I am sharing my extremely wonderful experience at Aspen Dental and look no further for proper dental care. First of all I would like to express my gratitude to the staff who are Rock Stars. My first impression of Aspen Dental is that it is a great facility equipped with top of the line dental equipment. It is well kept up and the service is prompt. Before you know it, your name will be called up and you will be sitting in the dentist chair in no time. Now the staff: Heather in the reception desk is very friendly and helpful. She has a very sweet voice that makes you feel welcome. Then I got to meet DJ (dental assistant)- He took my x-rays and made it very easy. He explained to me step by step what he was doing. Keeping me informed at all times is a big +. Thanks DJ Second, I met Paola the other dental assistant who was also very sweet. And last, but definitely not least, I met Dr. Levy. She is professional, knowledgeable, attentive, fun, energetic, efficient, and just a great person that makes you smile, ha ha (no pun intended). EDIT Okay all the caring and promptness does not excuse that the dentist I saw sent me on a wild ride to get a root canal that I did NOT need. And I knew that I didn't need it cuz I had had a clean bill of healthy roots in the last 2 months. And when I went to my appointment 2 days later at the endodontist's and they took x-rays, I got to sit there for a few minutes looking at them on a monitor. Even I saw my own healthy roots and was like I hope this endodontist isn't going to do any work. When he finally walked me through the x-rays he said that I didn't need the root canal. But this dentist at Aspen was like "you're gonna need a root canal". Listen, in a pinch this place might be good for cleanings and fillings, I don't know. What could be improved? Language is everything. Dr. Martin, if you're not sure, don't say you know. Just recommend specialist evaluation and leave it at that. Very caring and prompt service from making my appointment over the weekend for a semi-emergency type of treatment to the in-office care. Saw Dr. Martin since my usual dentist was out of town. My only star deduction is that they do not have as state-of-the-art equipment as my usual dentist or the dentist before that. I had to put on the vest for x-rays. Not a total dealbreaker and better than witnessing the fact that Banner Hospital at the UofA has dot matrix printers printing your information out. Other than that, my visit was pleasant. Well then you need to train your employees to be able to explain that over the phone so that we are both not wasting each other's time. And why tell me you scheduled me an appointment after confirming that i could come in without x rays over the phone? Feels like i upset someone for asking to get my teeth cleaned without an x ray.... So they told me i had an appointment but never actually put me down in the system out of spite ? Why would i come into your office demanding an appointment and no xrays? False advertisement. We were told in two Aspen locations the same day that they don't have the technician to repair a broken denture, both places told us we needed to do an appointment with a dentist at their site to determined if the denture was reparable or not. We know how that goes.... This is not a special week without technicians, this is the way these companies get their patients and after they need to pay premium fees. Disappointing, had to have my temporary dentures remade and the permanent ones had to be drastically altered, even though I told the tech I wanted the permanent to look like the temps they came back looking totally different, needed major altering to fit and be comfortable, don't look natural though, have gone back to the temps because they look more natural, I would like my money back for the permanent ones that don't look nice and have irritated my gums, upset that they tried to make me accept ill fitting dentures to begin with and that they didn't follow my request for the permanent ones and that those had to be drastically altered and still are not correct read more

When they were making my denture they were very helpful even to rebuilding it because the tech who did the original fitting did not listen when I said it wasn't going to work. It literally fell out when I opened my mouth. Later a tooth came off the denture and they did put that back on. However there was sloppy material up the back side of the teeth and eventually that separated and came off leaving a rough edge to cut my tongue. When I called to have it repaired under warranty, I was told it wasn't a big enough issue to repair under warranty and they no longer accepted UHC Hmo's. Even after an official complaint they refuse to move off their policy. I do not recommend. read more

Very uncomfortable with the care at Aspen Dental. Their regional manager did reach out via email after I filled out their survey, but my email back to them requesting I receive in writing that my Care Credit transaction be voided that they charged BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT, has not been responded to. I was able to receive care elsewhere; I would advise seeking a second opinion on any care recommended by Aspen. read more

Let me start by saying that the staff is super friendly and was very encouraging regarding the work I needed to get a full set of dentures and several extractions but when I spoke with financing, they originally quoted me a price of sixteen thousand dollars. I was shocked and I questioned deceitful practices. I later read an article about a class action lawsuit against them due to inflating charges and being deceitful to the patients. I felt I was being ripped off. Needless to say, I have gone to a different dentist and won't be recommending Aspen Dental in the future. read more

I stopped into Aspen Dental to get my teeth cleaned. Their charge for that service was $3,316. They should be put out of business.

