Crowns look great, but what's underneath doesn't…read more After their initial root canal and crown (done wrong), I ended up with a year-long infection that eventually required an apicoectomy and then a full root canal redo by an endodontist -- who was shocked they had let it go so long (more than a year) and hadn't caught, on imaging, that the entire root canal seal had failed and was leaking. Right after the crowns were placed more than a year ago, I called them in urgent pain -- but they didn't answer for a full week because of "phone issues." In desperation, I went to a 24/7 dentist who misdiagnosed me. When they finally answered the next day, I went back because they knew my case and I didn't want to risk losing my new crowns. They loaded me with antibiotics, did the apicoectomy, and gave me a free bottle of "fairy dust" mouthwash, assuring me that time would help. It didn't. They could have caught this much earlier with proper imaging like an MRI and a timely referral to an endodontist. Instead, it was delay after delay, unnecessary procedures, and more pain than I should have endured. I will not be returning. I paid a lot of money for a nice crown with a hole in it.

I tried wearing it for an hour during the day and over time I got acclimated but then had insane rebound pain when I took it off. I went back to complain and the dentist said there's no way they made any mistakes with it and it must be my fault. Maybe my teeth moved because my retainer isn't in good condition. I asked if my teeth could really move that much in 2 weeks. He admitted that no, they couldn't. He seemed upset but finally allowed me to get a soft night guard. Turns out in my sleep I think a soft night guard is chewing gum! I woke up so sore I couldn't eat solid food that day. Did I go back and tell them? Heck no! I told them I would be fine with a missed appointment fee or a late fee since it was my fault for not adding the appointment. When I arrived, they took my blood pressure and informed me that it was too high for them to proceed with the treatment. I explained that I often have high blood pressure at doctor's appointments, which is well-documented. I also mentioned that I had taken my ADD medication an hour before, which tends to raise my blood pressure. I even showed them my previous doctor's visit records on my phone, indicating that my blood pressure is typically 5 to 10 points lower than what they measured. The dental assistant suggested that I should see my doctor and get on blood pressure medication, which I found unnecessary as I already know that I get high blood pressure, and I see my doctor every 3 months. They took my blood pressure 2 other times and each time it lowered. They went ahead with the exam, took my x-rays, and then poked an area that had not been bothering me before. It turns out I have a cavity under a crown, which is unfortunate. After the exam, they informed me that I was done for the day and would need to come back when my blood pressure was lower. I was extremely irritated, as I have never had this issue before at this office. They have told me I had high blood pressure each time but never denied me treatment. My high blood pressure at medical appointments is well-documented, and despite showing them evidence and explaining my situation, they still denied me a cleaning. This entire ordeal felt like a complete waste of time. I had no idea they would refuse treatment based on high blood pressure, something I experience during all medical appointments, interviews, or similar situations. After the appointment, I went to Starbucks, got a coffee, and took my own blood pressure at home about 30 minutes after. It had already dropped by 10 points, even though I was still angry. Three hours later, I checked it again, and it was back to normal. Not only was I denied treatment, but I'm sure they billed my insurance for the exam and x-rays. Now, the area they poked hurts, even though it didn't when I first arrived. I have been a patient at this place since it opened over 10 years ago, but this was the last straw. They keep changing their policies and dentists, all with varying levels of quality. Save yourself the trouble and find another place that won't discriminate against you or bill your insurance for half an appointment, only to send you home and tell you to come back later. They also mentioned that I had a credit on my account which somehow was being held for 6 months.
