They tricked me. I wanted an appointment with the Periodontist and they made the appt. Well on confirming my appt when i called them the receptioist said, " oh no your not seeing Dr. Poidmore the Periodontist your seeing Dr Ung the regular dentist. I said i had made the appt to see the Periodontist. She well thats our policy you see the regular dentist first and IF he determines that you should see the Periodontist then you will. I canceled the appt. I didnt like the manipulation. read more

I was told by woman in office to call united healthcare and change just the dental part of my coverage. And that it would not do anything to the rest of my coverage. I didnt sign the paper work, came home and called United Healthcare and my person that helps with my insurance. United Health care said , if I had changed coverage on dental from one to another it would have changed everything I would not be able to see any of my doctors as they do not take Medicare 0001. reason for them to want me to change. it would have got from 1000. to 3000 and they said I needed 2800 in dental work done.. And that would have taken all of my dental for the year. done with them. read more

I went for dental exam, x-rays (regular & a panoramic) & cleaning. Had to return to have a "baby cavity" filled & a sharp edged tooth filed down. The dentists cavity description not mine. So I went back for the filling. The dentists assistant put something on a cotton swab and said this would numb my gums. Very soon afterwards I started having breathing problems. I asked for water. I managed to rinse my mouth to dilute what was in my mouth causing the allergic reaction. At my 1st visit I provided my health records, which had everything I'm allergic to listed, red 40 dye was top of the list. No One their read my health records. I got irate because the numbing liquid had red 40 dye and they obviously had NOT looked at my health history. I was told by the dentist that they had an epi pen. I looked at him and said yea I Always carry one, but I prefer Not to have to use it! I should've left then, but I stayed. The dentist then injected my mouth to numb the side he was working on. I have NEVER felt pain from a novocaine injection before. It was soooooo painful. He filled the tooth but did not file down the sharp spot. I asked why and he avoided my question. As soon as the novocaine wore off I was in real pain, not only from my tooth, which didn't going into this appointment, but from my jaw at the injection site!! I can't eat or drink anything cold and even room temp liquids hurt straight down to the tooth's root. I tried calling the dentists office but could only get voicemail. This was on a Tuesday. I never got to speak to anyone until late Wednesday. They said I had to come back in to see the dentist. At that appt I was told the filling was okay and the dentist filed the sharp spot down. I asked why was I in such pain if my filling had not fallen out. With hesitation the dentist said, because my tooth was cracked. I was so stunned that I didn't ask how it happened. I just asked how do we fix it. He said I needed a crown. The following day I called the office and asked for them to send me an estimate for the needed dental work and to send me my x-rays, because I was scheduled to go to a TMJ appt and they requested I bring my current x-rays. I Never received my emailed records as promised. I waited until the following Tuesday and called again leaving a message with my request. I called on Friday, one week after my initial request. Apparently ALL my records have been lost. My file is empty of all x-rays. I contacted United Healthcare and told them all this so we could open a grievance against Gentle Dental and Dr. Santiago. Apparently Gentle Dental had already submitted the claim and UHC has paid it. I told them to get their money back as there is No evidence of my visit. This is also under investigation at UHC. read more

No customer service when I walked in. The receptionist just said please hold while I stood there for five minutes.i was given out new patient information and was told to sit down while I filling out at the counter to not even be seen. I called the day before to verify my insurance which is active and in network and the information I have about the policy was lost and have to be given the time of the appointment again. I left a review about being overbilled at Gentle Dental Oracle in Tucson, AZ. Chris responded and said someone would reach out to me within two days. That hasn't happened. The office manager had agreed that they had overbilled me $185 for one procedure, but said that they did not issue credits in the local office. She indicated that the corporate office would be calling me in two to three weeks for my credit card number and they would issue credit. Three weeks passed and no phone call so I called them. The representative said the corporate office does not issue credits; that is done by the local office. I then called the office and the Office Manager was on vacation for two weeks. I emailed another person (Stephanie) on July 13 in that office explaining and itemizing other things that were overbilled for a total of $335. I asked for a refund by July 18. No response. When I called July 17 she is out of the office and will be in July 18. I called July 18 and she is out until tomorrow. I would not recommend going to this dental office unless you don't have insurance. If you have insurance, check your copay from the insurer before you pay!! I can't help but wonder how many other people have been overbilled. read more

