SCAMMERS! I went in for a cleaning special i saw online, they claimed i needed a deep gum cleaning and refused to give me a cleaning unless i paid $900! What a joke of a business! Do not come here! Don't recommend. Upon my first exam, I was pressured to buy multiple products and procedures that were totally unnecessary. They are very good at informing you of their payment plans. Sandy modern dentistry is all about your money not patient care. I arrived early for my appointment like a good patient and was given full X-rays and then seen by Dr. Butterfield after her exam she said I need a jaw adjustment device I wear in my mouth and a full scale and root plain. COST $1,400. Seriously all I wanted was my teeth cleaned and a possible crown. They would not even clean my teeth so I walked out. I went here after needing to get my teeth cleaned and x-rays after a couple years of not having went to the dentist. When I went in for my appointment they took x-rays and recommended me to get over 1500 dollars worth of work done there on the spot. They said they were unable to do the cleaning but were willing to have me stay and do over 1500 dollars of work done on my teeth. I was able to get the x-rays sent to a couple family members who are also dentists and they said that all I needed was a couple cavity fill ins and I definitely didn't need to have all the work done that they recommended. IF you go here I would definitely get a second opinion on getting any dental work done. It seemed that they were just after my money and after that appointment I immediately switched my dental insurance and found a new dentist that has been working great since. read more

Do not come here, this place is such a joke. First let's start off by them trying to cancel my appointment a hour before my appointment time, due to them not having staff? Yet they charge you $100 if you cancel day of or before the cancellation policy.... My appointment was supposed to be @9 and I ended having to move it to 12 they really didn't want me to even come in that day still but I couldn't come another time because I'm having my baby in a week. Anyways I get there and I wait to be seen go back and they always try to up sell you on something this was my second time here and the first time they did the same thing anyway I declined the "deep cleaning" they suggested I get to prevent gum disease even though I don't have it which by the way is $850 after insurance lol anyways after I declined the "dentist" who honestly didn't even seem like she was an actual dentist she barely looked old enough and the way she spoke didn't seem like she was either anyways after I declined the "deep cleaning" and said I don't have the money to do that today she said oh well if it's money we could take the "laser" part off so it's cheaper I'm like isn't the point of this deep cleaning to get deep into the gums? Which would be the laser that does that. I said no thank you that I would like to proceed with just the normal cleaning that I came in for and this lady SAID they don't do just normal cleanings any more and that I wouldn't be able to have a cleaning done then if I wasn't doing that "deep cleaning to prevent gum disease" they suggested I do I told her I wasn't interested in doing that today and i also didn't have the time to do that because I waited 3 hours from my appointment time and that I would go somewhere else because I just wanted my normal cleaning that all dentist offices offer. and she said and i quote "I'll walk you out then" the lady wasn't friendly or nice after that. after that I just was annoyed I came in 3 hours later then my original appointment time and I'm 9 months pregnant. I honestly didn't even want to go but I knew after I had my baby in a week I definitely wouldn't have time to go to the dentist for awhile. All I wanted was to do a normal cleaning that I typically do every 6 months but apparently this dentist office doesn't offer that. I should have never rebooked with them the last time I went this place is so unprofessional. I honestly wouldn't even waste you're time here. They are seriously terrible and they honestly seem like they just need the money and business because they don't really have any. I will be going back to my normal dentist who's farther from my house but SO much better and they never try and sell me on extra stuff that I really dont have to get done. read more

I normally don't give bad reviews, however I had an awful experience here. I go to the dentist every 6 months and recently moved to Utah. I have never had any problems. This dentist was trying to convince me I had gum disease and had to pay thousands of dollars right there on the spot. I felt uneasy about it as I had no symptoms and was caught very off guard. I decided to go to two different dentists to get a second opinion and they both were appalled that this dentist lied to me. I would recommend to never go here. read more

