I have been having an issue with the billing department; they had stated that my insurance company is not responding. I called my insurance, and they stated they never received a claim, after that I was told that Stonehaven failed to properly fill out the claim form. I also have a secondary insurance, and it was ignored, they wanted payment without submitting it to my secondary insurance. I had filed several complaints to the BBB, DOPL, and both of my insurance companies. Whomever is not being honest we'll find out. I don't want my credit score to be damaged by someone else's mistakes or failure to do their job. read more

Today, I had a scheduled cleaning appointment, but I missed it because I forgot to add it to my calendar. Fortunately, they were able to fit me in later in the day. I told them I would be fine with a missed appointment fee or a late fee since it was my fault for not adding the appointment. When I arrived, they took my blood pressure and informed me that it was too high for them to proceed with the treatment. I explained that I often have high blood pressure at doctor's appointments, which is well-documented. I also mentioned that I had taken my ADD medication an hour before, which tends to raise my blood pressure. I even showed them my previous doctor's visit records on my phone, indicating that my blood pressure is typically 5 to 10 points lower than what they measured. The dental assistant suggested that I should see my doctor and get on blood pressure medication, which I found unnecessary as I already know that I get high blood pressure, and I see my doctor every 3 months. They took my blood pressure 2 other times and each time it lowered. They went ahead with the exam, took my x-rays, and then poked an area that had not been bothering me before. It turns out I have a cavity under a crown, which is unfortunate. After the exam, they informed me that I was done for the day and would need to come back when my blood pressure was lower. I was extremely irritated, as I have never had this issue before at this office. They have told me I had high blood pressure each time but never denied me treatment. My high blood pressure at medical appointments is well-documented, and despite showing them evidence and explaining my situation, they still denied me a cleaning. This entire ordeal felt like a complete waste of time. I had no idea they would refuse treatment based on high blood pressure, something I experience during all medical appointments, interviews, or similar situations. After the appointment, I went to Starbucks, got a coffee, and took my own blood pressure at home about 30 minutes after. It had already dropped by 10 points, even though I was still angry. Three hours later, I checked it again, and it was back to normal. Not only was I denied treatment, but I'm sure they billed my insurance for the exam and x-rays. Now, the area they poked hurts, even though it didn't when I first arrived. I have been a patient at this place since it opened over 10 years ago, but this was the last straw. They keep changing their policies and dentists, all with varying levels of quality. Save yourself the trouble and find another place that won't discriminate against you or bill your insurance for half an appointment, only to send you home and tell you to come back later. We visited StoneHaven at Draper in May 2023; this marks our second visit with my new dental insurance. In fact, we have been coming to this place for basic dental cleanings for years, despite changes in both dentists and owners. The first visit (Nov, 2022) with new dental insurance went smoothly with no extra cost for the dental cleaning. However, it's not the case during the second visit. I forgot about my dental insurance coverage and inquired at the front desk about whether my dental insurance covers the cleaning and x-ray images for this dental cleaning. The individual at the front desk (who happens to be the partner or owner of that establishment) informed me that Aetna dental insurance would provide coverage. To my surprise, I received an $80 bill for both my husband and myself due to uncovered x-ray images (coded as D0230 and D0220). I reached out to the manager of StoneHaven at Draper to understand the reason behind the $80 charge. It turns out that my insurance wouldn't cover some of the x-ray images and classified them under the deductible portion. When discussing this matter with the manager, I discovered that he was the person at the front desk who assured us of insurance-covered imaging. He also mentioned that he is the partner of the StoneHaven team and x-ray images were needed for exams. We just want to do regular dental cleaning and if he had indicated any uncertainty about my insurance covering all the images during the second visit or had informed me about potential charges from the first visit with my new dental insurance, we could have avoided this bill. We've been getting dental cleanings for years, and not all places require x-ray images. Why do I have to pay for something that isn't necessary? With prior knowledge of potential costs for the x-ray images, I could have options not to proceed this time or could have chosen a different place for the dental cleaning. I feel like I was cheated and I don't trust the partner/owner of this place. We've paid the bill, but our family won't be returning there in the future, and we won't recommend our friends to go there either. 2023 read more

Deceptive. It says on their website that the exam, X-ray and cleaning is free for new patients. Then I show up for the appointment and the cleaning is $95 I will not do business with someone that intentionally misleads the public. read more

This use to be such a great dental office, but all the people use to work here have gonna and been replaced by biased and gossipy workers. Dr.Crespo is unprofessional and does not have your health at best interest. Stonehaven was such a big advocate for invisalign, but she is very against it and told us we wasted our money, despite her not being experienced in it. Take your money and time else where. read more

Dr. Grant was excellent at identifying my issue and taking care of it expeditiously. I have had expensive and painful experiences with other dental offices but Dr. Grant and his team have renewed my faith in dentistry. I am now pain free and I highly recommend. read more

Stonehaven's dental services and staff have been amazing for both my husband and I! From Dr. Grant to the front office, wisdom teeth removal to a cleaning. TERRIBLE WORK. Did a bridge for my wife then both teeth got infected. He ended up do the root canal for both teeth and they still got infected two times. Now she has to redo both teeth again with new dentist because the x-ray showed they are infected (after feeling pain) and the new dentist said the root canal was not done probably. Not only the job was done terribly, but also the lab they ordered the bridge did a horrible and ugly work. He has to replace it after the first bridge fell out after couple months. If you are just cleaning, then it is OK, but re-think if you do any major work like root canal, bridging, or other major work. Cost my wife so much money and time and now she ended up redo both teeth. Luckily the infection is not bad enough to cause major problem to the jaw bone or affect the brain. read more

I went in to recieve a basic cleaning, I went in with no pain, no pink in the sink. I ask not to do X-rays due having no dental and they are expensive. When I got there they told me that they couldnt do my cleaning without the them. I mentioned again that I did not have insurance. The hygenist told me they would do just my back teeth in order to cut the price down, so I agreed. She takes them, measures my gums at 6 sometimes 7, has me sit up and tells me I have peridontal disease, "I dont know if you can see it but your tooth is arching here" (she was right, I couldn't see it), then she tells me I need an $800 cleaning. I was in tears and she says, "I dont want you to lose your beautiful teeth." I was willing to get the work done but couldnt pay that so I went to get an estimate somewhere else. I ended up with a second opinion, the highest gum depth the DENTIST got was a 4 on one tooth and he couldnt find any bone lose. Basic cleaning and being better about flossing should fix me right up. He assured me my teeth were not going to fall out and that Im still very young and he didnt see peridontal disease. After reading reviews on yellowpages.com I discovered I wasnt the only one this has happened to. If you arent sure about something they say, seek a second opinion.
