Disappointing Experience -- No-Show for Scheduled Appointment…read more We scheduled an appointment with Skylight Specialists / See the Light Windows to measure our home for five replacement windows and a sliding glass door. I originally requested a Saturday appointment, but because none was available, we delayed our vacation departure specifically to accommodate their Monday appointment scheduled between 1:00 and 1:15 p.m. Unfortunately, no one showed up. By 1:45 p.m., I had to call the company myself to find out what had happened. I spoke with Blade, who was cordial and explained that my phone number apparently had not been "keyed" into their system correctly. This was particularly frustrating because I entered my information correctly when scheduling online, and they had both my correct email address and home address in their system. Blade said he had attempted to text me and wanted to reschedule for another day. However, when a customer doesn't respond to a text--particularly for a scheduled sales appointment--a simple follow-up email or phone-number verification could have prevented the situation. What bothered me most was that although Blade was cordial, there was no real acknowledgment that their mistake had wasted my time and caused us to delay our vacation departure for an appointment they failed to keep. Instead, the solution was simply to reschedule for another day. Mistakes happen. An incorrectly entered phone number alone would not normally cause me to leave a negative review. The bigger issue was the lack of follow-through. They had my correct email and address, yet apparently made no additional attempt to contact me, and I ultimately had to call them to find out they weren't coming. Window and door replacement is a significant investment that requires accurate measurements, careful coordination, good communication, and attention to detail. If a company can't reliably manage the initial sales and measurement appointment, it raises legitimate concerns about how the actual installation and any subsequent issues will be handled. Based on our experience, I would recommend potential customers take this into consideration before choosing this company.

They weren't the cheapest bid, but working with Mansel Zeck, their Sr Project Manager, I felt informed and in good hands. The Project Manager, Doug Henderson, was personable, professional and extremely helpful. He was always available to answer my questions and did great follow-up with the city inspector. He went above and beyond coordinating everything with the solar folks who had to remove the panels before the roof replacement and reinstall them afterwards. Doug communicated effectively through out the entire project. Doug also provided all the necessary documentation after completion which got me a reimbursement from our insurance company. Can't get any better than that.

First started working…read morewith monumental way back in 2018 when they finished an order to put in gutters and the rest of our roof when the previous company and who they hired just bailed, so we use the money to pay monumental. They did an extremely great job. They had helped discover that there was a leak an extension of the house where a window install took place only it wasn't noticed because my mother kept plants crowding the window. They worked diligently in fixing that leak and it was great for several months. They did say that the patchwork was not going to last long and was going to need that section of the roof replace because the original design was faulty. Since they guarantee their work for 2 years, it leaked again in a few months and they patched up the work again but said they did such a good job that the entire roof does not need to be replaced they could have very well replaced the entire roof and charged us. But they did not. Their work stands today in 2024 no issues and no problems. They recommended an interior person to help fix and reinstall the old wood paneling that my parents liked. The same person also insulated my garage and discovered the pylons holding up the living room on the extension that was built above the garage head rusted through.( that's a long story on my house foundation) My father offer them to build our back deck, and normally they don't do that kind of thing just Roofing and gutters what they did that as a favor to my dad. Unfortunately, due to covid lockdowns project was unable to get underway until a year and a half later. My father passed in 2020. When they finally got the deck underway they even pitched in a plaque in honor of the passing of my parents and finish the deck. Before the deck was constructed the meticulously made sure the materials were spot on and there were multiple mistakes by the suppliers and they made sure to return those materials and get the correct ones. Unlike most places that I've dealt with they usually charge or come up with some reason do not return materials or just work what they got without telling the customer and you don't find out till someone else points it out past the guarantee. Tamara made sure the suppliers were held accountable. That project was finished in 2022 The most current project I asked them to work on was installing a solar-powered attic fan because the attic fan was holding in heat and raise my energy costs along with cooking the shingles. Unlike the other company that I was just going to install some plastic extenders that go under the shingles I had a feeling it was bull crap I just wanted to see what they would say. Monumental did they install at almost a third of the cost. Monumental has always been honest, open, reasonable, and diligent. In my book they are a six-star company!!!!

I unfortunately contracted with Apex and almost 10 months later I still have an improperly installed roof. A roof has two parts - the underlayment and then the shingles. On my property AND my neighbor's (we share a duplex) the underlayment was not installed to manufacturer's specifications . This decreases the strength and life of the roof. This issue was discussed with Apex Roofing Management but they won't even return phone calls and will not discuss this issue. Furthermore, the roof failed inspection and The Denver Roofing Inspector can't actually see all the issues with a roof installation. Lastly, the mostly unsupervised workers damaged my property. Apex staff twice stated they would come out to fix these issues but, nope, never did. So now I'm left with a improperly installed roof with a significantly decreased life span and decreased strength. Please learn from my dreadful experience with this company.