Hands down the best dentistry I've been to. The staff is really nice and they explain how the cost of each visit breaks down by giving you options based on the dentist's recommendations. Came here a long time ago but I now feel the need to review this place. Came here for the first time when I first moved to Utah. Front desk staff and guy who did all my initial services and x-rays was super nice. They claimed that they use all new technology and offer the deep cleaning and gum services as others here have mentioned. During my consultation the dentist told me I was basically already showing of signs of having gum disease and they recommended the deep cleaning. I was only 23 at the time and have never had a cavity, filling, whatever or any mouth issues in my life other than wisdom teeth removal. After they gave me the pricing broken down although I already knew I wasn't going to get the deep cleaning treatment, I asked for the regular cleaning. Was told that I would only be able to do the regular cleaning this once and then would have to start the deep cleaning if I wanted to keep going there. Then the entire time the dental hygienist was cleaning my teeth she kept trying to sell me the deep cleaning service, telling me that I really needed it, and then proceeded to clean my teeth in a very rough way I have never experienced before, causing what felt like more bleeding than other dentist. It felt like the hygienist was being condescending and talking down on me for not wanting to give in and pay $1,000+ for the deep cleaning. I left feeling chastised and scared since I was told I'm on the road to having gum disease. This was my first dentist experience outside of our family dentist since I was new to the state. I never went back after this since they told me I couldn't anyway unless I wanted the gum treatment. Later when I found the dentist I currently go to, they mentioned NOTHING about gum disease and I am always treated with respect and they do not try to sell me ANYTHING. I don't like to leave bad reviews, others highly recommend this place, but based on the experience I had I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I changed dentists and am so glad I did. Dr. Butterfield corrected a problem my previous dentist created. She explained the procedure clearly before and during it. She gave me clear instructions on care at home and complications to be on the lookout for. I am extremely satisfied with my experience in her office. My wife and I went to a dentist and they told her that she needed a deep cleaning. This dentist however did not have very good hours so she chose to use Sandy Modern Dentistry instead since they are open on the weekends. When my wife went in she told them that she needed a deep cleaning performed. Instead of doing this, they took a useless saliva test to check for bacteria, (Like seriously, what is the point of checking a mouth for bacteria?) billed her $135, and then immediately told her she needed a deep cleaning and to come back in within the next few days. This was done without waiting for the results of the useless lab tests. The other dentist had quoted us $120 for the deep cleaning, this dentist however wanted to charge $380 and apparently gave my wife a chart of all the different options which went all the way up to well over a thousand dollars. We have dental insurance by the way so just imagine what the actual cost would be just for them to scrape some plaque out from under the gums. To say that I am pissed at this office would be a gross under statement. They knew she only needed a deep cleaning, they charge more than triple what other places do for the same services, and the entire time they are doing it they are trying to find every test they can to add to the costs and line their pockets. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! I feel so strongly about this that I am filing a complaint with the DOPL. read more

New office with super convenient hours including Saturdays and evening hours! Was really nervous to find a new dentist after two years of not going but the whole experience has been so great. Dr Butterfield is professional, and she explains everything! We love the staff who are so accommodating and the office is virtually paperless. Cost is higher than my previous dr however everything they have was best technology even with same day permanent crowns made in office. The office manager Ivan is great and will look for discounts if you ask! read more

I scheduled a teeth cleaning 45 minutes into the appt. after x-rays and painful gum poking, I was informed it would be an additional hour and a half to complete my teeth cleaning. Moved to Utah about a year and finally decided to make an appointment with a dentist. This office is close to work and super convenient to make an online appointment. Staff is extremely helpful and nice. Dr. Butterfield is very knowledgeable and thorough. The office is very clean, has up date technology and inviting. Would not recommend. They try to add on unnecessary work/products to charge you more money. Front desk insisted on arguing and insulting me as the customer in front of my children. No thank you! All of the staff that I interacted were with extremely nice and helpful. The office is brand new and super clean. Since I was a new patient I had to get x-rays done and the woman doing them continuously checked to make sure I was comfortable. They have a digital x-ray machine, which emits less radiation (if this is a concern for you). I was really impressed with the tools and technology they were using, that I hadn't seen before at other dentists. Dr. Butterfield took the time to explain the x-ray results to me, which I appreciated, and no other dentist had ever done. The hygienist explained the gum measurements to me, which no one had ever explained before. Overall this was a great experience and everyone was thoughtful and thorough with my care. I also got 5 professional whitening trays for being a new patient, which was the cherry on a top of an awesome experience! Highly recommend! read more
