs, not one. Well this is not true. There is only one normal length flight of stairs. I promptly responded sharing the experience and the damage they did. After not receiving a response, I contacted the company again stating that I was going to take them to court for the damages. They offered me half of my money back, $62. What a joke. I agreed just to be done even though the wood work repair and Sheetrock repair and painting was $350+ and the grill could not be repaired....it was cosmetic. Well, that money never came and now they are unresponsive and it's been 2 months! I will file in small claims court next week! Sunday we went to Ikea and bought 3 dressers and a nightstand. Since we have a honda civic and a convertible, we had to use the home delivery service (which btw is not bad! less than $100 and you get it the next day!). As my boyfriend was filling out the delivery forms, I noticed some little business cards for Assemblers, Inc. It made me start thinking about how many hours and how much swearing and how many hammered fingers it was going to take to assemble 4 pieces of furniture with drawers. So I stuck a card in my pocket and emailed them when we got home. Early Monday morning, I received a call and was given a price ($184 for all 4 pieces) which we thought was fair considering it was saving us 6-12 hours of our time. The appointment was set for Wednesday afternoon and the assemblers showed up on time and were polite, quick and didn't leave a mess. They also assemble furniture for Office Depot, Staples, Pier One, Pottery Barn, Z Gallery, Crate and Barrel and others. So if you get those boxes home and then wonder what you were thinking.... give these guys a call. You can also email them for a quote at assemblersinc@yahoo.com . PS- They don't take the boxes that your furniture came in, which sucks if you're in a 'pay as you throw' house and not an apartment building with a dumpster. I think they should start adding that service for a fee. I'd gladly have given them $10-$20 to save myself the trouble of cutting all those boxes down for recycling. This company is terrible! I would give it a negative 3 stars if I could. Waited 3 weeks for assembly only to be told that they could no longer do the install. When I contacted the place where I purchased my gazebo, I was told Assemblers Inc would not do it for the $200 I paid, but now wants $900! What the h-e-double hockey sticks kind of scam is this! I cannot believe that Academy recommended this company. I bought a recumbent bike January 2. The company was VERY efficient about calling me for money. They were supposed to come this last Saturday between 8 and 12. Nope. I called. Twice. They could not reach the tech. Monday I got a call from a manager who put me at the top of the list for yesterday (Wed). My elderly mother got up early to be available. Another missed appointment. 2 calls yesterday. I was told the tech didn't have the information and he would call. Nope. I called again and was told a manager would call. Nope. I didn't even get a lunch break. One time I called and got a message the voice mail was not set up. It appears this company may be a scam. Is this really a company?? read more

We purchased a grill from Home Depot, and paid Home Depot to have Assemblers, Inc assemble it. Welll. Day 1: took time off, then the company called to tell us the truck broke down. But not to worry, the manager would come himself the next day to assemble it. Day 2: took time off, then the company called to say the manager had quit, but they'd call back to reschedule. Day 3: took the morning off, then the company called to see if it could come that afternoon, then it didn't show. We called, the company said the technician had been there but we weren't - it showed us a picture of the call box as proof; we checked our incoming call register, and told the operator that there were no calls. Now we're scheduled for Friday, and we'll see. If they don't show up, we're calling Home Depot and telling them to come collect the grill, that it's delivered a defective product. If it tries to divert us to the installer, we'll remind them that the installation was part of the purchase price - we bought it from HD including assembly. read more