I absolutely hate the dentist. Ive had nothing but painful, unpleasant experiences in the past. I saw Dino Drunmer here and it was the best experience! The xray guy, Kim, and Dino were awesome. He took the time to fill my cavity carefully and did a great job. And we had a few laughs along the way. I will be going back! read more

I just went in to schedule an appointment for myself and my 2 boys for a cleaning I shared my experience with my previous dentist with them and the front receptionist proceeded to just argue with me in regards to defending the other dentist when she actually had no idea what was being recommended or being done from the other practitioner. If it wasn't for the receptionists upfront arguing with me I would have probably done business with them and been a life long patient. Since I have 50 employees that work in the same complex, it could have worked put great for Gentle Dental. She should have probably scheduled the appointment like I asked and not continued to argue with me... read more

Amazing staff with excellent care. I have had a great experience every visit and love how thorough the medical professionals are.

I'll start by saying I gave two and not one star because I am a fan of the dentist. He is awesome. I'll also say that I am rarely never late. Even with twin 3 year olds I manage to get places on time. Today was not that day. I was 5 minutes late. They turned me away. I was told that I could not be seen for my teeth cleaning. I rearranged my schedule to fit the appointment in. I have worked in the service industry my entire life and would never turn anyone away for being 5 minutes late. You make it work. You don't do the fluoride treatment that they up charge you on, or you simply do what you can for your client. Not just turn them away completely. I drive out of my way for this particular dentist and saddened that I will no longer be coming simply because the dental hygienist didn't have it in her to make time for me. This kind of lack of sympathy will now have me finding a new dentist. read more

I was having severe wisdom tooth pain for 2 days due to an infection. I had no dental insurance and was expecting to pay a lot out of pocket to be seen. I set an appt and showed up early due to my pain. As I was being seen by the dentist the receptionist helped my mother in law(brought me to my appt)get me dental insurance through gentle dental. I was very impressed that the receptionist went out of her way to help me get insurance. I only had to pay 45 out of pocket for my appt! The dentist who wasn't their normal dentist was very kind and detailed about what was going on in my mouth as well as how I could manage the pain. He prescribed me pain meds and antibiotics and wrote me a referral for extraction right away. After my appt the receptionist (again) went out of her way to call and schedule a consultation and wisdom tooth extraction for me. She managed to get me an appt set up for 2 weeks after i was seen, which is very rare in wisdom tooth extraction. If I didn't have her help I would've had to wait until late July or August which would've been excruciating for me. I am very happy I picked gentle dental as my go to for my teeth. I look forward to keeping them as my dentists going forward. read more

Let me start by saying the dentist has always been my boogeyman. I've dealt with a severely dislocated shoulder, surgeries, and a chopped off finger in my life but when it comes to the dentist, I'm the biggest baby there is. With that being said, I have gone in for two procedures now (one being a root canal) and have a few more procedures to go. I must say, the doctors and staff at Gentle Dental have made my thoughts about going to the dentist dramatically change. Every time I go in I'm greeting by an inviting and caring staff. When I go back for my procedures the doctors and staff are very informative and make sure I'm as comfortable as I can be. A good example is when I went on for my root canal. I was so nervous I thought I was going to have a panic attack but the staff made sure I was completely numbed before I got my shots to numb me even further. Then before the procedure started they did a cold check to made sure I was completely numb. In the end my root canal was a success and I didn't feel a single bit of pain. I couldn't recommend Gentle Dental enough to anyone looking for an all around great practice to get your dental work done. read more

Nice people, but..... I was told I needed to have 2 teeth pulled. I was concerned and got a second opinion. That periodontist said I didn't need to have them pulled. Glad I went somewhere else. Gentle Dental is chain that doesn't get good reviews. Now I know why. Wish I'd read them first and saved my time and money. Just go somewhere else. read more