I'm 68 years old and on a fixed income but it doesn't matter to this business.. they don't have a problem milking patient and their insurance company for services not provided. Aspen Dental staff in Tucson told me I needed deep cleaning done. They had me come in two different time to complete the cleaning. I paid around $300 out of my income... come to find out they coded two separate cleanings which was not true... they did 1/2 of my teeth in April and told me I needed to come back to get the other 1/2 done. I tried to clear up the problem but they made no effort to work with me to resolve the issue. They also wanted to do more XRays for my 6 month regular cleanings... why? I took my daughter with Down Syndrome in for an infected tooth. They did X-rays and a full exam on her mouth and the quote was $14,000.. They wanted to pull that tooth and several others and put in a bridge. She has never had any tooth problems in her life (she is 40 yrs old). When l told them l couldn't afford that, they said they could lower it to $2400. I called a friend in Mexico and made her an appointment there.. The total bill was $89.. They pulled the tooth, cleaned her teeth and gave her antibiotics.. We now have all of our work done in Nogales.. read more

Is it crazy to think dentistry should feel more like health care than like a sales pitch at a used car lot? Went in for the first time today thinking I was getting a cleaning and dental exam (as that's what I made my appointment for). I came in at 9:45 as I had gotten a text reminder to please show up 15 minutes early for my 10:00 appointment. That was a bit useless as the office didn't actually open until 10. I was taken back at about 10:20. They did full x-rays of my mouth and then brought in the dentist who said I have 5 cavities that need filled and possibly a root canal. Then the hygienist came in to "diagnose" which cleaning I would need, not actually do a cleaning. Finally the office manager took me to go over the costs of the procedures and schedule my next appointment. I left with a possible invoice of $4,849, but she did let me know that the fillings would be 15% off if I scheduled to have all 5 of them done. Is it just me or is it a little bit abnormal to offer a percent off on a "necessary" medical procedure? Have you ever seen a legitimate doctor offer "25% off appendectomy" or "buy one get one mole removal"? End of the day, maybe I do need $4,000 worth of dental work, maybe I don't. But I'm certainly not going to have it done somewhere where I feel preyed on. Bottom line is I think they are taking advantage of people without insurance and making them feel scared into making huge purchases. My health shouldn't be held over my head (and oh ya I don't want Invisalign but thanks to the 3 people who suggested it). I was warned by a few colleagues that I would likely walk out with a long treatment plan, costing a few hundred dollars (that's with my insurance paying half). Since I was desperate to get an appointment for a cleaning before my Insurance changed, I needed an appt ASAP. This was the only place I could get into. My my colleagues were correct! I had three pages of "issues" that neither the dentist not hygienist told me of. Rather, I was escorted to another person, in billing! She delivered the news of my results. I was shocked and said six cavities? You've got to be kidding me. Are you sure you have the right chart? She double checked. Yes. I asked to talk to the dentist or the hygienist -but was told they were gone for the day (wow! they left in a hurry!) so neither couldn't come out and explain. The billing person proceeded to tell me, "it's tooth number 5 & 10, as well as.... that have cavities.." Looks like a possible root canal, on tooth number 20. I said, "WHAT??" I said I don't number my teeth. I have no idea what number five and 10 you're referring to. And tooth number 20 that needs a root canal, what tooth is that?!? Awful. Just awful experience. That was the first time & LAST time I will ever go to them. That was the exam. They wanted me to make another appointment for the cleaning. I said I'll pass. Aspen has been great, and I would be giving them a 1 star except for one huge mistake. THEY REFERRED ME TO VALLEY ENDODONTICS! Based on this referral (for the extraction of three teeth that Aspen couldn't perform) I went to Valley and am now being hit with a surprise medical bill of $190 a month or so after they ASSURED me in person that I didn't owe them anything else. Now VALLEY ENDODONTICS IS GOING TO ATTACK MY CREDIT SCORE BECAUSE I REFUSE TO PAY THEM. I was reluctant to write a bad review about Aspen over this, except that when you refer someone you take on part of the responsibility of what comes of taking your advice. My suggestion to Aspen is that they take more care to check the integrity of the businesses they refer patients to. I came in due to a toothache 7/11/2020. All of the staff were warm and welcoming aside from a heavyset woman in a purple top whom glared at me when I walked past her. I was hoping that she wasn't a dentist bc I definitely wouldn't have had her working on me, bad vibes. I proceeded w/ my X-rays and exams, everyone from the dental assistant, dentist and hygienist were awesome and thoroughly explained my cause and treatment for my tooth repair. They told that a woman by the name of Heather would speak to me regarding my financial options. Lo and behold, it's that woman in purple blouse!! Upon entering the room w/ the other staff, she was cheerful, but once I followed her to her little cubicle, I felt as if she was been condescending. She was real pushy on trying to have me sign up for their credit loan and and how much money did I have at that moment, and if I could ask someone to borrow the money from. The audacity of this woman, her assumptions, and what I saw as her attempt of an intimidation stare to make me change my mind and sign up for credit ( there were several awkward pauses). A few thousand $$ isn't pocket change, but I am willing to shell it out for emergency purposes, such as a root canal. Unfortunately, due to this woman's approach and interaction with me, I'll gladly spend my hard earned $$ w/ another company that don't employ ppl whom I don't trust with my personal information and make presumptions due to my 'youthful' looks. read more