I ordered my grill from Home Depot on 4/10 and paid for Assembler's Inc to assemble it I was told they would contact me within 24 hours. I had to call on 4/14 when my grill arrived as I never heard from them I had to call multiple times before I could even schedule an appointment. I was finally able to schedule an appointment on 4/28, 2 weeks after receiving my new grill and multiple calls later. On 4/28, I cleared my day and the technician never showed up I have called back 4 more times and still do not have an appointment. All 4 times, they promised to call me back and never did I paid for a service that they have not fulfilled Also, I have notified the Better Business Bureau regarding their lack of customer service. Paid for a professional install for a recumbent exercise bike. The kid they sent, first, brought the wrong product, then once he went back to get the correct product, in the process of putting the bike together he put a 5-inch scratch in the BRAND NEW laminate flooring, I had just installed a few months prior. I called to speak to someone about getting a refund or reimbursement for the cost of repairing the scratch and after several phone calls to corporate, I was never put in contact with a manager. I was told twice that a manager would call me by the end of the business day and never received a callback. I will NEVER use this company again! I would have been better assembling this bike on my own, with one hand. There is nothing professional about this service. read more

Over one month to schedule, two missed appointments, numerous calls to them, numerous call backs promised but never done, appts set but not communicated to the driver. Complete and utter chaos and miscommunication. Demanded refund and promised but never done until I followed up several days later. From start to finish it took over 6 weeks with NOTHING done and a refund you have to fight for. CRAZY. read more

Got a bad first impression when they kept calling me without trying email or text during business hours during covid-19 when people work remotely using their phones. The installer was cool. Very nice and reviewed his installation with you. But the installation failed. And I couldn't get anyone to follow up. I returned the item and will not use their services again. read more

Please DO NOT make the same mistake I did and use Assemblers Inc. They are the absolute WORST COMPANY in the United States. That should be their new company slogan. That is something they could probably live up to. I bought a basketball goal on Amazon and contacted Assemblers Inc. to install. They sent 1 guy out to do a job clearly meant for 2 people, it even says it all over the boxes. Even the man they sent out said Assemblers does that all the time and he knew he would need help eventually. I told him just to come get me if he needed help lifting...even though that's what I paid Assemblers to do. He was a nice enough guy, but as I left him to his work he proceeded to install the concrete in a manner that my 11 year old son could have done. Not formed in any manner and completely un-level. I watched a YouTube video that evening to confirm that it was imperative that this part be level. I don't even think they guy had forms or a level with him. That afternoon he knocked on my door and told my wife he would be back in 4 days to finish the job after the concrete dried. When I got home I went outside and saw the awful job he did. He left the pile of dirt blocking my gate which he was suppose to carry off with him and 10 empty concrete bags scattered all over my driveway that I got to pick up. I waited until the 4 days past as I was going to discuss with him when he showed back up my concerns. However, he didn't show up on the 4th day, or the 5th day. At that point I called, texted and emailed Assemblers and have received no response. Now I have to have someone break the concrete up to redo what he did, I just hope the parts in the concrete can be used again and I don't have to reorder. What a nightmare! Vote Assemblers Inc for the WORST COMPANY in the United States...you can vote by not ordering from them. Show them that companies like this don't deserve your hard earned money. read more

Pathetic company. Bought a gun safe from academy. I was told this company would get in touch with me shortly to deliver it. Almost a week goes by, and I call them to see what's up. Anyway, I talk to a rude, incompetent and apathetic woman who seemed extremely clueless. I was told they couldn't deliver it after basically recounting my order to this stupid woman. read more

Do NOT hire this company. I bought a gun safe from Academy, and they referred me to this company. First, my scheduled time was from 11-2, and they were supposed to call me 30 minutes out. They called at 1:45 stating their dispatcher sent them to Conroe (2 hours from my town). When they showed up after 5:00, the safe had 2 huge scratches on it. They stated their corporate offices did not supply them with the equipment they needed to move the safe. They drug it across our new tile on a blanket. A 500lb safe!! When dragging across the tile, they managed to knock a hole in our sheetrock and crack our door molding. They also broke the locking mechanism on the safe. My wife called me at this point, and I hurried home. After seeing the damage for myself and hearing their attitudes towards myself and their own company, I told them to get out of my house and take the safe with them. One of their delivery people cursed loudly in front of our 5 year old. Even the manager of Academy stated that he never refers customers to this company. I will warn everyone I know about them and go to the Better Business Bureau. read more
