My experience with Magdan left me with serious concerns and a lot of unanswered questions. What…read morebegan as a home renovation project became increasingly stressful due to ongoing issues with communication, billing clarity, and expectations around the scope of work. Several things that came up during the process did not sit right with me and led to a breakdown in trust. Despite efforts to address these concerns directly and respectfully, i was unable to reach a resolution that felt transparent or fair. The situation eventually escalated into a legal dispute, which has taken a significant emotional and financial toll on my family. We are facing the very real fear of losing our home while trying to sort everything out based off of a fraudulent mechanics lien . In our experience, key issues included: * Unclear and inconsistent communication about project scope and costs * Billing that we felt lacked transparency and raised questions we could not get clearly answered * Work expectations that shifted from what we originally discussed * Difficulty resolving concerns despite repeated attempts to communicate * Escalation to legal action rather than collaborative problem-solving I understand every project and client relationship is different, but based on our experience, i strongly STRONGLY , STROOOOOONGLY encourage others to document everything, ask detailed questions, and pay close attention to anything that feels unclear before signing contracts or making payments. This review reflects my personal experience, and i hope it helps others proceed with awareness and caution.

I was given a handwritten quote and thought, "who still writes quotes by hand?" After doing my homework and calling the referrals they provided, I hired them for the job. I couldn't recommend them more and would gladly work with them again in the future.

I can't stress those reading this enough to never use Corwin for any type of work. My experience…read morefrom them the past few weeks has been nothing short of the worst customer service of any sort I have ever experience. They were subcontracted by my contractor to do the framing and drywall for a basement job. The first 3 weeks and basically 90% of the work had been ok. The last 4 weeks have been nothing short of miserable. There was one area or ceiling left to finish which I paid the day they were allegedly done. That was a terrible move on my part because they were not done at all and left the ceiling an unfinished mess. This isn't even getting into the $6000 in overages they charged me for work that was agreed upon before the job even started. Yes, there was some additional work that was requested as the job progressed. But when I saw the newly updated quote with an additional $6k, I was shocked. But after some discussion and a few hundred dollars knocked off, I still paid them their balance only to be sitting here weeks later with an unfinished portion of ceiling and a newly noticed not plum window opening that Corwin tried to say they were not at fault then tried to blame their laborers. Now fast forward to late last week when I spoke to the owner who agreed to pay me back a sum of money that we agreed upon due to the issues at hand. I then get an email telling me their lawyer will reach out to me. What an absolute joke of a company and I will gladly take this to court. DO NOT USE CORWIN. Thank you for reading and I would be happy to speak with anyone who wants clarification.

I would certainly recommend Michal and team for any future projects.

Why ??? ) which led to relentless abuse by countless Chicago seasons and resulted unsightly mold and moss and other gross growths. He was quick to reply with our initial request for a quote and came by the next day to check out the projects. He priced the work reasonably - was quick to complete the work (stained the roof deck, tore out the carpet on the other deck and installed new decking, even dog-proofed it, to boot!), he paid great attention to detail, and did an overall awesome job. We would definitely recommend him to others and would absolutely use him again!

We should've seen the red flags early on, when they told one of our building owners that they had workers comp insurance, only to backtrack later and say they never said that, then make us pay extra if we wanted that protection. Real sketchy behavior. But they got the roof done (after weeks of showing up at odd hours and rarely often disregarding the agreed upon work schedule), only for us to start experiencing leaks 6 months later in the top unit of our building. Water from melting snow started sopping into the middle of the ceiling, all because they failed to seal the roof material properly. We had a warranty so we asked them to come out and fixed it, only for them to ignore us for weeks - I had to email and call them a half dozen times before they sent somebody over a month after they were first notified of the leaks. When that person did show up, he was quick to tell us that whichever crew sealed the roofing material 6 months earlier did a horrible job. We hoped that would be the last time we ever had to interact with these guys, but a year later over a dozen copings blew off our roof. No other building on our block had copings blow off their building, so it was clearly the result of Capital again doing sub-par work. Capital refused to cover it with their warranty even though it was their fault. I know these guys are cheap, but they'll more than make up for that in the aggravation they cause you.