I had made an appt for my husband to have a tooth removed, he is inalot of pain. We had scheduled one for 4:45pm on Thursday 9/27/18. we arrived and got checked in. After being there, other people came in and filled out paperwork and then were taken back before we were. After waiting 45 min, with nothing from the front office staff, we left. Now I don't know if this is because we are white,( only reason I say this, is because we went to a southside office and the staff spoke Spanish and seemed to be having a good time) or that we have alot of tattoos,or that we didn't have ins., Regardless it is no way to treat patients. Please read before visiting Aspen Dental. I'm sure there are some out there that had a fine visit to this dental clinic, mine was anything but fine. The only reason I had an appt at Aspen was to put a crown back on. I had the crown with me. Well....after an array of xrays and exam,and, of course the financial consultation, I never did get my crown bacK on! So the reason they couldn't put crown on was that there was decay under the tooth that had to be addressed 1st. I think they even mentioned something about it being a legal issuee if they were to place a crown on a decayed tooth...? So the exam and findings were quite extensive I needed an abscessed tooth attended to that also needed root canal and crown. I needed a possible 2nd root canal, several fillings and 2 crowns. To the tune of $7,000. Yikes! I was actually in tears because of the grave seriousness of my problems, exemplified by the financial consult. I needed to get that abscess dealt w ASAP! When I left they held a $3,000 pending charge on my Care credit for work on my abscess I had not received yet. After this scary financial issue I was facing, I did some research. I did not have any symptoms of an abscess. I went to another dentist and lo and behold, I did not have an abscess nor did I need a root canal. Or any other root canals. Oh and the crown they wouldn't t put back on because tooth was decayeed...? It wasn't. I feel Aspen Dental really took advantage of me only to stick me w a huge bill of $7,000. It also took some doing to get them to take out the $3,000 hold they placed on my Care Credit acct. They have released the $3,000. I would not recommend Aspen Dental. If you go there, you may want to get 2nd opinion. Like I said, good for you if your experience at Aspen was favorable. That's great. Above and beyond!! I'm deathly afraid of the dentist which I told them up front and the kindness and friendliness took my worries away! The first person I met was Mario, he reminded me so much of my son that it put me at ease because he's so easy to talk to. Second was Emilio who is my absolute fave!!! He worked out a plan and walked me through step by step. Dr. Ha was gentle and very informative. My dental Hygienist's Angie and Amanda were incredibly patient with me and true saint's. Got hooked by a coupon for free xrays and exam. The cleaning was at a reduced rate so I set up an appointment. Once I got in I had several xrays taken from a 3D image to a Pano and bite wings. Once the Dentech came in she checked my gums and proceeded to measure gum line. At this point she told me I needed a deep cleaning, scaling and root planing! This was the Dentech prognosis not the Dentist. I asked about just a cleaning and she denied my request. Mind you I have seen a dentist my entire adult life for regular scheduled cleanings and exams. Exam from Doc and no mention about the Dentech prognosis or how bad and what to expect. He just shook my hand and told to wait for office manager. This place doesn't care about their patients and all they're in for is money ! I went there in discomfort and left exactly the same way, difference is that they made me put down half the payment just to make an appointment for cleaning ! I wasted over an hour in there and left when nothing's changed. I read these reviews and decided to go with a different practice that has a much higher review on yelp and now I've called them more than three times to get that refund and still haven't gotten it ! It's been more than 10 days since I cancelled the appointment and was told that it'll be processed but I called again but they just told me to wait for a callback that most likely isn't even happening! When I was there, the sales lady was more concerned about me giving them a positive review than how I actually feel. I was able to get an appointment fairly quick. They offered financing which was amazing, because I don't think I could have gotten my work done had they not of. The staff is fantastic, always greet you with a smile. I saw dr. Lee, she is very pleasant to deal with. Offers lots of options and is a straight shooter. Ok so I went into there office to have a tooth pulled because of pain. Yep weeks later I was seen and had tooth removed it's been about a week later and I'm in worst pain now then when I went In. After I read some reviews I obviously choose the wrong place to go to because the dentist that I seen was very brief and felt like I was being talked down to because of my issues. The staff and Dentist could not have been nicer.....no judgement. I was simply put at ease by everyone. I needed a lot of procedures and a lot of appointments. This is a low end money churning game. I needed a full denture and a friend went to Aspen so I checked out what they had to offer. First of all my friend just had his done a week prior to me going for a consult. I went in they did xrays and began their sales process which is like buying a car at this place. They started at 9k and the product they sell is noy the top of the line. I told them that my friend only paid 4k and they lowered the price to 4k which was not something that builds confidence. I left and observed my friend's experience with his aspen denture which to this day they can not get his to stop hurting him. I went to a few others and got the same treatment and feeling about the dentist. I found a dentist that did everything for $1900 and from day one they have been so comfortable easy to get use to. My friend is 1 year later still not happy with his aspen denture and is considering just starting over with the dentist I used. Beware of this timeshare like selling process, inferior product and price gouging. Doctors have become greedy and untrusted do you shopping carefully. read more

Leaving 4 stars for now because I technically haven't had dental work done yet. However, I went in yesterday to get X-rays, and to figure out what work needed to be done and how to go about it. I've never had dental work done as an adult so my anxieties are very high BUT Holly, Nikki, Heather and Dr. Lee were such a delight, so easy going, informative and made me feel extremely comfortable! Summary: I went into Aspen Dental on a Worker's Compensation injury, they overcharged, then illegally sent the remainder of the bill to collections, and the repair to my tooth fell out after less than 1 year. Do not use Aspen Dental, they do terrible work and are a dishonest practice. I went in for a worker's compensation injury, and from the second the examination began, they immediately started trying to sell me additional services completely unrelated to my injury. What started out as a simple fix on a cracked tooth ballooned into $3000 treatment plan. After repeatedly refusing these nonessential services as they were not covered by workers comp, they finally got around to fixing the one issue I came in for, a cracked tooth($300). However, because of either their sheer greed or grotesque incompetence, they billed for more than worker's comp had agreed to pay. And rather than just hash it out with the insurance company handling the claim, they decided to try to collect from me, which should be noted is illegal in AZ, a provider cannot try to collect on worker's comp claim from the patient. After months of going back and forth with both the billing office at Aspen and the insurance company to resolve this, Aspen arbitrarily sent the matter to collections regardless of how illegal their action were. Even the insurance agent got frustrated with how completely lazy and incompetent the staff at Aspen's billing was and finally just gave them the extra $100. But I still get letters and phone calls from collections because the idiots at Aspen Dental billing can't seem to figure out how to pull something from collections, even though the debt was paid and it never should have gone to collections in the first place. And to add insult to injury, the minor fix to the cracked tooth already fell out and it hasn't even been a whole year since the work was done. Same experience as the others, I have great oral care and am 68 years old. The hygienist told me I had great oral care. All of a sudden when I was ushered over to the overly stern office manager, I was told I had gum disease and needed a "special" cleaning, which of course isn't covered by my insurance. I argued with her that my former dentist, who retired, told me I didn't have any gum disease and did regular 6 month cleanings. The office manager was rude and all about money. She told me they don't do regular cleanings and went on and on about how I had gum disease. Do not go here unless you want to be charged for services you do not need. The dentist and back office people are nice, I think the work done was satisfactory but the front staff and office managers are awful! read more

I have had good experiences with the hygienist and the dentist. My biggest issue is that the receptionist scheduled me before my 6 months were up for insurance coverage and when I questioned it over the phone I was reassured it was fine. After my appointment, I was informed that I was a week early so insurance wouldn't pay and would have to pay in cash which felt deceptive. I would have appreciated more authenticity up front. read more
